HAH! Not bad at all. Definetely along the same idea as I was thinking. But perhaps "Yes, I know I don't have a ****ing seat!"

That's in sane! I watched that 20 or 30 times. You should have put a slow-mo version of it in the clip too I snapped my Kool Chain the other day and it's not the first time. Usually happens at good moments for me (unlike you). Strangely, I didn't snap other chains I've run nearly as often as this. I'm wondering if they are as good as they are cracked up to be...

It's not that I look fat.. It just caught my face at a funny angle!

Dear God, please remove that middle picture! I look awful!!! EDIT: On second thought, it's not THAT bad.. And the building looks nice.

I'm waiting to see the rest, but yeah I like them! Although I said watermark them (i.e semi-opaque) not solid text plastered all over them! Although it kind of works...

I think I look best as a silhouette!

London 23rd April...........ride Organised In Advance.
spode@thinkbikes replied to Damon W's topic in Member Organised Rides
I had a damned good reason for shouting at that bollard! I belittled my people!! Anyway, just came back from that ride. Pity the weather wasn't as good as Saturday. Darren, Rob, Steve and I carried on riding until about 7pm when the rain stopped and the ground was drier Had good laugh, good to meet some new people! Now I'm really sore Sorry for any random singing throughout the day -
Might want to consider turning the swap file off. Then defragging the drive. THEN setting the virtual memory.
-
Not sure I agree with that.. But this IS a good motherboard. Once it's working it's got more options than you'll ever need.
-
Those boards are really flaky and they are also REALLY picky about which slots you put the memory in. IIRC, you have to have slot 3 populated.

Hmm. They look pretty nice. I'm running El Gato's at the moment, but they look nice. -

I run a fairly hard tyre, but since cutting up an old inner tube and using it as a secondary rim-tape, I haven't had any punctures yet -
I'm gonna go for a ride in Staines, Surrey this evening. Assuming the weather holds, anyone up for it?

I haven't read many particuarly decent responses here. Especially with the "because everyone else has them". What a ****ing lame reason to buy something. I just got a new back wheel. I've always run D521's, but I used an Onza this time, which is 48mm wide and drilled. The weight is probably quite similar. as this is wider so the drilled out section just compensates for the extra width. So that argument is kind of out of the window. The main benefit and reason I went to drilled out wide rims, is to stop the tyre rolling off. If you do a lot of spinny tricks or land sideways on the wheel, it really helps with this. My new wheel feels significantly nicer on the back wheel, but that could also be due to the new Pro II hub on there

Computer - Where Can I Find My Socket Number
spode@thinkbikes replied to andyzplace's topic in Chit Chat
I would say it could be the motherboard OR the CPU. So I would replace them both and just do an upgrade. Perhaps a cheap Socket 754 board and Sempron? That would match the rest of your system fine. -
New Wheel. Recommended Rim For Discs?
spode@thinkbikes replied to spode@thinkbikes's topic in Trials Chat
Those mavic's look pretty sweet! And they are about a same weight as the drilled out rims I'm seeing. It's a pity TartyBikes don't stock them - I wanted to do a big ol' order and get it all at once. I suppose I could get the rim seperately and build the wheel myself... What about the rims on the TB site - do you not consider those particuarly highly? -
Should I Use Double Disc On My Stock?
spode@thinkbikes replied to joe parker's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I'm sure I've harped on about this on other threads - so do a search if you're that interested But I've run dual discs since 2000? I love them to bits. I've only ever used Hope and I'm not sure I'd move away from Hope either - they are superb products with excellent warranties. I've broken the mounts on an orange zero 2 or 3 times from it, which was a pain. But my KOT MS2 is superb for discs - in fact I'd recommend the frame full stop. I used to run a 160mm on the rear, and I never hit it. But the 180mm I have on the KOT I managed to ding pretty badly. But with a little bit of work with a wrench it was back in to a pretty good condition. I'd sooner have to do that occasionally that to have to worry about my rims being dent-free and true. The angle I take, is that ALL discs end up warped to an extent - I've never had a set that didn't (due to hitting them or just general use) so you will get a small amount of rub. I find the modulation pretty good and certainly got to give you more than maguras which tend to be pretty much on/off because of these sticky trials pads everyone is using - or worst case scenario tar on the rims. Discs tend to work a lot better in the wet than any rim brake too. I don't think it makes the bike feel any different when it's being ridden, and if it does you must get used to it because it's never caused an issue for me. The main thing for me is I TRUST my discs. They lock on and they stay on. If they don't, they aren't set up right or there is something wrong with them. Finally - just look at cars, motorbikes, theme parks etc. all using disc brakes because they are superior technology! Considering how many people are running a disc on the front as preference over a rim brake. I'm not sure why so many people don't want to run one on the rear (aside from the fact that most frames don't have mounts for them). Ultimately though - the decision is up to you. It is personal preference. -
Computer - Where Can I Find My Socket Number
spode@thinkbikes replied to andyzplace's topic in Chit Chat
You could probably get a second hand 478 board fairly cheap on eBay. If you upgraded your processor as well, chances are it would be unbalanced with the rest of your system as it is. I'd sooner build a new machine than upgrade a 2GHz Celeron machine. Question - is your case MicroATX or ATX? And I would find a mate to take a look at it personally. Some of those machines can have silly custom things in there. Also - what makes you certain it's the motherboard that is dead? -
Hey Ho, So I'm getting a new back wheel built with one of those new hope trials hubs @ tartybikes.co.uk I run a rear disc, so brake surface doesn't mean a lot. I've always run Mavic 521's, but I'm not sure you can even GET those any more. I'm seeing a lot of these uber wide, drilled out rims and quite like the idea as I'm assuming I'll squirm less when doing spins n shit. So what do you recommend? Spodey
-
Yeah, same here. I make sure I do enough 180's over gaps so that both sides of the wheel get a hammering
-
Not that old at all. The only thing I can think of that it might be, is I've been doing a lot of distance side hops. As in, start on a line, and then side hop and land on the line. I can do around 8 feet which I'm quite pleased with. But that must put quite a bit of strain on the frame.

FYI, I've just snapped mine in the same place.

Who Rides In Surrey Area
spode@thinkbikes replied to Michael Hardman's topic in Member Organised Rides
A proper caution? As in one that goes on your record? What were the terms - criminal damage I assume? I'm usually fairly sensible about what I ride on anyway. But it's only a short train journey to Staines, so perhaps I should err on the safe side.
