It's @Martin Direske who's been running Vees for ages. He has old style SD7 levers and Ultimate brakes if I remember correctly (with a Shimano Carbone booster). I run SD7 levers and Ultimate brakes with Oddyssey linear slick cables. My brake (on a Rockman Gabbro with Vee mounts and a cheap Tektro booster) is super quiet but as powerful as a well setup HS33; the hold is even better. The force required to pull the lever is as little as a water bled HS33. The only thing is that the bite point is a bit mushy due to the cables.

I broke mine after a couple of rides. I remember Martin or Ali not being happy with them either. XT isn't any better than Deore really. The SD7 levers are really good.
-
Hope you meant levers and some cheap deore brakes. The SD7 brakes aren't really good for trials.

You'll have a lot of competition on that one cause that's what I do best.

I've got a Hope and a HS33 I fully trust on the front.

You seem to improve on this bike a lot or is it just me? p.s.: Hate that I can't rewind the video on instagram.

Rockman squat. One of these will have to go soon as it takes too much time to adjust to the different geometry of either. Right now I pretty much prefer the red one (probably because it's new) although it has to have a 150x30 stem. The shorter Trialtech doesn't really work for me, the 20mm lower BB does though. Rockman Liberté = 9.1kgs (rims are heavy as f*** which I don't mind) Rockman Gabbro = 9.4kgs Rockman Squat¹ by niconj, auf Flickr Rockman Squat² by niconj, auf Flickr Rockman Squat³ by niconj, auf Flickr

Yep. I can probably jump 20cm higher or even more. My problem is mentally. I don't jump as high if the wall is higher. It really sucks. That's why I try to get it right on this wall 1000x to just close my eyes on a higher wall.

Big props for getting up there right after the crash and trying to do it right. I tend to do this as well but on crashes like this I think I would just give in to my fear and go home.

Team Toast. Bit short but all in there.
-
Yes, but I don't have any pain whatsoever. I do stretch occasionally but not as much as I should.
-
According to @Ali C it's the best thing you can do to learn trials.

Some girls earn money with this.

Got mine already but as I didn't own the old version I couldn't tell the changes they've made.

Same weight. Now that I think of it, sometimes I went down to around 1.5 bars on the Der Kaiser without any problems either. Off camber it feels weird though. I don't think the Monty can be ridden with such low pressures (obvious for such a light tire). I will test it today though. The thing about the Monty is that you don't feet the high pressure as much as on other tires. It is very soft.

I was hoping something like this would show up.

Ok... so first tiny review after having ridden 2 hours with the tire. It is very bouncy, I'd say it's bouncier than my "Der Kaiser" on a single wall rim (running the Monty on a dual wall), which isn't too much of a surprise. It also bottoms out rather quick in comparison to the Conti. I ran 2.2 bars and still hit the rim when doing a gap. This didn't happen with the Conti on 2.0 bars (same gap). With the above mentioned pressure it doesn't fold off camber and the grip is very good too. Not as good as the "Der Kaiser" I think but still good enough. I will have to run in the wet in order to make sure.

I rode with a couple of very good people last weekend. I don't know if you guys know Marko Berthold but he was here and well... I was amazed how high he got without even forcing himself too much (this obstacle for example he did without any effort whatsoever). I didn't talk to them much though. Here's a video of one of the very first sidehops on the new bike. It seems a bit easier although I still have to find the balance point.

Laced up the wheel and put everything together. I haven't decided on the steerer length yet so I left it uncut. Probably will go down a bit. Same about the stem length. I got an 150x30 still so if the 130x25 don't work out... Weight is arount 9.3kg I think. Haven't weighed it yet. edit: Just weighed it. It's 9.1kg. I should use it to compare my Trials-Riding. It's the only riding I do currently.
-
Ratio is the same in all. XT = Saint, Deore = Zee. If you want more power, get the Trialtech pads.

Too bad that (for me) the S1 (nor the marathon which is supposed to last longer) sole doesn't last very long. Half a year and I have to buy new shoes. I'll ordered some Giro Jacket on sale and see how they'll perform.

As if you didn't know it. I love and also hate your videos. Love them because they are insane. Hate them because they show me things I'll never be able to do even with brakes.
