  1. I'll be ready to leave in a bit if you want to start early.
  2. More links have contact with teeth, so it spreads the load better. It's one of the only downsides I've heard to running smaller cogs. It will also take longer to wear out.
  3. I didn't get particuarly good support from Race-Face either. I just bought a set of Middleburns..
  4. I did my first video using nothing BUT VirtualDub... What a piece of software
  5. Pretty much got the bases covered here. BUT, if it's nothing technically wrong with your set up, maybe try and get larger cogs with more teeth on, while maintaining the same gears. (i.e if you're on 16/16 go to 20/20).
  6. I like it a lot. Simple, but stylish. I can't design to save my life S'what happens when you spend your life coding instead... The picture with the wide angle lens doesn't work though, it's cropped in the window for me. And what, no linky for spodey??
  7. I could be. Although I need to get a new bottom bracket between now and then. Anyone got a fairly long taper BB? Just changed my cranks and it's short :@
  8. Are you any good I see what you mean and I partly agree with you. But I think you'd be surprised. To the average punter, they are just as impressed if you get up a 2 foot wall as a 4 foot. It's also surprising how many LITTLE things people like, like just rolling backwards even though you have a freewheel, or track standing, or roll backs down a slope on the front wheel. People do like drop offs though, I'll give you that much. When we get a trailer, we'll probably integrate that in to it.
  9. I was about to suggest the same thing But not everyone has it lying around the house. I've got some of that Akasa Tim cleaner for use around the office. Has a lovely citrus smell
  10. Yeah, I've not moved it on to my new server yet, it is running a little slow.
  11. What would you describe as a "big" move? We really like the whole matching bike thing. And the discs are really quiet. Most riders have really noisy rim-brakes, which just sounds awful. We do have a couple of riders we are using at some demos, but for the video I didn't want a hodge-podge of bikes on there. I'm hoping to get some budget soon to buy a few KOT frames and give to the riders we want to use more often.
  12. I think Dave is still getting used to the KOT (they are the short KOT's btw), but I'm quite comfortable on mine now. I know a few guys said it would screw up our rather "old school" style of riding, but it hasn't at all. It's a lot easier on the back wheel though!! And both bikes are completely silent thanks to the dual discs.
  13. Hi Guys, Just finished off a new video. It's the first one that I've edited (Dave did the last one). It's footage from some recent demos rather than street stuff. Obviously this is a promotional video, so it's pitched at non-trials riders. So there is a chance you won't enjoy it. But hey, it's only 3:18 long. I've put a high res, DivX encoding online and I've put it on YouTube for some low quality streaming. http://www.thinkbikes.com/videos.php - thinkbikespromo2.avi Let me know what you think! Spode
  14. White Spirit CAN leave a grease behind (which might be what Stav was erring with nail polish remover). But I've used it quite a few times with no issue.
  15. So is the red 70.5 degrees? That's what the confusion was over, which way round it was. Where is the angle measured from?
  16. Why not nail polish? And why alchohol free?
  17. Hmm. Perhaps Adam got them the wrong way around. Or the way the angles are measured is different to how I/we expect.
  18. Any thermal paste will do. You must have a mate with a small sachet of paste that came with a heatsink or something. If not, just try a small computer shop. PC World probably won't do it, and if they do - they'll try and sell you a whole tube or something for an extortionate amount. But do NOT run it dry without any paste. And make sure you've cleaned the surface before hand with some nail polish remover or something similar.
  19. There should be a filter for it in your editing software. It gets rid of that horrible "liney" effect (put simply). Edit - nice crash Bessy!
  20. You make it sound like it's intentional. Sometimes you just can't!
  21. I'm no expert on this. But wouldn't the head angle just change the wheel base? Or does it affect other things too.
  22. Dude, our bikes are very very similar. I bet you could jump on mine and feel identical!
  23. I love mine. With my fatties I ended up with a 1060 wheel base. I ride in a very flicky style. I moved from my Orange Zero and my style hasn't changed a bit now that I'm used to it. I'm just editing a video at the moment of it actually, as I've realised there is nothing of me on my KOT yet and I've been riding one for a while now! (pics on the site).
  24. Him puttying his camera down wouldn't have helped, it really does depend how close the two were. Personally, I'd be annoyed if I didn't get it on video to watch later :D Luckily, when I go riding, it's often with my team mate Dave, who is well trained in first aid. Whenever I've fallen off, he's been a god send and knew exactly what to do.
