  1. Leopard does a system analysis when you install it - if you have an older mac it turns off some of the special effects. How old is your PC? If it's as old as mine (Powerbook) then it won't be transparent ( ) although the word on the street is that it's a bug and it might get fixed in 10.5.1. EDIT: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306894 So it looks like the graphics card in my 1.5Ghz Powerbook (GeForce 5200 Go) SHOULD be compatible with the transparency, but isn't, so they're calling it a bug. Which may or may not get fixed :/
  2. I know what you're saying Bongo, but the shadow doesn't make sense anyway. The dancer spins so the shadow of her feet should go around each other. But one bit of the shadow is always in front of the other, so the shadow is wrong, which I guess makes up part of the illusion. EDIT: Is it supposed to be a shadow or a reflection?
  3. Hmmm. I don't know, not sure it is injected to be honest? Anyway, it's got me from Lancaster to Manchester without a problem (Except I took a rather large detour half way to Leeds but it seems unfair to blame that on the car), so I think the best plan is to forget that there was ever a problem, push it to the back of my already scatterish mind

    Ahhh Dilemma

So if someone put a Chris King and a Hope XC down on a table, and said you could choose one, you'd choose the Hope? I guess you run FSA Powerpros instead of Middleburns and you ride a DDG Shooter because "it's all you need", right?
  5. Under the dissy cap? On my engine there's a big plastic guard that covers the whole engine block. Under that there are 4 leads that run into the engine block which I believe is the distributor. Do I have to take these leads out or anything? Or just spray WD40 in that general area?
  6. Great. And now when the shit's hit the fan, you want us to help? You do know that most of this forum hates chavs, right?
  7. I'm gonna give that a go tomorrow, got some WD40 ready. Strange thing though, it seems to be working perfectly now. It just started fine, I've just been for a spin. Seems fine
  8. Hmmm, didn't know you could get the Zoot frameset. Have you always been able to get it? Yeah, I'd agree with that. I used to ride an Ashton (which the 24uk is based on) and now ride a Zoot (similar geo to the Inspired by the looks of things). The Zoot is just slightly roomier but there's not a massive difference at all. You'd certainly get used to whichever one you bought.
  9. It's not "fake", I guarantee it. It doesn't change direction at all. It's a trick of the eye.
  10. I did record it on my phone but it doesn't want to bluetooth to my laptop, so I can't upload it. Will try harder. Thanks for your thoughts anyway.

    Getting Fit

If you're talking to me, no I mean Powerbar. It's just a chin-up bar, but it says POWER on it so it's cool
  12. I saw it going clockwise - so I think their hypothesis doesn't work for me - I'm a totally left-dominant person (logic, facts etc).
  13. I have no idea where the air filter is, sorry! There were lots of other cars out in the same conditions as me though, so I think my car must have just been unlucky. If it's a bent con rod, surely the noise etc would carry on at high revs? Whereas my problems all disappear at high revs. I don't like phrases like 'write off'
  14. That was quite interesting actually. 14 hours a day! No wonder he's a beast!

    Woohoo

Yeah, the back of my 5g is really scratched - from going on a run with it in my coat pocket. There was nothing else in there, it's just that the pocket had a mesh lining which was clearly abrasive enough to scratch the iPod It's only cosmetic though, I don't care. Although now I can't use it as a mirror to look at myself when I'm lonely
  16. Right, so my car (1998 R reg Polo 1.6 Petrol) is being a bit queer. It all started on a very wet day a few months ago, the rain was so bad that there was about 6" of water on the roads. My car died suddenly. Since then it's not been right, but I haven't used it for 2-3 months. When you turn the ignition, it turns over fine (I think the battery/starter motor are fine) but the engine doesn't 'engage'. Sometimes it will start, others it won't. Usually if I sit there long enough it will start eventually. When it starts, it coughs and splutters all over the place. The whole car shakes at idle (1000rpm), and sometimes the engine can't manage and it stalls again. When the engine is idling, if I'm gentle with the accelerator, the car will rev nicely and at about 1500rpm, all the spluttering stops. From then up into the red (5000rpm or whatever), it's as smooth as it ever was. If I let it go back to idle and then hammer on the accelerator, it just seems to struggle and splutters lots and sometimes stalls. I can't really drive it like it is because it stalls all the time and doesn't always start again. Like I said though, it all dates back to when the car got very wet, and I think the two things must be linked. I know there's a few people on here who are quite handy with cars, can anyone help?

Sorry, they do look nice. I kinda want one, but then even 8Gb isn't really enough for me as I like to have all my music with me for when the mood takes me. There are programs for ripping DVDs or converting video files to iPod. There's one for the mac called iSquint, and for PC have a look for videora iPod convertor.

    Saving

Nope, most people on here seem to spend all their money on their bike. Which is fine if you ask me. The thing is, once you have a decent bike, trials is pretty damn cheap. I've spent under £150 in the last year, and that includes a new frame! Basically once you're up and running with a decent bike, you can spend your earnings on the other stuff.
  19. No it has to be high street because he needs them TODAY. Don't you Nick
  20. Oh right Still, that's no bad thing. I like my Zoot but some people are put off by the lack of a seat, plus you can't buy them frame-only anyway. Looking forward to seeing them on the streets.

    Woohoo

I use my iPod for listening to music
  22. Never heard of it. I have to use one called Ovid Medline but that's medical things only I think - there should be similar things for business papers though.
  23. That's interesting. 'Conflicting business interests' Anyway, geo taken from there: It's a Zoot
  24. If it's one of the new 20" iMacs then it's got a Radeon HD 2600 Pro card which is actually pretty decent. It should be able to run most games of the moment easily.
