  1. If you've got loads of files, then just set up a network and leave it copying for a few hours. It takes a long time though. If you've got a big memory stick (1-2Gb) then using that will be a lot quicker but a lot more faff. Or use an external hard drive. If you know what you're doing with computers and you've got a huge amount to copy, the fastest way is by putting the old hard drive in the new PC.
  2. Hmm, I love Regina Spektor, but I don't know that one. I'll try and find it. My top-played song is... Regina Spektor also! Fidelity is the song. Only 26 play counts though, I'm not sure how people rack up over 1000!
  3. That looks really cool. How 'good' do you have to be to do that sort of thing? I'm actually going kayaking on Friday. Only on a reservoir, mind
  4. Yeah, I had noticed that Charlie <est> had been inactive since he was banned. IPs don't match though. Anyway, I say give him the benefit of the doubt. If he says he's not going to be a dick then maybe he won't. It's not an amazing start though, is it? I mean insulting two members who have been here since the beginning and telling them what to do? I can't help but think he's probably learnt nothing. Oh well, we'll have to wait and see.
  5. Roadies are pretty boring though when you think about it. Anything that makes it more interesting/dangerous has to be a good thing. Plus they'd be pretty light with no sprockets/shifters/mechs/freehub etc.
  6. Find a post on this forum where he isn't taking the piss
  7. Oh yes The answer is... Phantom cog! Yes. But I unscrewed the 'cage' rather than sawing it off, and attached a jockey wheel there instead. I can't find it though, but it worked a treat. Yeah but on a road bike your seat is up high and it's much easier said than done. I was riding my mate's road bike in the pouring rain and the brakes didn't work, had to brake using my feet. It's soooo much harder than on a BMX.
  8. I have one of them, almost exactly the same. It's an old Shimano mech (almost as bad as that one) with the cage taken off and replaced with a jockey wheel. Worked fine on my trials bike until recently I swapped it for gears. Didn't realise anyone else had done the same thing! But I could whack it on the road bike. What sort of ratio do people use? EDIT: Now all I need to do is get a new wheel, or lock out my existing freehub...
  9. If you were going to spec a complete new bike, and you didn't know what you wanted, then it would be sweet to take a trip up the Tartybikes and pick stuff off the shelf. But most people already know what they want because they've seen pictures/reviews on TF and elsewhere. So I can't really see the advantage in a walk in shop for 99.9% of people.
  10. Plus if your foot comes out, you have no real way of slowing down. The other thing that scares me is that sometimes when I'm thrashing the pedals (Usually to try and draft a bus), I come unclipped. I reckon this would be REALLY sketchy if I had fixed gear. I'd like to try though. Can I convert my road bike to fixed? Or do you need horizontal dropouts?
  11. When I said 'gene', I meant chromosome. The chromosome is the y chromosome, I.e. only men have it. 90% of crime is committed by men, but we shouldn't judge all men as criminals, that would be stupid. We certainly can't lock up all men. Some of you will probably realise that I'm kinda referring to race, religion and terrorism. It's not an accident that I made this post right after that ridiculous petition thread. It was a demonstration of how not to generalise people - Something to think about, anyway.
  12. They're quite nice pics, but they look a bit washed out, lack of any real contrast. I'm sure it's nothing photoshop can't sort though.
  13. I'm this far || from getting a lovely 22" widescreen. Should I get it?
  14. Doesn't it hurt, being picked up by your penis?
  15. Bargain. How do you know what hub it has? I couldn't find where it said anywhere. Also what cranks are they? Not that it really matters.
  16. Auto-Mod For Sale/Wanted topics are no longer allowed in New Members Chat. If you wish to post a For Sale/Wanted topic on Trials-Forum you need to read and follow this - http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....ounce&f=13&id=3 Topic Closed.
  17. If Vince got all cleans apart from a 3 on one section, he would beat someone who picked up three dabs in separate sections. It's done by most cleans, then most 1s, most 2s etc.
  18. You need WinRAR. Download the trial (it works indefinitely anyway).
  19. Yeah, my comments weren't aimed at you particularly. A lot of the articles about this mosque mention how it's bigger than St Paul's, as if that was the most important thing. While we're on the subject of football, Wembley stadium cost millions more than this (and millions of taxpayers' money, UNLIKE this mosque), and is many, many times bigger than St Paul's. I bet the people who are denouncing this new mosque had nothing bad to say about that, even if they're not interested in football. At least a mosque is a pretty good cause. This whole thing is just very thinly-masked racism.
  20. Do they rattle about loads? Sometimes the bearings just work loose. Pop the end cap off, and there's two nuts under there. The one on the outside is a lock nut. Undo that one, and then take off the other nut which preloads the bearings (and a washer). Stick some grease in and put the preload nut back on. Tighten it up enough so the pedal doesn't rattle too much but still spins freely. Then replace the other bits in the order they came off. Tighten the locking nut reasonably tight, but make sure the pedal still spins afterwards. If it doesn't, you have to loosen it off and then loosen off the preload nut slightly (quarter of a turn) and then tighten it all back up again.
  21. No, it probably IS nero. You've just got some stupid settings that make pictures open in Nero. Go on my documents Click tools, folder options Click the file types tab Scroll down to JPEG Where it says 'open with', click change. If it comes up, choose 'select program from a list' Then choose Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (or whatever you fancy really) Check the 'always use this program to open this kind of file' box and press OK. You might need to change some file types the same way - E.g. JPEG, JPG (slightly different), BMP, GIF and any others that you are still having trouble with.
  22. It has been found that 90% of all prison inmates share a common gene. This so-called 'crime gene' can be tested for. The government can test for this gene, and they could arrest these people and put them to jail, and 90% of crime would disappear. Should we do the test? Discuss
