It allows you to stream media (videos, music etc) from a PC, direct to your xbox via a network. Admittedly, if you had a PC in your living room with the appropriate connectors and Windows Media Centre, it would do much the same thing. But xboxes are MUCH cheaper than most PCs, and quieter, smaller etc.

I got that email too Oh well.

Yes, but you are ignoring XBMC. I never play illegal games on my XBOX. In fact I hardly ever play any games, and since most games are like £7 now from Gamestation, I don't mind paying in any case. But it's all about XBMC

They use a different file system so you can't just stick your hard drive in a PC, which is annoying. Also, if the mod dies and your xbox is dead then there is no way of FTPing... Anyway, this is boring talk.

I'm thinking I will probably leave my car off the road since I don't really need it at the moment. It'll be kept in a garage for probably around 9 months, maybe a bit longer. What things should I do to make sure it'll be OK when I return to it? The only thing I know is that you're not supposed to leave the handbrake on (use chocks instead) since the brake pads can corrode onto the calipers or something. Anything else? Full tank of petrol ok?

Well there's basically the cosmetic stuff (lights, crystal case etc) which is fairly self explanatory, or the modchips. Mod chips start at about £20 and you install them yourself - you have to be pretty damn good at soldering though. Or you can 'softmod' where you use certain games and hack into the xbox, then install the new software over the old stuff. This is cheaper, and doesn't require opening the xbox case or soldering, but it's not reversible and you can run into trouble if it messes up. Check out this shop for all your modchip needs: http://kanection.co.uk/ And this website for all the instructions etc: http://xbox-scene.com/ Performance gains, you don't really get any. You *can* upgrade certain things like the CPU but it makes very little difference in games. However, if it's chipped you can run games off the hard drive, which means they load a LOT faster. It's not about the performance gains though - it's about what you can do with it. I already mention XBMC (which is the best thing ever) but there's loads of other stuff like SNES/Megadrive etc emulators. And of course being able to copy games. That's bad though.

Yeah, I've got an xecuter 2.6 which does me fine. Although I think next time I'll probably softmod and save the money. I've just (today) got a new switch bank since I lost the old one which meant the chip was permanently off. I used to have a 120Gb hard drive and that was schweet, but that xbox got stolen and the new one is only the standard 10Gb one. I'm not quite sure why you would want neons or anything like that (The LED light in the chip annoys me enough), but never mind, each to their own. Anyway, XBMC > * Connected to my PC = 130 Gb of Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park etc and loads of films. Rock on. I just bought a remote for it too (paid £6 ), which makes the whole thing a lot easier.

Good topic. I thought it was going to be some 'old' bike like a Zebdi or a Koxx Levelboss.

Yeah. I think my order came in about 4 days

I think the 183 rotor will be too big for a 180 caliper won't it? Avids you can usually space out, but it's not the same with Hopes. If you buy the rotor from Hope direct, I believe they can do any size.

That first one, the 360 off a drop at 2:42. Sketchiest. Thing. Ever. Fair play for trying it though.

This whole post by Danny makes me lol. And then I feel a bit sad that some people are so ignorant. But mostly lol. How many pubs do you know that were smoke free before the ban? It has never been a case of 'f**king off to another pub', has it? Well that's just complete toss. It's just under 30% of the population in total who smoke. Er, "in all fairness", maybe you should contemplate the billions of pounds that smokers cost the NHS, and the other billions when those ill people take more days off work. Maybe you go to the wrong kind of pub. I have never seen a kid get hit by a flying glass. Wow, that's probably the most ignorant thing in this post, which is no mean feat! About 8000 people a year die from complications due to alcohol. Compared to over 100,000 from smoking. If you don't understand the magnitude of the smoking problem, how can you possibly talk about the smoking ban? Smokers are jokers

A Real Bail Video... Me Included..getting Hurt Lol
Tomm replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Videos
Owwwww that looks bad. Looked like your wheel got stuck in the pallet, must've hurt that -
Haha yeah. I've got that at home somewhere. Cool

Yeah, southerners London is well expensive isn't it. You could do a similar thing round my area and it wouldn't cost half that.
-
Someone's been on Bit-Tech I ordered one a few hours ago, but I also read this in the T&Cs: So it looks unlikely. Especially as apparently some people have taken the piss a bit and ordered 500 - which will surely alert the people who process orders...

I'm not sure where the jury lies on it being as bad for you as smoking. Some say yes, some say no. It's all HERE. Apparently he can still provide shisha to be used outside, but in Manchester (even in July) it's probably a bit wet for that.
-
The thing is, people would just skirt around the prohibition by opening a pub that was a "shisha bar". To enforce any kind of ban it's got to be universal, otherwise people will complain and cheat the system.
-
I don't think you can buy a UN52 any more, they're more than a few years old. Basically the UN52 got replaced by the UN53 maybe 4 years ago, and the UN54 is the new one which has come out recently. It actually replaces both the UN53 and the UN73, presumably because Shimano aren't that interested in square taper any more. It's lighter and stronger than the UN52/3 since it has a hollow axle, but heavier than the UN73. They're all much of a muchness really though, just get whichever's cheapest.
-
On a completely different note, they announced the ban about a year ago, right? Well, in December this guy opens a Shisha bar in Manchester, with a promise from the council that the ban wouldn't apply. Except now they've changed the law so there are no exceptions, and Shisha bars are included in it. So basically he's f**ked. He's probably even more annoyed than Rich

Well done Mike, that was cool. Good to see some 'real' stuff getting into the mag rather than stuff that doesn't affect us at all like crazy road trips to Spain/Tokyo/wherever with Akrigg. lol yes Dave, well done. Though if Martyn thinks you're a cock, you're probably a cock (since he's practically the God of trials ). P.S. Does that tattoo belong to Carl?

Just for what it's worth, I'm going to say I'm well pleased that this ban has come in. I used to work in a pub and it was horrible, I couldn't help thinking every time I did a shift that my lungs died a little bit. But now it just smells nice and clean in pubs, it's awesome. You say they are taking away our civil liberties, but I look at it like this: The government are doing what the people want them to do. The majority of people are in favour of the ban, so the government is simply doing what the people want. Plus it'll save the NHS money, prevent millions of days off work (people diagnosed with COPD are ten times more likely to take sick days, apparently). Same with fox hunting - It just happens that you were on the receiving end of both the bans. I'm in support of both bans really, I think they're two of the best things this government has done.
-
It's mental how they walk away from that (almost) when you can die from crashes at like 30mph.

Let me know if you need some stepping rings (AKA filter adapters). I've got 52>55>58, meaning you can run 55 or 58mm filters on your lenses. It's better to buy bigger filters, saves you buying em twice.

No one said you were a paparazzi. I'm not quite sure who or what you're arguing against? We all agreed that listing your 5 computers was just a bit lame and no one cared. So why are you still arguing with everything written in this thread? Just drop it now.
