  1. http://www.thinkbikes.com/gallery/?dir=.%2...london110307%2F Pictures from today's ride. Still getting used to the camera! My first SLR Couple of example shots:
  2. Yeah! I wouldn't borrow it otherwise. And I've been really looking forward to it!!! Hence wanting to collect it tomorrow so I can get used to it.. http://www.thinkbikes.com/gallery/?dir=.%2...london110307%2F Pics from today.
  3. I was going to suggest the same thing. NTL uses a transparent proxy that can cause issues. So try configuring it with another proxy server. Or SSH in to an external box and set up a local SOCKS server. See if that fixes things.
  4. I had a pretty good ride actually. Didn't let the frame get to me. That's going back to the welders again until KOT send me some more. Who cares about weight, I'm gonna have some huge plates and shizzle welded on. I'll post pics! I got some good photos though. I'll put those up later. And looks like Chai is lending me his Aorta for the Essex Bike Trials on Sunday
  5. I wasn't suggesting it isn't interesting. I'm just saying it just as interesting as watching trials..
  6. And you think watching Olympics at the moment is any more interesting?
  7. Oooh. More people coming than I thought. You call get to see the huuuuuuge cracks in my frame. Today will probably be the day it breaks!
  8. Do they teach trials in schools? no. Do they teach pole vault in schools? yes. So I'd say it's more mainstream
  9. Well, if it's down to both of those committees to decide. Maybe we need to put a proposal there way?
  10. I think if you can remember how much stuff you've broken, you've not broken that much
  11. I wouldn't say that at all. They did answer the question - it's yet to be decided and currently not in their hands.
  12. After not managing to find any definitive answers to this question, I e-mailed in. Thought you might want to see the responce. So that's not a no...
  13. Tall_Rob can do it! I'll try and get it filmed on Sunday. I've not seen him do it on anything particuarly high though. I expect he's building up the confidence. But he back wheels it and just chucks it around 180 on the back wheel in one hop.
  14. Gay? Is this some sort of new concept? Does it involve peaches?

    Bangor Ride!

Not to sound unsupportive, but I just found the video a little boring, and it could have been edited and filmed a lot better. Buy hey, you did ask.
  16. Clean the rotor in boiling water and a new scourer. Boil the pads. Or stick them in the oven. Or a blow torch. This usually brings it all to the surface. Then use a metal file to just file off the layer. Unless the lever feels REALLY spongy, I wouldn't bother bleeding it. You shouldn't need to bleed them that reguarly at all.
  17. If Matt doesn't come, I refuse to wear trousers.
  18. I think it looks awesome. If I ever move away from KOT, it'll be towards one of these - especially with the horizontal drop-outs.
  19. Probably. It's a bit early to mention it mind you..
  20. I rode an M4 on an Orange Zero for years. Loved it. But I kept snapping the disc mount. It had two tiny lugs. They either cracked - or pulled right off. It was poorly designed. It is a pity on the lack of disc mounts though. Everyone should have a right to a choice, but if you want to run dual discs, you have such a limited choice right now. If the Mission Reefers had disc mounts! (Dave rode those for years - uber cheap!). I've been sidehopping a lot to the left recently, despite having my left foot forward. I can now side hop in both directions equally as high - if anything, my "weak" direction is better. And I screwed them up a few times and only hit the frame, not the disc
  21. If I remember rightly, when I went riding with you I had just replaced the rear rotor and it was still bedding in somewhat. But I don't remember the disc slipping particuarly - if my disc is slipping, I wouldn't want to ride it! I know Matt was commenting on it looking like it was slipping when I was doing some taps the other day, but I think that's because I'm really lazy at pulling the levers - something I noticed riding Maguras - I really struggled to pull the lever hard enough. I also think the angle I'm running my levers at doesn't help. I run my levers quite close to the bars, and at the angle I have them at - when I'm back wheeling I can't pull them in as far (damn wrists). Rob and I were just talking about this, and he was saying the only time its ever slipped was when he didn't pull the lever hard enough. When doing pedal hops and things you barely have to pull the lever to get it to lock, so it's easy to become complacent and not pull hard enough on more powerful moves. And Rob is 6'6" and weighs a fair amount more than me. My face plant clip is nothing to do with the disc failing! Go watch it again It was just me being a klutz. I've been riding Maguras for the past few weeks, and I've just got my DD back up and running. The difference was astonishing. The only way I got the lock everyone talks about with Maguras, was using tar. And although that locked on at first, it comes off over time. And the first time you apply it, it locks and then stays on because the pads are stuck to the rim, which was a horrible feeling and not to mention embarressingly noisy! PersonallyI feel that any brake that needs constant grinds, tar application, wheel truing and overall looking after in the sport we do, can't be right. Disc, straight out of the box and never needs touching. There were other reasons for me not liking them. But as you say you didn't have the confidence in my disc. I didn't have any confidence in the Maguras. But after riding it for a while, I learnt to trust them and it was definetely holding. (pre-tar with just the grind though, It slipped through on many occasions just doing simple things). Prawny - you're welcome to stay with Rob & I anytime, and you can give both of our bikes a proper ride
