  1. I jumped off the top of one of those, without diving. And that took me quite a while to pluck up the courage! There were 6 year olds just running, jumping and flipping and all sorts off that sort of height.
  2. Cool I'll give you directions to my house and then you can just swing by on the way and pick me up
  3. I'm going to head down to Toad Rocks in Tunbridge Wells for a bit of natural on Sunday, and then do some street afterwards. Super Fly Sy won't be coming down until about 4ish, and Rob will be working until 5:30. So unless anyone else wants to start early, I'm happy to start at 4. Of course, everyone is welcome back to mine afterwards (in Tonbridge - 4 miles away). And if need be, there is the sofa Spode
  4. Sunday was a pretty good ride. Darren "Lee" Hill came along to give Fat Pants his yearly massage, and took some photos. He went home at 5 and missed some of the best riding, but took a few shots in the interim that came out fairly well. He's got the next two years to get used to be camera http://www.thinkbikes.com/gallery/?dir=./s.../london26aug07/ A couple of example shots:
  5. Are you sure it was the frame making that difference? I'm unsure of the geometry difference, but you might find the cock-pit (heh) size is different. So adjusting the stem on your Zoo Pitbull might give the same effect. You could up spending money just to get that extra 10cm and find that's not the problem. Equally, it could just be in your head - it's a nice bike and for some reason you can ride it better.
  6. That's mint Kudos for attempting it. I think a back flip would be easier and this is something I've been toying with the idea of trying when I find a suitable place to do it. Get to the edge, parallel to the wall. Do a 90 degree turn so your back wheel is pinched on the edge and then just throw yourself backwards. It's easier to back than front flip, and the pinch should help a little too.
  7. I did an image attachment - but it told me it wasn't attached So I just uploaded it instead.
  8. Here's mine. I just finished setting it up, so I thought it would be nice to The swirly picture was the result of a random Google image search. This is two 22" displays (1680x1050), running Fedora 7 Linux. On the right hand screen you can see I have both Windows XP & Windows Vista running under VMWare. Amarok, FireFox, Thunderbird, aMSN, Azureus, GIMP, Putty, to identify a few of the icons. It's my first (proper) time fiddling with VMWare and I have to admit, it's one of the coolest things to ever be invented.
  9. Happy Birthday FP. As a gift, you can have a free massage from Darren "Lee" Hill.
  10. Christ, can you leave a little bit of spring for everyone else to have a bit?
  11. I'll see you there. I'm still knackered from riding with Ali C & Adam. And Rob gave me quite a pounding the other day at the pallets. My body aches!!!
  12. HAH! And Tall_Rob was convinced they would be able to do it all through keyhole surgery... LOL
  13. My Rohloff was probably the best purchase I ever made. Well worth the money.
  14. Christ. That leg really is making you bored.... If you're going to put that much thought into every post you make, at least press the enter key occasionally
  15. Some interesting thoughts, and I'm happy to discuss this. Although this was more of a news announcement....". (don't take that the wrong way Phil) 1. I disagree. Trials is getting more popular and the basics of trials will help you with ANY bicycle discipline. In fact, thinkbikes.com Dave only started learning trials because of his XC riding. 2. I can see your point here, but I think they will notice progress within 2 hours and they will certainly go away knowing 10x more about it than before they turned up. And that knowledge will allow them to progress outside of training. As with musical lessons - you don't get taught to sing, to play guitar, you get taught the means to teach yourself. 3. True. But that's the point of advertising - showing a market ignorant of a particular brand about one they should be remembering. What's the point in us advertising to people like, when you know already know about them? If they want in on trials, a 10% discount is incredibly useful and at least pays for the training. I also think Tarty's prices for an entry level trials bike, would be better than your local shop - assuming (which is quite an assumption) that they even stock one. I'm not suggesting our model on this is perfect. In fact, Dave and I are already discussing some minor changes. But we do believe in this strongly enough to think it worthwhile doing alongside the demos.
  16. I've used the 06 and 07 rear Hopes and love them to bits. I find your warping problem a little crazy - it sound like you're not setting it up correctly, perhaps due to a sticky piston (not uncommon). As far as the BB7, they really do have an amazing amount of bite - although I've also ridden a few poorly set up ones that aren't that great. But personally I prefer a little modulation (hence the Hope), and it's a little easier on the fingers not having to yank a cable. I can't really comment on the longevity of the BB7 as I've never owned one. However, my point is, the Hope should be fine - instead of giving up on it, perhaps get some help setting it up. Failing that, I've got a brand new 06 Hope here if you want one cheap
