Just out of interest, is the scene over in China as big as/bigger than it is over here? Also, is the standard of riding lower or higher? From what i have seen of chinese riders they are awesome, they just have a natural spring which helps them have stupidly good skill on a bike.
-
Why cant they all engage at the same time? Something to do with the design?
-
They are a little expensive, especially when you look at the bt raven 6 which rides just as well but costs £299. However, when you look at the vinco which is a lot more expensive and practically the same frame but without fancy machining it does seem value for money.

Nice to hear that a new range of trials gear is coming out, although i am anticipating that everything will be a copy of something else ie the GU rims will just be rebranded koxx rims and the 20" GU will just be the same as the 20" vinco etc. You have already said that the GU brake pads are the same as the zoo pads but a different colour, i dont see the point of bringing them out really as GU is a branch of echo anyway. Oh well, we'll see (Y)

Bit harsh, but true. Have a look in the gallery, im pretty sure theres a few in there ;)

Good idea, but even the koxx ones (127.5mm) arent wide enough for the bash to fit with a freewheel as well!
-
I think that the problem was that because it had so many engagements the teeth were fine and so broke too easily, and it skipped often due to the aforementioned. It would be nice for them to develop it though and release it, its been all but too long for manufacturers to start producing good trials specific hubs, except hope of course who are releasing the pro two soonish (Y)

Nice to see youre getting into trials. The t-vee is a good little starter bike and should last you until you start getting better and doing bigger moves, then you will need to upgrade most likely! (Y)

I have heard that because the chain is at such a tight angle the bash causes more frequent chain snappage, however i may consider getting one as i could do with saving a bit of weight, i currently run middleburn pro trials cranks with a red 22t bash, i could save a lot of weight by swapping to 16t, even though its a little expensive.

That what i am worried about, street riding ie taps and backwheels may be hindered, i cant imagine a bike with a bb like that being easy to pedal hop
-
The cranks look sweet, the mech hanger seems a good idea but a little unnecesary for most trials riders. The actual mech would probably bend itself anyway so it may be a little ineffective...good for trying a fresh idea though

Very nice xc/freeride steed you've got there. Its amazing how much bikes like that cost now, you can get a car cheaper. Downhill seems to be the most expensive discipline in mountain biking, last time i looked rockshox boxxer forks were £1000 and frames ie intense downhill were like £2000?

I have had the same thoughts on this subject, as i plan to buy a new frame in a few months and i was looking at the hi-fi or the GU as i can imagine them suiting my style and riding sweet. However, i am afraid that i will be crap on it because of the difference in bb height (dramatic, i have a 2005 t-rex at the mo) but i am sure i would get used to it. I got the t-rex because of a swap with a friend, i had a 1065 levelboss and wanted something longer as i am 6ft3 tall (15 too (Y) ) but even the t-rex isnt what i expected, it is a very nice bike though. The fact that the GU comes in a 1095 version is tempting

My mate was planning to go to hull to buy a toxsin from tartybikes, but i was pretty certain it was only mail order so i put him straight. Most bikes come flatpacked in a box, i have a saturday job at a bike shop and practically all i do all day is build up bikes from boxes ( (Y) ), it makes doing repairs a pleasure :D

Ditto, bmx takes a lot of balls to be good at :D

Good footage there, i was there on sunday but got there after the comp started so i didnt see the riders practicing or warming up. It was a brilliant day, i wish i took my bike so much (Y)

Nice pics, they look a little squashed on my pc though. Some nice moves there, keep it up! (Y)

For £120 your best bet is a hope, they are good hubs if you regularly service them which is simple if you know how. I have been through three of four rear steel mono hubs (lost count lol) in the past two years mainly because i didnt look after them, keep them greased up etc. I currently have a half dead mono and its doesnt skip at all, just makes funny noises after a big gap or drop (Y) Anyway a i have pre-ordered a hope trials hub (pro 2) which is due out in september so i shall be giving that a go :D

Cool, just getting it now, slow d/l rate though :D EDIT-CANT GET IT NOW, IT SAYS 2 HOURS 13 MINS LEFT AT 4K/B A SEC! (Y)

I have never heard of any of those models and im sure if they were designed they werent put into production or if they were only in France (Y) They could be from the koxx bmx or mountain bike range though, or from any range of products they do (a lot more than just trials bikes).

This has happened to me since i first started, and i havent found a way to stop it, its really annoying too (Y) I used to use tar on koolstop pads and clean the rim every so often to ensure that my brake kept working reasonably well. However, i would clean the rim so its shiny, clean around the caliper and pads too, sand off the surface of the pads so thyre clean then ride and from nowhere dirt and grit used to appear on my rim when it got even slightly wet. I couldnt find out where it came from so i stopped bothering and now i run a grind on koxx bloxx anyway and havent used tar for about a year so wet braking=good :D

I havent heard of many giants snap, my mate used to have one and he did loads of big drops on it (quit now though) without any problems. Another rider has now got it and its still looking good after five years of hardcore abuse (Y)

Nice little video, i was there on sunday too and filmed most of the sections and riders featured in you footage, it was a very good day (Y)

Erm, why do you want a norco anyway? Isnt your megamo much better?
