  1. I did something similar when I was little. I fell of a climbing frame onto my back and I couldn't move my legs. Well scary! By the time I got to the hospital I was OK though, apparently it was just a muscle spasm in my back.
  2. ...is so fat her passport photo was taken from Hubble?
  3. OK, topic cleaned up, Jebend warned for flaming. Back on topic please I pretty much agree with that. But a lot of the time when people nit-pick it's because of other posts by the same person which might have wound them up in the past... But yeah, back on topic now please
  4. I've heard this theory before - every time someone/something has a choice in life, the universe can go in separate directions and that there's a parallel universe somewhere with the other choice. But is there actually a reason to think that might be the case? Or is it just a mindf**k thought up by some crazy dude with no real basis in science?
  5. You couldn't use aerobic respiration on a sidehop if you tried. The timescale is just too short. If you're doing a section for, say, more than 20 seconds then you'd need to breathe. Sprinters (100-400m) do almost entirely anaerobic, yes, but towards the end of a 400m race they'll be part anaerobic and part aerobic. I read something saying that on average, javelin throwers get 7% more distance if they grunt! Obviously they don't do it because they need the oxygen, but apparently it helps. It must be psychological I'd imagine.

  7. I bet that just means digital satelite I.e. it's on Sky (or the American equivalent).
  8. Make a car out of washing machines like they did on Top Gear
  9. Haha, I like her T-shirt.
  10. I went in a limo with my girlfriend at the time. Her Aunty worked in a funeral home, so she dropped us off in a limo, for free naturally. Looking back it would have been cooler to arrive in one of the hearses I wouldn't pay for it though. So yeah, my contribution to the thread: Go in a hearse.
  11. I don't really care about the crime aspect of it, I was just talking about the health aspects. But yes, (tobacco) cigarettes and alcohol are both much more deadly than cannabis. But saying it's the lesser of two (or three) evils doesn't mean it's good. The government's hands are tied - they can't just ban alcohol or cigarettes because it just wouldn't work because this country runs on fags on drinks. Cannabis is one thing they CAN outlaw, which most of this country's voters will support, rightly or wrongly. As people have said (^^^), the people that want to smoke it will still be able to get hold of it (still with no real risk of serious penalties) and the world ticks along as before. Perhaps a small minority are deterred from smoking cannabis because it's illegal, but that would be younger people I'd imagine - exactly the people who need to be deterred. Read the article if you're interested - it basically says that people who smoke cannabis before the age of 13 are most likely to develop schizophrenia). So maybe this health policy is aimed at reducing the number of young people smoking cannabis and it's smarter than you think. I don't know, I'm inclined to think that this country is probably run by some big brains who know what they're doing.
  12. You obviously didn't look very hard. Never mind. The problem is that smoking cannabis is correlated with psychosis (I.e. Schizophrenia). This is not in doubt - People that smoke cannabis are more likely to have mental health problems with psychosis - twice as likely in fact. BUT (and it's a big but), this does not necessarily mean that the cannabis is the cause. Perhaps people with a tendency towards mental health problems have a slightly different personality to others, and this personality makes them want to smoke. Or perhaps smoking is a way of coping with the disease in the early stages. THIS PAPER in the BMJ says that there is a causative relationship (I.e. smoking cannabis CAUSES psychosis). In addition it's fairly well-established that smoking makes psychotic symptoms worse for those who have the disease. Which is obviously different from saying smoking is the cause of the symptoms in the first place, but it's clearly still an important thing to think about. Also don't forget the damage it does to your lungs and whatever else though. Just search for cannabis and psychosis in google scholar or whatever. There's hundreds of articles. I know this has been a bit of a rant, but the truth is that I personally don't really care and if I had to give my opinion, I don't think it should be illegal. But I do have to laugh when all the stoners spout a load of shit about how it's not even slightly harmful, they're just wrong.
  13. If you use them often, then camelbaks are probably less hassle than any other option. I use mine every week and all I ever do is fill it up before I go out. I don't even take the bladder out of the bag to do that... They only go manky if you leave them for a few weeks, and even when they do it's a 10 minute job to sort it
  14. Soooo... You don't know what the word is, or what it means? Brilliant.

