VNC is a deffo. If you can, tunnel it over SSH on a non-standard port.
-
It tends to "judder" instead when you try and modulate a rim brake. I can't stand the sound of rim brakes and it really doesn't us any favours.

I think bikes with gears under a certain ratio (i.e not capable of much speed), with no saddles should be allowed on the pavement.

Stock Advice, not Mod. I run 20/18. Team mate Dave runs 22/21. I know a couple of riders running 16/16 and they can get up/gap bigger stuff than me. I'm not convinced that when it comes to stationary tricks the gear ratio makes any difference. It makes a difference for run ups and rolling tricks. I find with my slightly stiffer gear, I can ride up to something and kick straight on to it without having to use a tap. In certain scenarios that's useful. I tried 22/19 once and hated it. It just made everything hard work. For me, when I have to ride demos for two solid days, the looser a gear I can get away with the better as it uses less energy. I'm considering moving to 20/20 because of this. How's this for crazy - at one point Dave was running (without realising) 20/21, i.e UNDER a 1:1 ratio and he we was still doing static 8 foot gaps.

The "i'm About To Leave Home For Uni In A Strange City"
spode@thinkbikes replied to ScotchDave's topic in Chit Chat
When I went to uni, I stopped riding for the first and drank waaaay too much and put on about 2 stone. Bad idea... Try and keep it up. There are loads of riders in Bristol and you've chosen a great place to go riding! Trials riders can always find spots to go riding That's what makes trials fun, seeing lines where others don't. -
Ditto. And for the back. (Christ - not another thread where Spode's promoting KOT MS2s and Hope Dual Discs??? Jeez, get a life!!)

I think this has about as much chance of being enforced as the number plate law. I've got a bell on my XC bike and I love it. I ring it as I bunny hop off kerbs I think it could be a new trend to put a bell on a trials bike. One, some people are ****ing idiots and walk directly in the way and it would be a good way to warn them. And also, just because it might be quite fun to ring a bell just before a drop off Yes.

I don't think I've ever gotten out a tape measure and measured... But I think about 4" above my handle bar height? I tap pretty much everything, but I've never really gotten particuarly big with them.
-
I think you'll have warranty issues if you ride trials on it too.
-
Well, trials riders don't get directly paid, for say being trials riders. They make their money through sponsorship, demos, endorsements etc. etc. just like any sporting figure.

Reminds me of Ryan Leech. I like it.

I'm more than happy to host it for him....

Yeah, but who buys from you lot

Ironic when it's coming from the same factory. lol. I don't mind the look though.

Rob!!!! No! I had to stay at Dave's last night, but I was tempted to stay with you. If I had, I could have saved you! And made you breakfast. Hope you're ok

Catchy Trials Remarks, Sayings, N So On.....

"He dented it in, with his ass!!" "When people ask me why I'm so good, I just shake my head and say 'natural selection'" -

Who's The Sexiest Trials Rider
spode@thinkbikes replied to MikeCottTrials's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
It's a close one between Tall_Rob and Matt Staples! And no, I'm not. -
Not that you care and feel free to not bother doing anything about this. And I'm sure people are going to consider me a pedantic ****er for even bringing it up. But hey, you're after feedback. Companies are singular. So it should be Magura has, not have. and its, not there. Many people put companies as plural and it's a common mistake, but even if it was plural, it would be their not there. Obviously, in forum posts, fair enough, but when it's on a production site - it's always nice to have all the small things right too. So: "Magura has brought out a new version of its HS33 brake." Anyway, that's before I checked out the site - I just noticed it on that screen shot. Looking at the site, it would be nice when you hover over the icons on the bottom left that some text comes up telling you what the page is going to be. I also don't like the product information opening up in a new window. I tested this on Firefox on Fedora Linux and didn't have any issues (apart from the products opening up in a new window and being blocked by the pop-up blocker). I would give my opinion on Flash and semi-agree with the guy above who said it's unnessesary. But I won't It's your choice and you've made it - it's too late now.

I'd like to add my vote to make this the funniest thread in quite some time However, I'm holding my self back from contributing...

That is an amazing film. I'll have to hunt that out at some point again.

Is that a yes, we're VAT registered, or yes it's not hard It's a good step forward to see a rear disc mount, but the KOT disc mount is still the best so far and I have no real intention of changing. However, I'm siding more with Krisboats on this, I don't think it's a bad design.
