  1. Tried it today. It doesn't work without the pin as the upper jockey wheel gets too close to the sprocket and makes the chain skip.
  2. 22:16? Doesn't it hit the chain stay after a while? White might not be too bad after all. Green doesn't look to bad either I have to admit. White by niconj, auf Flickr Orange by niconj, auf Flickr Green by niconj, auf Flickr
  3. Punctuation, paragraphs... and so on.
  4. Nahhh... I don't like running loose chains. The KMC z610hx, while being a good chain, does stretch quite a bit. Did you run no tensioner on yours? You have the 2012 as well haven't you?
  5. Ok. Should've known that before shortening the chain. Thanks.
  6. This is as far to the front as the tensioner goes. 2 more links and it wouldn't have fitted. Black bars would mean black forks. Actually... I really don't like the color of the forks. edit: I could get the tensioner a bit more forward if I took off the little pin that holds it to the derailleur hanger. Dunno how to describe it. It sits where normally the screw to adjust the height of the derailleur sits.
  7. Still haven't laced the hope hub as I'm waiting for the rims to arrive. What I did though was to change the grips the front lever (hose through the steerer as well) and mount the Rohloff spanner.

    Morecambe and Wide

He's heavier than you as well.
  9. Yeah... actually... it's about the bike rides rather than how it looks. As it is, it already looks much better than I am able to ride.
  10. Just so happens, that I'll get a set of Stiffies for a small buck. Unfortunately, they are the fluo green ones, that really don't fit to the color of the bike. I have the option of having the color changed professionally by a good friend and am thinking of adding another color to the bike. I might go with white but am uncertain. forks, bars and rims in gunsmoke grey would be cool as well. Or I could just ride those fluo green rims.

    Firming it up

This. Deore brakes with an XTR carbon booster (pretty rare these days). Better than a HS33 anyways.
  12. True... couldn't bunny hop shit on my pure trials. Got myself an inspired and after three days I bunny hop as high as I pedal up with the other bike. I don't like the red color of the rims and the other parts. Looks like those CUBE bikes that are more color than anything else.
  13. Nobody's gonna read a text like this...
  14. That's the motto for trials parts. No-one really cares.
  15. Wanna read something. Here, here, here, here, here and here.

    Ali C Vlog

I kinda skipped through till the Tarty warehouse, which was interesting to see.
  17. Echo pads that come with this bike will be fine. Especially because you won't be able to do anything big anytime soon.
  18. Probably. I didn't ride it long on my 24'' Echo but at 30 psi, combined with my lack of technique and weight of around 90kg I had two punctures where I wouldn't have one with the Maxxis Super Tacky tire I ran before. I bottom out at 45 doing a bunny hop onto an edge.
  19. Haven't been riding since Friday and found out today that I have a flat tire on the rear. I have checked the carcass and haven't seen any cut. Must have been a tiny snake bite then. At 40 psi a bit annoying though.
  20. Ordered both just to see whether the short version would work. On a 16T it doesn't. So I'll send it back and keep the long version. I also saw the hope jockey wheels... very nice but probably a waste of money. The Tacx the Rohloff comes with are proven to be reliable even though the don't have the bling.
  21. I started on a street trial bike and wasn't really happy with it so got a pure trials bike (both 24'') I then went over to a 26'' pure trials. Now, after three years of pure trials, I got myself a street trial bike again (24'') and couldn't be happier. I guess this doesn't help at al. Here's a link to my blog. I tried to document as much as possible. http://beginners-trial.blogspot.de/
  22. 450 Euros with Avid Elixir 5 brakes and different bars. It's basically new and didn't have a scratch. edit: I've just ordered the Pro 4 Hub and will relace my rear wheel only. I even have fitting spokes so I'll stick with the Inspired Pro rims for now.
  23. Are the Spank 33 rims really worth it? Seem very light for a not so smooth and heavy rider as myself. The next alternative would be the Spank Spike 35AL that are around 150gr. heavier.