Well not knowing who that guy is, it's hard to get excited over that news. He does, however, have nice pictures of boobies on his website

    .,

Yep, Shimano QRs are by far the best. Plus you can just nick em off old bikes. Hope QRs for example are totally rubbish - I relegated mine to my road bike so I could have the cheap Shimano ones on my trials bike...

I agree with Max really. Topman and H&M do just jump on whatever bandwagon is popular at that moment in time. They're usually a few months late to the party though, so their stuff is never really cool in the scene it's intended to be. I buy stuff from a few places, including Topman, Primark and H&M for cheap plain stuff and then more expensive places for other stuff. As long as you mix it up and don't just shop in one place, it's fine. I've even got a jumper from Tesco that I really like. Fits well, looks good, nice material and was cheap. The only problem is that any f**ker can go and buy it in any one of the thousand or so Tescos throughout the country, so it ain't exactly exclusive. So if you pay a bit more you can usually get something a bit rarer which is always good. Like Howies. That's the problem I have with expensive stuff like Abercrombie and some of the older chav makes like Burberry, Fred Perry. You pay loads for them but they're still common as muck if you go out on a Friday night. If you're just going to be a clone and copy everyone else, why not just go to H&M - at least it's cheap!
  18. Nah I was only saying that because I've heard some of your other stuff and it's really good. Much better than this one
  19. I don't think that's what he wants, Tom. Those two words share several letters (O, P, Y, R, I, G, H, T, A and L to be precise)
  20. I couldn't download it before, just had a listen now. Sorry, I don't like it at all! The synths are disturbingly out of tune (wrong key?) with the chorus, it pains my ears! The beats are weird but then I know that's the D&B thing, but it's too slow for that? Generally I tend to like covers when they add something to the original or move it over to a different genre (See Jose Gonzalez's cover of Heartbeats, Radiohead's Nobody Does It Better and Amy Winehouse/Mark Ronson doing Valerie). But to me you don't really add anything to set it apart from the original. Now I know it's not a 'cover' as such, but I still think it needs to sound more different if you want it to be interesting. If it's just to be played in the background in a chillout part of a club then I suppose that's a bit different. I feel a bit harsh saying this because it's obviously taken a lot of work and it does sound very professionally-made. But I don't like it Just one question: How do you isolate the vocals and stuff? Do you just have to buy/download the track with no backing or can you do something cleverer than that? I always wondered this.
  21. He has the thinnest legs I have EVER seen on a man.
  22. I thought most people did really struggle to listen to coldplay anyway? But yeah, I love Lily Allen. Oh and Smile is surely her most annoying song?!
  23. From what I understand, they said that on health grounds ONLY, there was no case for changing it back to Class B. They quoted something like you needed 5000 young people to smoke cannabis to get one new diagnosis of schizophrenia. Obviously schizophrenia is a very serious disease and not to be underestimated, but a 0.02% risk is not very much. You could argue that this risk is acceptable, which is what the government's advisors were saying. (I wonder what the risk of tobacco smoking causing lung cancer was... probably in the region of 10%? Now that's a significant risk, but tobacco smoking isn't banned). But the government has to think about loads of other things too - policing, social disorder etc so it's not purely a health issue. It's also a very hot political topic - and raising the bar is also quite a safe bet which has more to do with the government's decision. Like a lot of people have said though - it won't make much difference to anyone's lives, whether you smoke or not. My feelings are that I really don't care about it
  24. Yeah, those pictures look sweet with the longer lens. That first one looks awesome, just a shame about the face. I reckon you could recover most of it in Photoshop though? Good skills all round
