Thinkbikes.com - Merrist Wood Summer Show

Well I went to the fracture clinic yesterday. They re-x-rayed mine about 6 times and couldn't find a fracture. Which means I have tendon/ligament damage or whatever. So they've put me in a walkable cast instead. Same time off riding, in actuality involves more rehab I would have posted it yesterday but I came down with some sort of stomach bug / food poisoning. Not my week! -

Yeah, it was fairly amusing. Both of us with the same address, both with problems with our left foot, both having done it yesterday... Lots of reasons. Mainly because my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. Allegedly. -
Ouch. I did exactly the same thing, but with a much smaller gap. But I was landing on a stack of about 4 pallets. I managed to put my arm straight thought the middle of the slats. REEEALLY hurt my elbow and hand...

LOL. You're not going to believe this.... Rob wanted to go to A&E, so I figured I may as well tag along and get mine looked at. So after some checking and an x-ray, it turns out I BROKE MY ANKLE!!! I'm in a cast for six weeks, and then possibly another 6 weeks of rehab. Freaking hell!! I was riding all day on it! -

I'm glad you approve And yes, in a few days when my ankle is feeling happier. She was using my Canon 300D. Some of the shots where taken on Rob's Panasonic Lumix DMC-F27. -

Yup, that's Dave. Tall_Rob made he debut on this one too and did excellently. I managed to sprain my ankle while warming up, but carried on regardless. I couldn't get my shoe off when I got home!! -
We don't take pictures at all our demos, but it was a particularly sunny day yesterday so we thought we would. Besides that, we were breaking in our new demo rig, courtesy of tartybikes.co.uk. Big thanks to Adam & Dave for funding that one My girlfriend was behind the camera most of the time, and took a splatter gun approach. I just had to sort through around 600 photos and decided that these were the ones worth putting up. http://www.thinkbikes.com/gallery/?dir=.%2...Fmerrist2007%2F I also did some GIMP work and stitched a few together. **new** Tartybikes Website Update 18th Oct
spode@thinkbikes replied to AdamR28's topic in Website Updates
Looking awesome guys - and thanks for pulling all the stops out to help us too, despite being up to your neck in stock (and I don't mean the cooking kind...) Maybe you should make the raffle a paid one. Everyone sticks in a quid and the winner gets +25% in credit at Tarty -
Not bad at all. Pretty damned good in fact. Bike looks a little big on you, but I guess you'll grow into it How old are you, 13?
-
Ah yes, I know the stuff. We used to use it in technology. All those years ago....
-
How did you make that without that horrible cringing feeling running down your back? The THOUGHT of polystyrene is making me feel horrible!!

Hmm, that's slightly different and you can do that with or without a tap - but still nice. I think what they are talking about it clearing it and landing 180 on two wheels. That's a tap 90, but pivoting off the front. Not a slow pivot, but a fast one. I find it a little more controlled than just hopping it. And if you screw up it hurts less. I find the trick to getting them with the pivot is that you have brake a LOT sooner than you think you would as you need to be right on the very edge - almost pinching it. I think I might even hit below the edge and basically tap and roll it in to a pinch. Really depends. And then yeah, just tuck it in a bit!

I have Viz bars on my KOT and Zoo! bars on my Simtra. If they didn't have respective logos on them, I'd struggle to tell the two apart. Love em both

LOL! Sorry Rav. Cultural divide and assumptions getting in the way there That's why I use Spode (my middle name) instead of Andrew!
-
Is that you riding Rafal? How tall are you/him ? Makes the bike look small...
-
More than welcome to stay at ours for a night or two. We are 35/40 minutes from London. When I say We, I mean Tall_Rob and myself.

I've had welds crack, had them rewelded on the weld and they have cracked again very quickly. I found the only way to stop it was to have a plate welded on. Move the stress up to a part of the frame that isn't as weakened.. Might not be an option for you though....
-
Damn straight! You're not improving fast enough for my liking. Gotta get a stick up yo ass. I try and push Rob too. But he just gets annoyed with me and tells me he's learning..... I know he listens really! *tear swells in eyes*

I'd be interested in one of those, I think it's really original. I do think you should be charging more though. You'd be better off getting 50% less sales at a higher price than loads of cheap ones. It's intensive stuff.

Yeah, well that wasn't me! It was Paul... I'm scared of heights (and rightly so). Yeah, the video was bleached annoyingly and the lens was dirty (not my camera). And that 270-90 gap came out really nicely, but too dark. It's tempted to re-render it with brightness up - it looks fine on my monitor, but crap on my TV. As Pete says, I'm not sure about the music either. I chose it because I thought the beat really fitted the intro, which is what I was going for. But the problem with Progressive Rock is that it tends to change a lot. And the fact it changes so much, it didn't quite work. But I was in too deep to change it really and I felt if I didn't finish it last night - I'd never finish it!!! -

Yeah, wouldn't catch me doing that in a hurry. It's not particularly skillful, just dangerous...
