  1. HI GUYS, Gonna drill my front & rear rims at the W/E. Any tips or warnings before I go for it? Got plenty of clearance etc on rims, just wanna avoid mistakes if you've already suffered them Cheers
  2. Hi, anyone know of like minded people riding in Cornwall? Thanks
  3. OK - firstly my apologies for yet another dumb newbie question (or two).... Recently bought a very tidy Phase 1.2 and am looking to convert to single speed. For know I'm sticking with the O/E cranks running a 22t chain ring. My question here is what size am I best running on the back end? Trash Zen suggest a 19t. I can mess around with the cassette for know and find my own 'zen' but am just keen to hear about anybody elses experience. Also, the steerer has been trimmed down to it lowest possible length leaving me with no option to add a spacer, and the lean is starting to get really uncomfortable. So, I'm thinking of a longer and/or taller stem. Again, I'd appreciate any suggestions. I believe the Phase has a +5mm BB, but not sure what other factors to consider (I'm 6ft if that's relevant). Guys, please try and refrain from knocking my choice of bike, I appreciate many people seem to think its pretty cr*p, but I got it for a real good deal, it's what I could afford and I'm loving riding it THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
  4. Hey T'tank, sorry for going off subject but noticed in another thread that yer from Cornwall. I'm just starting out (bike arriving tomorrow - hopefully), live in NQY and am keen to meet with other newbies to ride with. Let me know if you're keen. Cheers
  5. ARRGGH I'M TOO ANGRY TO TELL Still waiting for my 1st trials specific bike to arrive though
  6. Hi, please excuse my ignorance. Perhaps the answer to my question is obvious... but what are the advantages of running a twin jockey chain tensioner rather than a single jockey? THANKS
  7. Finally bought my bike. However after having my car fixed, my budget was somewhat reduced!! So Ive bought a pretty tidy looking MAD Phase 1. From what I've read it can make a pretty good starter bike, and with a few upgrades could potentially last me a while. Anyone had one of these? How do I convert to single speed? Thanks, Matt
  8. Hi. Ok so I have wanted to get riding trials for ages, and have been bouncing around on my hardtail bike for years. I'm 41, about 12st and 6ft. Been riding MTB for well over 20yrs - never gone full sus and love the feel of a good quality rigid bike. I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand trials bike, and would benefit from some experienced advice and info. Having played around on my hardtail with the seat removed, I'm confident that 'no seat' is the way I want to go, but thats where it ends really. I'm not sure whether to go 20, 24 or 26. Obviously used to riding 26, but wonder if I'd benefit from a smaller wheel especially to start with. My budget will be restrictive for sure at around £300/350, but seen plenty of bike on eBay for around that price. Please help any way you see fit. CHEERS!
