  2. As I will go disc on my Echo 24'' real soon I was wondering if a Trialtech Single Wall rim on the rear is only for smooth riders. I'm not doing any huge gaps or drops or anything like it yet (just started with trials 9 months ago) but I'm rather heavy (84kg) and far from smooth I guess. Since I got the Trialtech rim on the front I was thinking of going single wall on the back as well. I'm currently running an Echo TR that has held up incredibly well. I will lace the rim to a symmetric hub and will be using DD spokes as well. I'd consider myself a very good wheel builder if that matters. As the rim won't be used with a Magura it won't be ground either. So what do you think?
  3. Just wondering. What's not being careful? You tighten them, then the bolts and job done. Right?
  4. Bite is alright, hold is horrible.
  5. I guess that HE does. It's not a very big store. I know that he said that he had one frame still, when I called. I don't know whether he was referring to mine or still another one. It's a damn good price init? Oh and by the way. The webpage is on the frame.
  6. It might be in stock here in Germany and shipping isn't too expensive. Would still be cheaper than buying it from Tarty I think. I bought it at 295€ and shipping to GB doesn't cost more than 15€. Thats 245GBP. Edit: You want me to give them a call?
  7. I don't doubt that but I am way worse than my bike so that I'm in no need for such a conti. Do you ride it on the front as well?
  8. Because they are practically Saints 810. It's the same breaking power. I don't want those Contis as I have some new High Roller Super Tacky and Swamp Thing Super Tacky still lying around in my shed, and on the front a Conti would be too wide and heavy.
  9. Saints* will be mounted this weekend and I'm not gonna spend 60€ on some tyre. *Actually a Zee caliper and some SLX 665 levers that don't have the free stroke adjustment (that doesn't work anyways) and have the same color of the frame.
  10. It's just not his. I think the theat opener is still waiting for his frame.
  11. Not a dual disc yet but after the weekend it's probable gonna be a dual Saint. Echo² von niconj auf Flickr Echo¹ von niconj auf Flickr

    Mind the gap

So the bearings don't come loose? I thought that the spacers have a function other then looking good. Btw. what tool is used to press in those bearings?

    Mind the gap

What about a new bottom bracket and used TryAll Elite cranks. I also have a 5mm gap and I doubt that the cranks will slide on any further or am I mistaken? Does the crank have to touch the spacer? I can imagine that the bottom bracket comes loose if not.
  14. First video was lame. Half an hour using people. as props. I hate when they do that crap. It's not interesting and just thinking about a broken chain....
  15. Good to know. I'll get the Zee then and put a Saint 810 lever to it.
  16. Nothing I really like doing. Bought an Echo 24'' disc frame though.
  17. Just re-read it. Does the 24'' really work work with a screw on sprocket on the front? Tarty states that it doesn't. Recommended for 18:14 gear ratio and front freewheel only, since a screw on front sprocket will generally contact the BB yoke
  18. Why are all you guys so good? Here's a vid of myself I'm quite happy with it but get depressed when I see the things you guys do. http://videos.mtb-news.de/embed/player/36456
  19. As I will go rear disc soon I'm wondering if there is any difference in pad play/wobble/rocking between the 810 caliper and the 820 caliper. I read that some people. were complaining about the 820 being too "loose" but don't know whether this is also the case for the older caliper. The reason I'm asking is that I can get a Zee brake cheaper than a single 810 caliper and since the Zee has the same caliper as the Saint 820 I'd just be changing the lever to an 810 one as I've done on my front brake. On the front my brake is superb but I can immagine that pad play/wobble/rocking on the back can be a real pain in the ass.
  20. Which shouldn't be too hard as there are a lot of 24'' Echos out there and many will have the TR hubs as well.
  21. I'm planning on swapping my frame for an Echo 24'' Disc and was wondering what sprocket I should use for the best chain line. I currently run a Trialtech 14T on an Echo TR hub. For the current frame it's perfect but I don't know how that will be for the Echo frame. The Trialtech sprocket is on one line with the outer side of the threads and an Echo one is more to the middle. Thanks, Nico.
