But the caliper is really the same isn't it?
-
including you riding? How's your back?
-
I've got myself a Gopro Hero 5 and the touch screen sucks big time. It doesn't respond half of the time and when it does, it somehow selects something I didn't want to select.
-
Yeah. The MT6 caliper has undergone some changes too. It's supposed to be stiffer now. I really don't see any difference in the MT2/4/6 caliper now. It looks only a bit different... MT2: MT4: MT6:
-
Not anymore. They seem to have changed it:
-
The MT2 have a two piece caliper and from what I've read on other forums, are worse than the Deore Brakes. I've got an old MT4 (standard pads and SLX 203mm rotor) on the front and it works very well. Ben Travis rides the MT6 front and rear and is very satisfied with them. Since the only difference between MT4 and MT6 is the toolless lever adjustability, performance wise they should be the same.
-
None. Just two syringes and a hose to connect one syringe to the caliper. I bleed them this way only that I roll the diaphragm at the end in order to not have any air inside the reservoir.
-
I think a Hope adapter will do the trick as well. On the other hand, I somehow doubt that it's only the adaptor. How will it take away the amount of stress put on the caliper bolt holes (where the calipers tend to brake)? Mine broke after only a months use and a 180mm rotor. I used the Shimano adaptor though which was bent like a banana.
-
Lol... I just hope it comes down to the adaptor used with the brake. I broke my Zee in less than a month when I was doing smaller stuff than I do now. An MT5 with a bigger gap would be so cool. Talk to Magura about it please.
-
Will try that. I have ordered a Zee caliper that I will marry to an 810 lever. My MT5 on the rear are cool and all but they seem to be prone to rubbing due to the tiny gap between the pads. I hate rubbing rotors and come to think of it, pad knock is horrible on the MT5 as well. @Ali C The old Saint 810 calipers broke as well from what I've read on this forum. I broke a Zee caliper but I really think that it was more the cheap Shimano adapter that led to it rather than the caliper itself. Since then I run Hope adapters.
-
I actually had them on the list but them remembered the pad knock... Can be very unnerving but yeah... and since you talk about these three... since they have the same caliper, the Deores are just as fine with less lever adjustment.

MT5/6/7, Hope Trialzone, Saint (810 if you get some), Zee, BB7. Choose one.

Too bad I couldn't touch her tits when she was till young.

If I had known that a simple "I don't like the video" would lead to nipplegate, I would've let it be.
-
I will have to agree with you on that, I never had style and never will have but I have fun riding my bike. Just explain one thing to me. Where did I say that Chris didn't have any style? I just said that I found this particular video the least enjoyable of the many he has done. According to some of you, I have to like all the videos Chris publishes? Why?
-
You knew that before you even asked here. In my opinion the MT7 has more bling than bang for the buck.
-
I think he meant that the Zoot brakes easily there, not that yours is broken.
-
Or SLX or Avid BB7. Too much to choose from.
-
Get the MT5 either with 180mm rotors and Trialtech pads (+a lot of pad knock) or 200mm rotors and standard pads (with a lot less pad knock). I couldn't fault either and the extra money for the MT7 lever (calipers are the same) isn't worth it in my opinion. It only offers toolless reach adjustment which you can do with a torx bit on a MT5 lever as well. Maguras advertised more power due to some other lever ratio is just placebo from what I've read on the MTB forum. Or you could do it like @ben_travis and get the MT6 (which is basically an MT4 with a different lever just like the MT7). I've got the MT5 on the rear and an MT4 on the front with standard pads and 200mm SLX rotors and they just work.

I do Cyclocross so this is why I'm in favor of it. Don't get me wrong. I liked the video but for me this isn't the best edit of him.
-
Sometimes I'm not an Akrigg fanboy. His cyclocross edits were way better. I might add that I really don't like to see trials moves on a full sus. The only edit I enjoyed watching with this kinda bike was Dannys Wee Day Out. Personal preference really. Don't get me wrong. His riding was incredible. Its just that I enjoyed other videos of him more. And I would still love to see an inspired edit of him or a pure trials one.

What kind of wives do you guys have? Mine doesn't even notice the difference between my Inspired and my Rockman, let alone would she go online and order a new bike for me (I wouldn't even want her to for obvious reasons). As a child I told my parents how "really cool" the new Gameboy game was and later got it (oh surprise) as a christmas present. Do you do this with your wives as well? "Honey look. These new Jitisie bikes are sooo cool!"
-
Music is down to personal preference obviously. The video was kinda boring as I was always waiting for a bit more of something... can't quite put my finger down on it...
-
The worst video I've seen of him. Music was horrible.

Shouldn't it be 69?
