Yeah it is. Chain rides were quite cool when Leech first did them (Manifesto?) but I reckon if you found the right chain they wouldn't be as hard as they look. Chain gaps on the other hand

I think the 'hidden' Google Earth Flight Sim must be on an old version - Mine is definitely not hidden at all. And then you get... And then... I downloaded it fairly recently though, it's version 4.2.0198 (Sept 12th 2007) Beta. Not sure why it's a Beta, I'm pretty sure it was just the one on normal download page. EDIT: According to Google, it's a feature of Google Earth 4.2 or higher

Teenage Angst Communal Agony Aunt Thread

I got life skillz and bike skillz (and cool nunchuck skillz too). Anyway. If she's worth it, she'll stick around. You'll presumably be finishing May-ish next year, right? That's only six months away, and a good chunk of that will be holidays. If you can last that long then you can move nearer her and have a rethink. At least that's something to aim for. I know that doesn't solve the problem really, but I can't help you out with that bit. You try and empathise with them, but then girls are f**king stupid and they don't do logic so I don't understand them most of the time -it's not possible. -
Calm down, calm down (Might be a bit old for some people on here) Seriously though, it's just a joke. No one seriously thinks all scousers are dole scum/thieves, so why make an issue out of it? But well done for emailing the guy though - if it actually was stolen, then he's been tipped off.

On mine it's just on the Tools menu. You can choose which airport to take off from, and which plane to fly. Pretty basic but still fun. Maybe I've just got a newer version? Try pressing Ctrl-Alt-A or just Ctrl-A.

Er yeah, whether or not Apple actually used that logo because of Turing is a guess I believe, no-one at Apple has actually said it. But on the subject of how good Wikipedia is, I use it all the time for my medical degree Back to the iPod thing: "Your ad here"

I have that mouse, it rocks. Anyway, can you remove any trace of the mouse driver in Device manager? That might be tricky without a mouse though. Then (restart and) plug it in again, and it should recognise a new device and install it automatically. I'm using the USB > PS2 convertor with mine, because that frees up a USB slot (I only have 4 ). It works exactly the same.

Nah, Hayes brakes are rubbish. I've got them on my XC bike and they're OK for that, but they've got nowhere near enough power/bite for trials. Save yourself the bother, don't try.

I'm Northern (ish) and I don't think I'm scum. Maybe you're just insecure? It soon will be considering the amount of inbreeding that goes on, experts warn.

What I would do is to put the new Sata one in and remove the old one, then install Windows on the new drive. Then when it's installed, just plug the old one back in. I'm not sure how your bios will handle it - whether it will take the SATA one as the primary (and boot off that) or whether it will revert to the installation on the IDE drive. However, it shouldn't really matter. Just boot up into whichever Windows you get and copy the files over to the new drive. Then you can format the old one. That's what SHOULD happen with any decent modern motherboard. However. You may run into issues with both hard drives containing an MBR. And I'm not sure I'd know about fixing that. Hmmm. Another way to do it would be to wipe the SATA drive, and then create two partitions. Stick all your files and stuff on one partition leaving the other one clear. Then remove the IDE drive and re-install Windows on the Sata drive on the free partition.

Well he would if he's from Matlock... But yeah, very dodgy. It's a shame we don't know who it belonged to, otherwise we could have some fun

Soles are made really cheaply. I think that's the biggest problem. But they also only have one moving pad, so you lose all the advantages of an open system brake, and you constantly have to adjust for pad wear. Also this probably reduces their power, but then again the BB7s only have one moving pad and they're powerful enough. They're also made by Hayes which automatically relegates them to the bottom of the pile The codes are full-on DH brakes. They're really heavy but apparently immensely powerful. Complete overkill on a DJ bike though.

Whoa that's cool. I have heard about that place but never seen it. My ex's family used to live in Tucson and she said it was like planes as far as the eye could see. Mental

Just get Deores or something. No point spending £140 on a brake for a jump bike. Hayes So1e are not proper hydro discs anyway, so don't judge from them.

Wow, didn't realise there was a flight sim mode - it's on the tools menu.

If you make a new marker ("Add placement"), the co-ordinates come up in there for you to copy/paste. I would have thought there might be an easier way, but I haven't found one.

I know what you mean. No, I don't think you can do that because those sidebar things are links from the 'Finder' program in OS X to a place on your computer. You can always add new links there, though. E.g. Have Music and then Music (Ext) or something. Desktop drives he means ones that are used in Desktop computers rather than laptops. Your Mac Mini is an exception though, since it uses laptop bits in a desktop case - that's how they make it so small.

It'll be 32 bit.

That's what I thought.

It was a guy called Alan Turing who was a mathematician and made loads of progress towards artificial intelligence. He killed himself by taking a bite out of a poisoned Apple. True story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_turing

He's not going to get banned. You might, if you carry on trying to tell people what to do, though.

It's in the job description
