    We'll see about that.
  2. It is the same brake with different materials used. I have taken apart both and the inner parts are interchangeable. Hardware = bolts. The use is due to the different brake pads used for the mountain (sintered) and the mountain s (organic).
  3. The only difference is titanium bolts, organic (vs. sintered) pads and the rotors that come with the brake. Take an "non s" BB7, put organic pads in there and buy some titanium bolts and you got an "s" version. The road version is supposed to be used with road bike shift-brake levers. That's why the mechanical advantage is different. Road levers have a different lever pull than MTB levers.
  4. Maybe a motorcycle rim would be better.
  5. Maxxis Snyper. Very nice wear rate.
  6. I've got a new Rocket Ron.
  7. From the looks of it you are already pretty used to your new bike. Having seen it I really want my dual disc echo back.
  8. wheel base went from 1050 to 1070 and bb from 70 to 65 if I'm not mistaken. I rode both and the grayish one was more like a 20'' and the other more like a 26''. I did feel a huge difference. This being said, I'd really like my short Echo back now that I've ridden long and very long stocks.
  9. Anyone knows when the V2 forks and the new levers will be released?
  10. Swapped the Echo FFW with a Jitsie one. What a difference. Should've done so long ago. p.s.: The Jitsie is LOUD!
  11. Comes with a different GEO though.
  12. What's that sound on 0:20? Sounds like a rim brake. Never mind. Just saw the people in the background.
  13. True... haven't though about this. I will ask them about the BCC. They seem to have a very good customer service so I expect an answer pretty soon.
  14. Isn't there only one BCC version and another, not made in Germany version that doesn't have BCC? The funny thing is that my tyre doesn't say anywhere that it's BCC but it says "made in Germany" which I take for being made of BCC.
  15. I got myself a "Der Kaiser" (not the project version) and couldn't be happier, especially at the price of 20€ for a barely ridden one. It's heavy but so much better than the "Baron Project" and I would even go as far as to say, better than the Try All Sticky lite. Off camber it's the bomb. Went out yesterday to ride my favorite rock section and while the Baron would push me in weird directions, the "Der Kaiser" stays in the position I land in. It is also very grippy, no wonder at a 35a compound (I think Tarty measured it).
  16. I know the earlier version was lighter and more beautiful than this one but this is more practical. I was going to grind my front rim but rather went for the disc setup as I really like the Hope front brake. The Baron Project had to go as I don't really liked its performance on off camber surfaces. I haven't ridden the Der Kaiser yet but the Der Kaiser Project was better than the baron and having read that the normal Kaiser even outperforms the Project one, I got it off the bay for almost nothing. The tyre on the front is a really close fit and with the wider rim it doesn't move anymore. _5294855 by niconj, auf Flickr _5294856 by niconj, auf Flickr
  17. Same goes for this region of the earth. http://www.meipai.com/media/525235390
  18. But already a lot higher than I can go.
  19. How on earth do you get up there with your bike?

    Ali C Vlog

After having seen my mother in law half naked, I'm not scared of anything anymore. Next Vlog entry will be on a comp bike?

The camera is pretty close to your face isn't it.
  22. Well... I didn't have the fork faced (Trialtech SL) and I'm running a Hope +20 adaptor to run a 200mm rotor. Spacers aren't needed.
  23. So I've got a Trialzone IS caliper that with my Trialtech SL forks and hub aligns perfectly without even using the caliper washers (no rubbing and that with a 200mm rotor). I've read a lot about IS brakes being a pain in the ass and that PM calipers perform better. Is that only when the IS doesn't align perfectly or is there really a performance difference other than no rubbing.
  24. No need for any special bar tape. There are so many out there for road bikes (or cyclocross where they take some abuse as well) to choose from... Some things are just not really necessary. Those forks, levers etc. on the other hand... That sidehop to rear... wow!
