  1. As A Newbie to Trials myself .... Thebigjam101 above is spot on. Trashzen has been a massive help. I ordered their book from Tarty Bikes last week. Its brilliant. Starts from the begining and takes you through everything. Bike Set up, choice of bike, Gear, and then the majority on how to perform the moves. Well worth the £20. I'm still crap though! haha. Give me time and practice
  2. Haha brilliant, brightened my morning up in work!!! Spot on....as soon as it stops with the monsoon going on outside i shall be giving this a bash. (The biking techniques...not the other things!!) haha.
  3. Thanks mate, Is this with still using moment on pedal to pull bike up / Slight pedal forward? Or just simply using body weight with back wheel brake on?
  4. Work carries on at the bomb site.

  5. What am I doing wrong? Taking a while to get used to this bike haha. I am lifting front wheel using old techniques I guess but adding the pedal push which throws front end up. Works a treat. But I want to be bouncing on the back wheel . When I pull back brake when up....front end drops down . Grrrrrrr Help me haha
  6. Haha yes...too right. Your right about the noise on those brakes ! Thank you and to all at tatty bikes.... Fantastic place....i will be returning. Cheers guys
  7. It's pissing it down I'm soaked but had to take it for a spin. Really strange at first! Keep trying to sit down haha

  10. Hi everyone! I am picking up the Onza Comp on Thursday and was wondering is anyone from the North west up for a meet? Be good to get a few together. Pop some skills and i can blend in and pick up some starting tips from those willing to share their secrets haha I can drive or get the train its no bother but I am from Barrow in furness. Anyone nearby up to as far as Preston or Carlisle? I am free most weekends but work 7-7 monday to Thursday and 7-12 fridays. All the Best Taff
  11. Thats good that he sent the link! Spot on! Liking the pictures too. Nice guy to take and share them with you and us
  12. CANT WAIT! haha. They seem a proper friendly bunch, on website and on emails to and fro. They said they will be putting better brake pads on it too for £16. And the Boosters are £25 if i decide i want them. Bring on Thursday!! Whoop Whoop!!
  13. Ordered, going to pick up and have a look forst though, requested the build come with rear brake booster as lot of people have seemed to need this. Awesome stuff!
  14. Its not Rocket Science!!!......Thats too easy!!

  15. Thanks mate. Just checked, Comes fully built so that should be right. I didnt realise it was a 2010, i saw it somewhere advertised as a 2013. Looking at the 2013 ones, i.e. the Pro, set up doesnt seem to be as good as the comp, and a heavier bike too. Have they gone dowhill?
  16. I am very new to Trials and this is one of the best i have seen to get me rolling - literally!! Thank you )
  17. Hi dezmtber, it will probably be a mix of everything. I have quite a big car and the bike will be going everywhere with me. So whatever surrounding i am in or find it will be used on. The Bigger bikes....im guessing iw ould have to spend more on to get the wight down? And a free Chain slap guard and Hoodie! Get in! Haha. I think this is the deal im going to go for ) Anyone used these to buy a bike before? What are they like for Delivery. Do you know where it would go if I wasnt in when they tried to deliver? Special instructions or whatever? And is it sent fully built? Thanks for the link though bing, spot on, i endeveor to purchase this week! :-D Very good post there The_Zulu, Think we need a meet up! Seem on the same wavelength. I have been watching the getting started trial biking clips on here with tips and advice from members. Starting off with on the flat, rocking, then front to back wheel, (Sure there are terms for all this but i will learn them as it comes :-S ) I had a drive round a few times this weekend to see if anyone was in the area, was nice weather but no one was giving it some ( Will keep my eye out...then run em down for a chat! haha. Thanks a lot guys. If anyone is doing anything or planning to in the near future, bit of a gathering i would be more than pleased to come along ) Cheers, Taff Looking forward to getting starter.

Hey, now my new entry restrictions are lifted its even better!

  19. I like your style. Really looking forward to getting started ). There are some cracking vids i have watched with people running 26"'s, but it would probably be a lot similar to my old bike i built.....somehow i think i had trials in mind when designing it! haha Cracking help there bud and yes, everyone seems great so far ) How long have you been riding now and have you picked up the techniques and confidence? The Onza's i have seen ranged from £400 to about £600, with HS33's front and rear i think. From the sounds of it these are much preffered than discs. Which i am happy with as having discs again is too the same for me and always fancy a change! I have never used these before though. Im on the exact same wave length as you though, New, then its under guarantee etc, know that it hasnt taken a beating and been stressed. (Also saves on mega travelling as I live in a right cul de sac of the country!!) What is classed as long and short wheelbase with these? Are different makers of trials bikes acustomed to thir own wheel base length or are there options? Thanks again for the replies guys, much appreciated! I am out of my quota for the day now, apparently I have to have two more approved posts before the limit is lifted. So if anyone else replies or you guys respond again i will get back to you first thing when get to work tomorrow :-P
  20. Would 20" be ok as a starter do you think? Also, i want it good enough so once i do get the hang of it i wont have to change preferably, or not change bikes drastically. Is there anything else you can recommend? Price range up to £1500.... I am from Barrow in Furness (Sorry, i created the profile using Facebook and it didnt update my details, i have done this now). I dont know anyone who currently does trials biking, but see a few every now and then in certain areas....maybe I will Gate crash if they dont come forth on here first :-P Smashing. What does this Mod / Mods mean. Are they made to modify or built on basis of a bigger bike but with modifyable wheels? I will have a look at the sale bits. Thank you for the advice ) I've read that even though I have lots of experience biking, the trials will feel weird as hell! haha. Cant wait. And Hey.... this forum is pretty well laid out...ive even been able to do a multi quotes!!
  21. Hi everyone ) I am new here, but not to biking. Up to a year and a half ago i used to be a huge mountain, down hill and 4x rider. Due to a heart condition i had to pack this in, as the demand i was putting on myself (6 hours at nearly 175% resting heart rate a day) was far too much for my problem. The bike i had just built had to go and since i have done nothing. I want to get into Trials, i watch the clips every night on Youtube and I absolutely love it. But i am not used to the bikes and know this is going to be a bit of a journey to get used to. But it is something i can put as little or as much effort in a day to what suits...so it sounds good to me. Maybe get my fitness back up (And keep me out of the pub) My details, 24 years old, 5ft 7 or 8, small/medium build...im on facebook to assess size etc. Up for anything! Soo......First off. I am ready to buy my first trials bike...but....What to buy? 20-24" wheels? What brakes? Size of bike? Build one or buy complete? Buy new or second hand? I am big on how things look. And would prefer No seat because i think they look awesome! And to be honest when doing 4x, tricks, and all my other biking the seat never got used! So wasted weight i am thinking is this right for trials? I have been looking at the Onza Pro 2013 and the Onza Comp 2013. Are these any good? I think they are 24" wheels. Is smaller better for learning? Any Any Any advice you can give here is much appreciated and i look forward to getting started on this, and perhaps making a few friends, learning from expereince and days out with the bikes together hopefully. Much appreciated in advance ) Taff
