  1. Whats better way to strip paint and be sure it's 100% Crack? Sandpaper is a bad idea? It can fill the crack with aluminum dust, so I guess some chemical paint remover?
  2. Never seen something like that before. What is the best way to check is the frame going to trash bin or it is just paint.
  3. I’ve just finished my Dirt/Trialsy commuter all-rounder thinking how good it would be to try to go full-bike-madman, making my bike the one and only option for transportation even in -30 C winter and finally get rid of my car and this crazy f….g b*****d called for mobilization. We’ve been living under his dictatorship for 20+ years, living in poverty and abjection. Imagine the richest (natural resources) country in the world but with 3rd world quality of life, corruption, lack of common sense and justice. The modern reality of my country is f….g SURREAL. Like some schizophrenic-drug-addict dream mixed with a dystopian novel. I don’t know if I should place some examples of how ugly and degenerative our laws, police and government became. They would just throw you in jail if they don’t like you, law is just some random words in codes means nothing. In jail they’re insanely violently torture people to disabilities and death and no one, NO F….G ONE OF THEM GOT punished for that. The best people can get is to force some bastards from prisons management to leave current job and few days later they would be hired on same post in another region. And now they are forcing me to a choice of: go and kill Ukrainians or to be tortured in prison like the “enemy of the people”, yeah same degeneracy as in USSR. I don’t want to talk about politics and don’t want to listen to some degenerative opinions like “man go overthrow your government if you don’t like it”. It DOESN’T F….G WORK, OKAY? Yes, you can go radical but the outcome would be death or suffering under tortures and death. Wake up, it’s not like in some “more democratic” countries, they already killed thousands of people from opposition. For the last few years, I realized that I’m ready to go radical and die, taking few bastards with me, but what for? Nothing would change. They would just go full crazy allowing police to kill anyone like it was in 1937. The only rational way is to put up with losing everything I have here and flee somehow to some normal country. The only things I want from life is: 1. To be able to do my job (electronics repairs) because I like to help people. To help them keep alive devices they like, to help them recover what means a lot for them and also, it’s really rational to utilize things to the max, not sparing carelessly limited resources and reducing the suffering in this world (you can’t imagine how much of abusive child labor involved in creating things we are using every day). 2. To be able to do what makes me happy: riding bikes and some other hobbies. To do something constructive and helpful, not destructive and terrible. Is it f….g A LOT I’m asking? If I would make it, I would post again. The time has come. Time to act.
  4. Hmm, look what exists in our world. It has gap on purpose. But why?
  5. I think you should ideally be able to fully maintenance your bike. I don't trust even a good mechanic because sometime they may forget something and when you do all by yourself you have more confidence in your bike. About replacements: Chain ~once a year (I ride 3-5 times a week too) Brake pads obviously doesn't matter, you'll notice the wear. Some other stuff like bearings also doesn't matter, you'll notice it and they won't cause any threat to your health. The one thing really matter is inspecting your frame/forks for cracks and, of course swapping them with some time period, but giving advice here is impossible because there are too many factors need to be considered (amount of stress you putting on your bike). Trials bikes are pretty simple, there are nothing to worry about. MTB's for example are way worse in this case, 2 weeks ago I got a few lite injuries falling of some tiny 1m drop to concrete because my drive-train got stuck (cassette and chain was worn off too much + not ideally tuned derailleur ) during wheelie-drop. So, look for cracks and swap frames/forks periodically, once 3-7 years maybe? Because as far as I know the worst injuries comes from snapped forks and frames, not chains.
  6. You can ask this question 70+ years later and I will answer NO. Would ride till I dead.
  7. Thanks for help, Mark. Also I was wondering how bad this crack is? I think I'll use this hub until winter and would rebuild wheel after the end of riding season. The strange thing is that cracked hub was almost not used, yes it's old but was used no more than 6 months actually with 180 rotors and no big moves at all. Seems like it was defective in the first place. And BTW my regular pro 2 evo are 40T (updated version?), which means it has 9 degree engagement, which is more than enough for me. Pro 2 evo SS are 48T@7.5deg. Out of interest would compare their guts later.
  8. So what I got right now, is that I can't use regular MTB hub body for trials due to 24T@15degrees engagement. That means I need to 1) sell 135x10 SS hub for parts, buy Pro 4 SS instead 2) buy 135->142mm conversion kit for my other bike and problem solved. Also I've heard a lot about bad quality of 4th generation of Hope (also about industry9) hubs and.. don't actually know what to do :/
  9. Help me, lads. I have 2 bikes, Inspired 4play 2013 and Dartmoor Hornet 4X. Both have hope pro 2 evo hubs, one 135x10 (SS) bolt on and other 135x12 through axle. I want to keep going with Hope hubs but I have 2 problems: 1) Pic related, 135x10 got cracked. 2) I’m changing my Hornet 4X for another similar frame but with 142x12 through axle dropouts. So, I have few options: -to somehow repair/build one good hub from two 135 hubs I have, then sell remaining parts and as a second hub get a new pro 4; -to convert 135x12 to 142x12 and to repair 135x10 (SS) And so on. I have 135x12 to 142x12 conversion Kit in my local store for 58 USD. I can order a Hope pro 4 142x12 hub from aliexpress for 275 USD. Hope pro 4 SS would cost me 305 USD. Also I have a HOPE Pro4 BODY with bearings/seals for 125 USD in same local store, but would it fit guts from Pro 2 evo? What would be the optimal way of solving this situation?
  10. Sorry, someone has to do it:

  14. That 5mm chainstay difference you mean?
  15. Cheers I have fourplay 2012 and since geo is pretty close to new HEX I would like to try it on 26 wheels. Is it possible? Wheelbase: 1020mm Chainstay: 375mm BB Height: +25mm Head Angle: 73˚
