  1. Tnn ADM + Continental Air King/Maxxis Swampthing ST/Maxxis High Roller ST
  2. First time I actually tried this.
  3. That's the key word. I agree with @jeff costello on the wheel building part. I think trials wheels are the most abused wheels in cycling so the wheel build has to be done rather well. It isn't rocket science but I'd rather start with a cheap road bike wheel. In fact, my first wheel ever was a road bike wheel (or a fixie rear wheel for that matter). On another note, I've got a disc rear wheel that came with my Inspired. Hardly used. I may also have a front wheel. I just reused the hub with my new rims but would relace it if you need a wheel set.
  4. The sound is a bit different now and quieter. It's almost like a Magura brake. Yeah... I don't want to sidehop anymore as the first one cost me a new rotor.
  5. Everything is still sketchy but I'm still happy with it.
  6. I don't have an MTB anymore. Will have to ride trials instead. I have a pretty roomy attic so that spins and balance stuff can be done up there. This will have to do for the "It's to cold to go outside" days.
  7. Thanks and I even think, that I can bunny hop onto 1m by the end of this year. The wall in the video is 85cm high. All depends on the weather though. It is starting to snow now.
  8. I think it has to do with the Shimano rotors holding better, so that the pads move more instead of a slightly slipping brake. When changing the rotors I found that the Shimano ones worked almost as good as the bedded in Magura ones. Now they have bedded in completely and I suppose this is what causes the pad knock. I double checked everything and I dunno what else it could be. As Ali and Martin said, the pad knock at the beginning is horrible but will get better. In fact, as shown in my latest video (see the todays riding thread) the noise has become more quiet.
  9. It doesn't slip. The pads move a lot though About half a millimeter. I am pretty certain that this is pad knock as it's always the same sound whenever I do a bunny hop. It's like the pads hit the caliper very strongly. Or could it be the rotor moving at the pins? It seems solid and I cannot fault the brake. It's just noisy.
  10. Still having a lot of fun on the Inspired.
  11. As if I wasn't already too addicted to street riding... This video makes me want to go out and ride after having come back from a session.
  12. Frame, fork and bars. Thought about red but I will probably leave it like this. Funny that with this bike I care more about riding it than having matching colors. First time this actually happens.
  13. SLX cranks, RT76 Rotors, Nukeproof pedals. I think this is it. Won't change anything now as it feels quite comfortable. Have to get rid of the pad know though. It's horrible with the new rotors even though they brake better. Inspired Element 2012¹ by niconj, auf Flickr Inspired Element 2012² by niconj, auf Flickr
  14. And develops pad knock. Can somebody explain to me why I didn't have pad knock with the Avid or Magura rotors but with the Shimanos? Whenever I jump onto a wall it sounds as if the rotor brakes in half. Why doesn't it happen with the other rotors?
  15. And the Shimano RT76 seems to brake better than a Magura Storm. Just swapped the front because the noise of the storm rotor is a bit annoying and even without bedding in, the Shimanos are very good already and will probably be better than the Storm.
  16. slx rt66 are probably the best bang for the buck. I don't know about the bending though. Does the spider of the rt76/rt86 bend as well. If it doesn't, the rotor itself might be stronger.
  17. It does and it needs more bass.
  18. Probably (hopefully) different material.
  19. The brake surface is the same on the SM-RT76. Just saying.
  20. Since you've all quoted the ICE-TECH rotor. Why not get the cheaper RT76? Same thing (for trials) as the aluminum core of the RT86 isn't really needed.
  21. Why not take it as constructive criticism? The jokes weren't really funny and you guys act a bit immature. That's all. The riding was cool but if you don't get any viewers due to the above stated, why bother making vlogs?
  22. Seeing that YOU say that makes it even more... oh well... just insane.
  23. 3h of cruising around and/or using WD40 to help speed up the process.
  24. I just don't get how easy you flick the bike around.
