    Bike Show

Hmmm, it's pretty good that the young talent is getting to ride at these things, but where are the big names? I know about Ashton but what about any of the other pro's?
  2. Haha yeah that's great. Although my mate says it's just not funny any more (after about the 3rd time that day ).
  3. Yeah but there's no problem with friction or pressure or force in your intestines so I'm not quite sure why we're talking about it. P.S. 'Villi' P.P.S. Think about nice smooth trainers playing football indoors on a nice smooth shiny floor = good grip. Then think about the same trainers outdoors on a slightly damp grass football pitch - rubbish grip. Football boots outside would be waaaay better, but they'd be terrible on the indoor surface. It depends on the characteristics of the individual pad/rim combo - I don't think there is a simple formula (P = F/A) that will tell you what is best.
  4. Supposedly they work well on chrome rims, but that's an extra metal coating used on rims which makes them a bit heavier and it's not something you can just add to the rim. I have never heard of anyone buffing a rim on a trials bike, I can't think that it would do much good. Get the angle grinder out
  5. That's what a sprain is, when you stretch/tear a ligament. Obviously there are degrees of damage that can be caused - from just a bit of a tweak that requires a day's rest to a full blown ruptured ligament that needs surgery, and everything in between. If you've fallen very badly then you need to go to A&E to get an x-ray to make sure it's not broken. After that you're probably better off seeing a physio because they will know the treatment for any ligament problems. A&E docs won't know that much really - it's not their job really.
  6. The one you've probably heard is a Fatboy Slim remix called 'Don't let the man get you down'. It's on Palookaville.
  7. Use videora. You can use iTunes to convert (not sure why you can't find the option) but it doesn't always work and it's slow. So instead, use Videora.
  8. Yeah, do this. MSN doesn't like you illegally sharing files so it deletes them if you click the 'open file' link within the MSN window. However, if you go to where it's saved and kinda bypass MSN, it's fine
  9. Saw a guy riding to uni in a below-knee cast. Awesome.
  10. Console yourself in that they will be working a shit meaningless job for minimum wage. That's the way I look at it. Besides, the world needs idiots to do the manual labour

    Heelys

Is this one of those stories where you pretend it's about someone you don't really know, but it's actually about your big sister?
  12. You know it's not a load-bearing zip tie, right? It's for the hose

    Heelys

I think they look kinda cool, I'd like to try some for about half an hour. After that I'd just get bored so they'd be a total waste of money. P.S. That video was kinda cool but they're still all about 8
  14. My ET frame has been cracked for at least a year, but I still use it. Don't think the crack's growing, which is probably a good thing since I can't afford a new frame
  15. Synovial (joint) fluid actually But my ankles click because of the tendons/ligaments running over the bone, it's a bit different.
  16. Yeah, as long as either you or clive knows what geo to put on a cross country bike you'll be fine because the quality it pretty much second to none. I'd just be a bit worried that you could easily get the angles all wrong - especially as presumably there's nothing you can copy. But yeah, good luck.
  17. Is it a British mobile in the US? Or a proper US phone number? If it's the former then it shouldn't matter at all - just send it to the British number. Otherwise you'd need to add the USA prefix.

    24" Tyres

That's what I've got. No complaints, although the moto is rubbish if it's even slightly wet.

  20. You will be at least 5% fat I'm sure. You need fat around all your organs, it's essential. Even in his Mr Olympia phase, Arnold Schwartzenegger still had something like 3% body fat, and that was only a temporary thing for the competition.
  21. The thing about it giving you arthritis is a myth - Apparently it's not true. But I doubt it's particularly good for your joints...
  22. Fair enough. Have you considered other companies that make custom XC frames? They might be more experienced than Clive in this area...
  23. You obviously know a lot more about cars than I do, so this is just a common sense thing really. That Corsa second hand with the body kit will most likely have been owned by a bit of a boy-racer and I'll bet it's been ragged.
  24. Have you tried everything on the market XC-wise? I mean 6'5 is pretty tall but it's not gigantic, there must be a bike out there for you?
  25. If you want a pretty short frame and you know what geo you'd like, then Leesons are great, there's nothing quite like having your own custom-made frame. Having said that, I think I saw in the other thread that you're a big guy, I'm not so sure that a Leeson would stand up as well as something aluminium.
