  1. You can buy the Avid adapters from Wiggle - I.e. the bit that connects the actual caliper to the IS mount. So get a 203 front one of them. No need for the +20mm or whatever. A 205 rotor will fit; you might need to put extra washers on the adapter, unlikely though.
  2. You're right to a certain extent. When YOU are in hospital, and you're far enough away from other people to make no difference, use your phone - it would only be your life in danger anyway. Mobiles don't affect many medical instruments, but the DO affect things like ECGs. Unless you know exactly what is and what isn't affected, then I suggest you turn your phone off when in the hospital. As someone else said, it's probably more about the annoying nature of phones than anything else - It would be a f**king pain in the arse if all the patients spent all day texting. The other thing is those 'Patientline' machines which cost a fortune both to make and receive calls. If you were allowed use mobiles, Patientline would go out of business pretty quickly I reckon (They're already waaaay in the red ).
  3. Right, I cleared up a load of crap from this thread. So back on topic now please. Or at least if you're gonna go way off topic, be nice to each other
  4. Er, this is all the crap from the other thread. It's all crap and now it's gone. Mainly I was just playing with the moderation options.

    Sure about that?
  6. STFU. I know you know what I meant.
  7. 14mm doubled --> 19.8mm according to my calculations.
  8. Presumably, if you're using one lever, you need to think about which brake engages first. If you used a cable disc and one brake engaged a lot before the other, the other one wouldn't ever come on. Which would be bad. But BB7s have the red adjusters and everything so it would probably be pretty easy to see them up so they both come on at the same time. Alternatively, by using a closed brake system like maguras, it won't really matter which brake engages first. So that sounds like a decent option. I'm not convinced that you've done your sums right, though. If you are saying that a a magura piston is 12mm diameter, you'd get DOUBLE the surface area with a 17mm piston - sqrt(2(12^2)). But the 18mm piston is pretty close to 17mm so it may work, perhaps it would be slightly more wooden. If you make a longer lever, it ought to work well.

  10. I take it it's the alu sleeve on the fun bolts that's the problem? If so can't you just cut the whole sleeve off? I am pretty sure it makes no difference to how the bolt works, it just looks neater with the sleeve.
  11. Equipped with what though? If you're carrying around bolt cutters and crow bars, then yes.
  12. They can't do anything without proof. You're innocent until proven guilty. I don't think trespassing itself is a crime - only if you've broken something to gain entry, in which case it's vandalism. Don't worry about it, and maybe PM Snappel on here to see what he says.
  13. Er, no. A photon has energy because it has no mass - the mass is converted into energy, at least that's the theory. Weird that the Hubble thing is calculated from stars which are millions of light years away. If the Universe had stopped expanding and was coming crashing back in on itself, we wouldn't see the effects for millions of years.
  14. Talk to Snappel about that sort of thing, but I am fairly sure that there's no such thing as being arrested for that.

    Ftp ?

Does Dreamweaver have an inbuilt FTP client or something? It's really pretty simple. You need to get an FTP client. FlashFXP is good, Filezilla is also good (and free). These two are roughly the same design/layout, other FTP programs might differ slightly. Anyway, with these two programs, on the left pane you have your computer, on the right you have the server you're connecting to. You'll have to press 'connect' somewhere (It'll be on one of the menus, have a look) and type in the server address/port/username/password (which you will get from whoever is in charge of the server). When it's connected (takes a second or two), you will see the file structure on the server on the right. It's then simply a case of dragging and dropping files/folders from one side to the other - it's very simple. Files that are copying are listed in the bottom pane, along with stuff like transfer speed, percent progress etc. When it's all done you can just close the program. Simple as that
  16. If you've got a reason you NEED to be up for something, I find that's good. Like I will stay up until 3-4am when I'm not at work or whatever, but when I need to go back, I go to bed a bit earlier (1am maybe) but I'll HAVE to be up at 7:30, so you just do. Meh, I can just sleep whenever - it's a real skill.
  17. Are you sure this wasn't sorted 4 months ago?
  18. Yeah exactly. Buy it, ride it, but expect to pay for a new frame in the near future. That's exactly what I did when I bought an Ashton ET which had a hairline crack (about an inch long) at the headtube. The seller claimed he had ridden it for a few months like that. When I got it, I rode it for a whole year before the frame died - and when it did break, it was in a completely different place (around the BB). So yes, like some people have said, the crack at the head tube will probably last longer than the one on the chain stay. But as long as you expect it to break soon, I don't see any problems. Just make sure you put some money aside for a few frame P.S. Helmets are good.

    My Curb Entry

You do realise this topic is 2 years old? Whatever, the video is here. It's called Monkey: http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=filebrowser/theboon
  20. Because the universe is moving at a speed kinda close to the speed of light. So as you look 'back' from the edge, you are seeing the light that was created when the universe was created. *Relative to us. They're not moving at the speed of light themselves - they're just coming towards us as we move towards them. At least I think that's what he's saying?
  21. Most network adapters in laptops/PCs can auto-sense uplink - I.e. they can recognise that it's a direct connection between two PCs (rather than a router --> PC). The Macbook is certainly this advanced, the Xbox probably is too. The result of this is that you don't need a crossover cable, any old one will do.
  22. Because 4D is much harder to visualise than 2D...
