I'd have bought as many as I could there and then and carried them out of the store, giving them time to deliver them they were bound to work out that they were priced wrong. You were right up to here. That's all wrong. Using tar and a grind is very uncommon as they kind of cancel each other out and end up having a crappy brake. If tar is causing your pads to stick to the rim you've got waaaayyyy too much on. Having tar on a grind won't help protect your pads from wear.

The standard pads are the worst thing you could be using. Look into swapping your pads with some from here: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/search.php?category_id=4 I'd suggest one's from the top (Monty's) of the list if you're looking for something cheap. They easy to setup and are great when you aren't running a grind.

They're actually pretty good, mine don't show any signs or wear at all and i've had them for well over 2 years.
