There a little retail park near the station with an Argos and Toys R US which I parked in before, think that's free in the evenings. Or there is some parking near near the MK Gallery just off Midsummer Blvd. -

Who's the newbie? There's plenty for a retired rider to ride. -

Would be great if this could be made a sticky, as there are a lot of riders asking how to do certain tricks and this website will help them. -
Barrow Farm Trials Park - Suggestions!
Nick Manning replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Trials Chat
I first went to Barrow Farm last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. This year I have already been about 5 times, one weekend I went on the Saturday and rode with Kyle Livesey and guys from the Birmingham area, I then went back on the Sunday to ride with Joe Maher and others. On both day's the set up was the same, but the people there were different. Barrow Farm on a whole is amazing to ride, like Joe has said, whatever your style, you can ride it how you like and enjoy it, but what makes it so much better than a street or natural ride is that You can ride both there, there is no travelling to spots, it's great on the social side for meeting new riders and new friends. The Mitchell family have created something to help the trials community grow. I have read the other comments and it is noticeable that the key issue is travelling along way to get there and if you don't drive there is quite a distance from the nearest rail station. But as Joe said, if you can club together with some mates, you can reduce your costs by car sharing. If you are travelling by train, try and get in contact with someone that is driving, and see if you can get a lift form the station. If it's a long way to come down, take a weekend road trip, travel over on the Friday night, ride Barrow one or both days, or ride somewhere else local to Barrow or somewhere on your way home on the Sunday. Ideal to do with the summer coming up. I myself live in Woking, Surrey. It is about 75 miles 1hr 20mins to Barrow, I pretty much live the complete opposite side of the M25 to it, but it's well worth it every time, and it would be great to see more rider's there as it is a great venue. The UK has been screaming out for trials parks and we have had little success with local councils, but thanks to the Mitchell family there is a decent park to ride, it would be a great shame if we ever lost it. -
I agree with Josh. Your videos are always of you going huge, this seemed more laid back and fun. There was a lot more flow in your riding in this video. Would love to see more videos of you riding like this. Keep it up Damon

yes that is correct Matt. I myself am using a BB7 with 185 rotor, I bought it with a 165 set up, just changed the adapter and was ready to go.
-
All Avid disc brake calipers are the same size, regardless of being cable operated or hydraulic. What determines the size of rotor required is dependent on the adapter size. A front avid disc caliper will generally use either a 165mm, 185mm or 203mm adapter. Remember all Avid calipers are post mount, so check what fitment you need. For trials forks it will be a IS to post mount adapter.

That spot looks amazing Adam. The weather really makes the spot, especially with the surrounding hills.

You mean Sunday 1st May Luke
-
No worries Rich, see you soon.
-
This is looking to be better than last year, can't believe I'm going to miss it
-
Rich, you guys should come to Porthcawl, it's Gavin Bedfords memorial ride, there will be loads of riders there, old and new.
-
Come ride Poole

I agree with how the video looks. I am disappointed with how a lot of the lines look small when they are pretty big. You'll have to teach me the art of camera placement Joe

Cheers for the comments guys. I've just changed my frame today. I am now riding a Echo Pure 2011, not ridden it yet so we shall see how I get on with it.
-
Hey everyone, finished my second video. Hope you all enjoy, comments always welcome.

Axle will fit fine, the frame is a 135mm width. The rim isn't a 26x2.5 that'll be your tyre size. Trials rims measure up from approx 38mm wide -48mm wide. The tyre may be too wide for the frame, but this depends on what rim you are using.

Hi Josh, it sounds like you most likely saw us at one of the many cycle Southend events. Unfortunately we have no demos with them at the moment due to lack of council funding. What bike do you currently have? The Phase 1.1 is the best spec of the three models. Everything is transferable to another trials bike. The forks are a standard 1" 1/8. The frame and fork brake mounts are 4 bolt mounts. The cranks use an external bottom bracket. Great spec for the money, and currently you can get a real bargain at the moment if you search around online. The weight of the 1.1 isn't a really light spec nor is it a heavy spec. But the 1.1 will happily take any upgrades you buy if you decide to do so at a later date. Hope this helps Josh.

There are a few riders in Bournemouth. I shall be down there that Saturday. PM me and I'll give you my number.

Joe, where has all this skill come from, thats 2 videos in a row that have been amazing. It's about time you got your act together and started riding more. Was great to see you nail some of lines, must be due to having tread on the the rear tyre

The riding in this blew my mind. All of the riders went beyond the expected. Who knew Joel could gap his Leeson, lol. Quality video, really want to ride those spots with all the flat banks.

Fair enough, sounds like you've thought of everything. Just see how it goes. Hopefully it will be successful.
