  1. Very true. Although I've had my front disc bent for a while now, it just makes a bit of a rubbing noise when I ride. Although I bled it today (only because I bled my back brake which made my front seem inferior in comparison ^_^) and I used a wrench to gently bend it back in to place. It was just like truing a wheel!
  2. Well, if you're landing on the backwheel I wouldn't consider it a side hop - it's basically a back hop. I think landing two wheels, if you miss, you are more likely to hit your rear mech/discs etc. So I usually land it a little on the front (not too much) just so you have the option of bailing out. I don't think landing on the front first affects your accuracy. Then using the same method, you can eventuallyland on the front straight into front hops, or flick yourself from the front wheel to the back wheel. Naturally, I start with two wheels on the ground. I'm seeing a lot of people starting on the back wheel first. In my eyes, that's not a sidehope. Two Wheels to Two Wheels..... It is however a fairly good technique for getting up things, especially if you kick in to it first to gain some momentum.
  3. Hey, it's my job. Who really expects people to know this stuff <_<
  4. Noise? Better Quality? Guys.... Both Coaxial and Optical are forms of S/PDIF. They are both digital signals. Although technically speaking a coax cable could have a noisy signal, digital signals are a lot easier to clean up than analogue. And if you have a decen coax cable, the chances are noise are sooooo slim anyway. You will NOT notice the difference. Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digitals are uber uber cheap and will probably have the outputs you are looking for.
  5. I don't think this would be a hardware problem. The fact that they are on device manager means they will appear in the BIOS, otherwise they wouldn't be in device manager at all (but by all means double check). From what Krisboats has said, optical drives screwing up when installing MAGIX is not an isolated incident and nothing so far has pointed towards hardware failure. The only thing moving IDE channels etc. might do is just give Windows a kick up the butt to sort itself out. But I think it's barking up the wrong tree. If uninstalling and reinstalling the drives in device manager doesn't sort things out, consider doing the same but for the IDE channels. Even think about updating your chipset drivers. Do you know what chipset your motherboard is using?
  6. At the moment, either Supertramp or Days Of The New.
  7. The question is, what does Magix do to screw things up? The only thing I can think of, is perhaps change the ASPI layer somewhat. But I don't think that would cause these errors.
  8. Seems like 24" is a good compromise for you. <_<
  9. I don't think unplugging the drives physically will do much for your cause. Have you tried just deleting them from device manager and then restarting your computer? Then it should automatically detect them again. And you COULD do a repair install of Windows XP. Assuming the drives still work, you should be able to boot from your Windows XP cd and do a repair install (not the recovery console). That would be my last cause of action if nothing else worked.
  10. Don't get me wrong, because I like your stuff. But watching your videos I just seem to think you'd be more suited to a BMX. Yet at the same time, you've got some great trials moves in there. It's such a wierd combination!
  11. Ok, but there is a difference between dropping off and dropping off smoothly :D
  12. I'd like to hear some justification behind that statement? I've seen plenty of riders that can drop off things but can't track stand to save their life.
  13. Canterbury is not very good for riding and most of the good bits aren't accessible when the shops are open. Better off going out in the evening. (I used to live there). I would come and give you the tour, but I don't tihnk my bike will be back in one piece by then.
  14. I'm not saying you shouldn't do them! I just think they are overrated. I'm fed up with seeing videos with drop off upon drop off upon drop-off.
  15. Well, anything in trials is skillful. But dropping off something in comparison to backwheeling a rail is a no brainer. Huge huge difference. I would say the trackstand is harder to master than dropping off something.
  16. Gotcha. Then go for the Foxconn NF4K8AB-8EKRS, get a Sempron 3300+ and a gig of Crucial or Kingston memory (nice and cheap). then you can overclock that. And then buy a new graphics card too. Yes, any ATX power supply will fit that case. Although I'm not big on Thermaltake cases I have to admit...
  17. AGP is not bad, it's just the new graphics cards aren't going to be build for it. It's just future protection. Dude, there is nothing wrong with your current machine. If you want better gaming performance, just buy a new graphics cards! You could probably overclock that chip a little too. You would be wasting a lot of money upgrading what you have, for very little performance increase.
  18. Depends what you are looking for in a rider. Sure there are some riders that can do huge caps and sidehops etc, but don't have much else to them. I think Ryan has some interesting lines and some of the stuff he pulls off, it looks like he's going to fail any moment. I think his "no hops" idea makes it look untidy. But it's still impressive. 180's across train tracks is one of my favourite tricks to do :P
  19. Definetely AMD. And that motherboard bundle there is AGP. Nforce 4 only supports PCI Express Graphics. PCI and PCI-E (PCI Express) are different, so don't get them confused. What is your current machine spec?
  20. Wierd. I've always found discs to work BETTER in the wet.
  21. I've used that board before, it's good and cheap. However, it is PCI Express so won't work with your graphics card. Nforce 4 is PCI-E only. 512MB of ram is still plenty and you can always put a little more in later. However, the "benefit" of Socket 939 over Socket 754 is Dual Channel memory. If you are only going to have one stick of memory, you will only be running in Single Channel mode, potentially halving the memory bandwidth. In reality, it doesn't make that much difference mind you... If your budget is low, perhaps get a Sempron 3300+ and a Socket 754 motherboard with PCI-Express (such as the Foxconn NF4K8AB-8EKRS). The little bit of money you save means you could buy a new graphics card too. Buying an AGP motherboard now would be a waste of time as almost new graphics cards being launched are PCI Express. What is your current system? You might find it better value in the long run to hold out until your 9800 Pro is no longer cutting it and then upgrading the whole lot.
  22. Well. I've slipped a disc, chipped my spine and had several other back issues and I'm only 21. Causing yourself unnessary damage, is erm, unnessary. I watched that video with that guy jumping off a Lorry the other day. It's in slow motion and you can actually SEE the whip-lash happening. Seriously. Now, if there is a get up before the drop, I can understand it. And large drop off on to sand or grass is always fun as the ground is a lot softer so the impact is minimalised.
  23. Wow. Drops. So skillful. I hope your wallet can cope with the extra strain your bike is taking. Not to mention your spine.
  24. Well, I don't remember my arse hurting. My right arm and wrist hurts, as does the tendon on the back of the my right leg. wierd! So I went in to Halfords to buy some oil to bleed the brake, as the piston popped out while I was trying to sort the pads out (some wierd things went on with the whole self adjustment malarchy). The guy there gave me a split pin for free, so yay! I'm actually tempted to replace the other one with a split pin, as those allen-key tighten ones tend to loosten after time. Scary. Then I went riding and 4 of the teeth in my free wheel graunched off completely. That screwed me up. So now I need to sort out a replacement hub or something rebuild my wheel. (Y) :D I've broken SO MUCH on my bike in the past 2 months. It's insane! I have: - Stripped the thread from my frame for bottom bracket mounting. I now have a combination of JB Weld (a type of Epoxy) and a bracket made of Aircraft Grade Aluminium holding it in. - Snapped a chain (now got a BMX Kool Chain) - Snapped two sets of Azonic handle bars. (to be fair, the second pair had already been ridden for a year and were stop gap measure). I've now got this set of those oversized Blackspires, and a new FSA oversized stem to accomodate it. - f**ked my free wheel. - Had my pads fall out. - Cracked my frame. Still, I've been riding almost every day and had some great times, so it's all worth it. Anyone got a hub for sale :$
