  1. Sorry but I have to say that I prefer the original, the snare running through doesn't seem to fit very well? Apart from that nice job though.
  2. I'm guessing that you do realise that both of those cartoons are on page 10?
  3. The best take on the Dr Pepper thing I've had was something like this: Pint glass; half pint of coke; half pint of lager; drop a shot glass of Amaretto (proper stuff, obviously!) in the top and then down it. Yum.
  4. I got half a litre from Asda yesterday for just over a tenner. Good choice of beverage but if you're searching for it it's spelt Amaretto

  7. That's no excuse, it's no harder or slower to type properly on a phone or a keyboard! Hope you get it all sorted with the minimum of hassle to everyone involved.
  8. Click me; one of the best phone review sites out there I think...
  9. You're right Jonny, it is private but I'm at a loss as to what to do right now! Hopefully Citizens Advice and my Student Union should be able to help out. Cheers for the replies guys.
  10. It's £500 so not a huge amount but the principle remains. I'll call Citizens Advice when they're open and see if they can help. Cheers
  11. I'm a student landlord (live-in, during term time) in Nottingham and I've got a lodger who is sueing me for his rent and deposit. Essentially the guy moved into the house in June (while I was on holiday) and lived there (as far as I know) for two months before leaving due to failing his University exams. The keys and contracts (a copy for him and one for me) were given to him by one of my other lodgers at the time but I was never sent my copy of the contract. While he was living at the house he paid me the deposit and one month's rent by bank transfer. He phoned me during my summer holidays to tell me that he had failed and ask if it was ok to move out. I gave him permission to leave on the condition that he posted me the keys and the contract. I never received the keys (so have since changed the locks) and when we arrived back at the house it was obvious that he had been living there for some time. The kitchen and bathroom required extensive cleaning and the blind in his room needed replacing as he had used drawing pins to secure it to the wall. I attempted to contact him asking for the rent that was owed me and the bills that he had also not paid for but he didn't answer his emails or phone. I deducted the rent, bills and cleaning money from the deposit and then emailed him asking him to check this and give me his bank details so that I could transfer him the remainder of his deposit. I then received a voice-mail message saying that he was unhappy with this and going to take legal action. I have now received a N1 Claim form from Birmingham County Court saying that the deposit and rent money should not have been paid as we had been unable to agree. The Particulars on the form are as follows: "I am a student at Nottingham University and in May of 2007 I spoke to Chris Tayler concerning a rental of a room in a house at Nottingham. I met Chris in May but I had hope to b able to move in June 30th. We had several conversations but Chris Tayler had left by June 16th. I came to the house June 21st but Chris had gone. We could not agree on various issues but monies were paid into this bank account which I wish returned. " Should I obtain legal advice on this matter or simply return the Dispute form filled in by myself? If this case were to go to court is it likely that I would be found to be in the wrong (even though I don't think that I am)? Thanks for any thoughts on the matter.
  12. I'm pretty sure Bongo's asking about road bikes as in ones with pedals... Beaten to it! If you cast an eye over eBay there are often some nice bits of kit going for surprisingly small amounts of money on there.
  13. I might be going to have a look at a Bora on Saturday so if I get that I'd be well up for having a go on the track, especially if it's only £99! Only a 1.6 (100bhp) I'm afraid but will be getting some stiffer ARBs and some coilovers for it so should handle ok.
  14. That's a gripping read and you should be extremely proud of yourself, not many others would have had the balls to do that. Hope it doesn't mess you up too much, you should know that you did everything you could.
  15. Live For Speed (www.lfs.net) : Awesome simulator and great for drifting (difficult with the keyboard) Need For Speed (should be able to play Underground/Underground 2 I reckon) : Fun factor and car modding Colin McRae Rally 2005 : Good rally game (bit tricky with the keyboard though) If your computer could cope I'd sugest Test Drive Unlimited but it won't be up to the task
  16. That's some seriously bad luck man, but now you know you can do it so next time should be a breeze! Did your driving instructor apologise? Surely the airbag light doesn't just come on for no reason?
  17. Unfortunately it is an interferance engine but with any luck the damage will be minimal. I've managed to source a 1.6 engine so I'll either swap the block and head or just the head if needs be. Cheers
  18. Hey all, Last night I managed to strip the cambelt teeth on my Seat Ibiza 1.4 and I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much damage there's likely to be (all my tools are at home in Southampton and I'm at uni in Nottingham so I can't have a look at the moment!) Basically what happened is I stopped at some traffic lights and the revs fell straight to zero. Tried turning it over a few times but no luck (obviously). I'm guessing that there will have been some valve-piston contact but is this likely to have damaged the pistons or just bent the valves? If I can get away with replacing the valves or the head than that's probably cost effective but I'm not sure I can justify an engine swap (as its the base model anyway so no electical goodies, which I'd like!) Any thoughts until I get my tools up here to see for myself?
  19. Argh! My bad! Thanks to tomturd then haha. Edit: Was delivered today and I'm very pleased with it, going to take a little while to get used to the key placement but first impressions are good! Plus I got to keep my Intellimouse Explorer which is a definite bonus...
  20. Good spot Tomm, that does look like a pretty good deal! Cheers
  21. Hey all, A bit stuck looking for a new keyboard and mouse bundle... (Mine is playing up since I took the receiver apart to change the LEDs from green to blue) I've currently got a Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite which I'm quite partial to so I'm thinking about just getting the same again (~£40) or maybe splashing the extra cash for the bluetooth version (~£60). I don't really want to spend more than £60 and I'd rather stick to Logitech or M$ unless anyone has a particularly good reason not to! The only other one I've seen that I quite like is the Dell bluetooth desktop, they're quite snazzy. Any thoughts appreciated! Chris
  22. My first mini was £666 on a bonus accelerator policy with Elephant for my first year of driving (17, no no-claims) so they're a good bet and you could easily pick one up for a a grand...
  23. Have you had a look on eBay? If you can't find anything there then maybe the Yellow Pages might help...
  24. Cheers Tom, solved the problem straight away.
