  1. Surely they've done the opposite - concentrated on making it look different, for no good (geometrical) reason. I think it's stupid and
  2. That seemed rude to me, but then maybe it wasn't intended to be. And from whence the confusion arose
  3. I have been having a think. Basically, the £16/month is ridiculously cheap, so they're obviously relying on people forgetting to send the right bills. Now I'm not the most organised person in the world, in fact I'm probably one of the least, so I think I would forget. I should probably steer clear, but it's sooooo tempting!

Yeah, people deal with perspective differently, and some people can see things that others can't. I really struggle to see him coming towards the camera too, but I can force it if I try hard enough
  5. It's annoying me, it really is. It's a £40 contract, 12 months but free for 7. So it actually works out at £16.70 ish a month which is awesome. I just know I'll forget or something
  6. I'm getting a new phone and I don't know whether to just get a normal contract from the high-street shop or go online with one of these dodgy cashback things. You've got to send the bill back after four months, then 6, then 7 then 9 or something. If you miss ANY, then you get no cashback. Basically they make it as difficult as possible. PlusI know I'm hardly the most organised person, I imagine I'd forget. Has anyone actually used one of these things and got their money back?
  7. He was saying you didn't have to be rude...
  8. I don't see the problem, looks normal to me.
  9. That is a really good tip though - Avids are super adjustable so you can bodge most things... Compared to Shimano or Hayes calipers anyway.
  10. Yeah, it's just going to be a case of practising. If you can hop forwards (by pedal kicking) and back / sideways, all fairly comfortably, then it's just a case of getting your weight in the right place. Once you get the hang of balance it's dead easy, but it will take some practise. Do you mean booning? I don't think that's especially useful to try when you're just starting.

Yeah, I photoshopped the disc out, but I think the hub is bigger on that side or something. And the brake cables were a dead giveaway so they had to go too.
  12. It sounds like you should avoid the Koxx then. For that sort of money, I would just build something up yourself with whatever parts you choose.
  13. What about the lumbricals? Part of them is in your finger if you want to be pedantic. As I do, most of the time But yeah, most of your finger movement comes from the forearm.
  14. Surely if it's for export then you wouldn't need to pay the Canadian equivalent of VAT. You always used to be able to claim back the 7% of any purchases made in Canada when you leave the country. I know they are on about changing that, but I'm not sure when. Maybe it's not happened yet. Either way, it's a lot of hassle and you won't get a UK warranty etc.
  15. Seeing as I'm in a good mood and trying to avoid revising for my exam in an hour, I thought I'd do it. However, since it's a pretty retarded question, I didn't think I should do a very good job. So here it is.
  16. So how exactly did you go from this thread to getting a Koxx Karbon?

Damn, I obviously didn't photoshop it well enough. You're quite right
  18. Someone posted this picture in another thread, and it looked a bit like an optical illusion. But I photoshopped it and now it's much harder to work it out. So the question is, is the rider (Chai) facing towards or away from us?
  19. Yeah, and the front disc has to be on the left so it only works one way (unless he flipped the picture for some reason) People see perspective differently though - for me I really struggle to force myself to see him coming towards me, it just doesn't make sense. But yeah, it's pretty cool.
  20. It depends how stupid you want to go. For example - are you gonna have a front disc? Magura? Even maguras are a decent amount heavier (~ 100g) than some Vees. I'm not sure what mod forks there are that are stupidly light, but on 26" you used to be able to get forks that are about 550g, made by USE. And types - again I'm not sure for mods but for stocks you can get sub 500g tyres easily. Oh, and don't forget to drill everything in site. Of course all these things are stupid if you actually plan to ride the bike. Sensible suggestion - Latex inner tubes. They're much lighter than normal ones (about 100g lighter per wheel) and they're OK. When they puncture they tend to go kaboom and need replacing, and they ARE several times more expensive than normal tubes, but I get the impression you're not too bothered about cost.
  21. Increase the strength at the headtube? Make a nice springy toptube for extra bounce? I was thinking about this - Manufacturers have messed about with just about every option with regards geometry, I can't see any major changes happening now. Perhaps the next step is to develop lively frames which are nice to ride. I remember my old Leeson just felt really nice, as did Ali C's Global ti frame, and I don't think it was just in the geometry. So maybe Monty are trying to do something clever like that. On the other hand, maybe they're just trying to make it look wank.
  22. I have no pips lol

    Ebay Scam?

Mark, it's the same guy in that thread, tombmx666. What a c**t.
  24. Number 7, although since about three quarters of my posts are in chit-chat and they don't get counted, I'd probably be fairly high in the running for top post-whore.
