  1. Yeah, I was gonna say - interest free overdrafts ***. It goes up £250 every year too - Mine is on £1750 now, and will go up to £2000 if I ask nicely. But you might want to see the other topic (made by boon) - apparently when you graduate, your HSBC account switches to normal overdraft interest rates (I.e. 8% or whatever) whereas most student accounts have an interest free grace period for you to pay off the overdraft (usually 18 months or something after you graduate I think?). So it might be worth going to another bank. Also when you open student accounts you can usually get some free junk (I got a 5 year railcard) so have a look at who is offering the best deals
  2. I just had a thought... Backflip to rail?
  3. Hmmm, so this guy who knows nothing about trials thinks he can battle against the big boys, just because he has a history of MTB frames? He's setting himself up for a fall I reckon. It does look quite nice though - I like the CNC circles in the dropouts (more weld area?). But it's not going to be that different to a lot of Deng frames (geometry wise) so I'm not really sure how's it's going to justify the price tag.
  4. Oh and Martyn said this, and Martyn said that. You're just name dropping HTH
  5. I did think this looked like an NMC topic when I read it. Jammy - start putting more effort into your posts or you'll be back there.
  6. Someone put a picture up a few weeks back of something very similar. Pretty crazy, anyway.
  7. Auto-Mod For Sale/Wanted topics are no longer allowed in New Members Chat. If you wish to post a For Sale/Wanted topic on Trials-Forum you need to read and follow this - http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....ounce&f=13&id=3 Topic Closed.
  8. Sounds like it to me too. Seriously, one of my discs stopped working suddenly and I thought there was no way it could be contaminated (and it looked fine). Anyway, I burnt the pads (on the hob, but it's better - and more fun - if you have a blowtorch) and cleaned the disc (soapy water, or proper degreaser if you have some) and it's now fine. Just try it, it doesn't take long. You can thank me later when it works. The only other thing is if you've worn through the pads - but I think you'd have noticed if you had metal-on-metal.
  9. There's some nice big pics of him riding it in MBUK this month, if that's any use... Probably not!

    Working In Retail

I think everyone else in this thread is on about being on the bottom rung of the ladder, though. Managerial conditions are obviously slightly different - for example 23k rather than 12k! You might have responsibility and pride in your work, but these people don't.

    Haha!

Please use the Best of the internet thread, chit chat.
  12. So if you actually do get a sponsor, what will you do? Will trials magically become fun again if you have to pay less for your bits? Your attitude is weird - and probably not one that will get you sponsorship. It sounds like if you get sponsored you would have nothing to ride for and you'd give up - hardly something that any sponsor is going to want. Like everyone else has said - a normal bog standard job for two months (or less) will buy you any bike you want. There's really no need to put your body in danger for a bike.
  13. If it's for the back brake, then yes.

    G-turn

Yes. If you watch that video that dave---thinkbikes.com put up, he does loads of them in that.
  15. Oh right, didn't know that. I don't use the 'my shared documents' thing, just share any old folder - much easier.

    Phase 1.3

I don't really understand - you've had the bike 3 days and you're wondering whether to get a stock? Don't worry about it. Mods are probably better for learning on, whatever height you are. Especially because (no offence) you look quite young and skinny, even if you're tall. The mod is fine.
  17. Ooooh, double figures Happy Birthday
  18. I'm not quite sure what you mean by that? If you have a read-only share then you can't create things in there at all. And if you have a full permissions for a share, you can delete whatever you feel like?

I can't do these, and they really scare me (killed my ankle trying them ages ago). So take this with a pinch of salt. But... I think when you get to the point where you change direction (front wheel goes from rolling forwards to rolling backwards) you need to give it a bit of a flick of the hips, and try to kick the back wheel up higher. If you have ever tried to do brakeless squeakers (i.e. front hops backwards without hopping), it's the same sort of thing. As with most techniques though, the other thing that helps is commitment and speed.
  20. Ow. That looks like it really hurt. The video was way over the top, which was funny (perhaps not intentionally but well done anyway).
  21. 'Worth' is a relative term though. I think that £25 for some coloured bits of aluminium is very steep. I can guarantee that they don't cost Deng anything like £25 to make... Fair enough if you were going to buy a brand new Magura, then some colourful mounts at the same time. But most people don't do that, and the mounts aren't something they would necessarily buy.

    Axle

Takes about 30-40 minutes to get to Chorley from Manchester area... Less if you're in Salford
  23. Yes Charlie, your computer is completely invulnerable to viruses (or in fact anything bad). I don't think keyloggers are a problem with unsecured wireless networks. You can get a keylogger in computer viruses (Trojans etc) but someone on your network shouldn't be able to run code on your computer. Whether or not Windows (or OS X) is completely secure from attack from other people on your network, I'm not sure. But again, you're spectacularly missing the point. If you don't have WEP then your credit card details (and paypal login, internet banking passwords etc) can be easily stolen. You might as well just shout them out across a crowded room.
