Nah that's not true at all. Like Tom said the 'feel' in chat-chat and the forum in general has gone down over 3-4 years. The validation system being scrapped was, what? Not even a year ago? Maybe more I'm losing track of time. Besides, if you look though the people who've posted in this topic and most topics in chat-chat they're mainly people who've been here for years. We aren't exactly flooded with newbies. Messing with SM's won't do anything. SM's have zero effect on the forum. I really think the 'problem' is is that we're seeing trials peak a little. Trials only started becoming popular post 1998 I believe? I think through the early 2000's when trials boomed there was an influx in people wanting to get started and share in this niche sport, meaning the forum thrived. Now it's much more mainstream than it was 12 years ago the niche appeal has died down and because of places like tartybikes trials has become much more accessible, and the forum is less needed. he old schoolers move on and get old and the new school riders don't have the need to reach out to others. ...or I could just be talking out of my asshole, but that's my best bet as to why it's died down in here.

You're exactly right. Wouldn't hurt to close all the big topics (bar BOTI) and try and enforce a no bitching policy when someone makes a topic with little substance. Also, ever considered doing something similar to what OTN have done with the request only gutter section? 18+ free for all. Might bring some old and new people back to the forum if we can post tits.

Never. But my point was about the ability to have a 10,000 topic on a forum which shouldn't be an issue at all. The probable fact that no one would ever actually read any of the pages is irrelevant to the point I was making. People will bitch about things being too anal like there being one topic like RSQ, and other people will bitch about people asking small quick questions in Chit-chat in the way of a new topic. TF was always a strict high standards forum back in 2004-2006, but now especially in chit-chat if you don't use one of the many designated topics you get beaten down.

Seems like the real question is why large topics are causing this issue rather than how to split them up to make them smaller. Best thing to do for now is just to hide all but the last few pages like has been done with BOTI, but still there shouldn't be a reason why you can have a topic 10,000 pages big.

Ok so today was the day I tried it. Bottle opened with a 'tsssssss' meaning I dind't f**k it up 100%. Poured it into a frozed glass, 95% head. Waited for it all to settled down and bam! First try and it tatses great! Honestly tastes just like any unfiltered beer out there. Next batch will be noral strength so i can get a little drunk off of it which clearly hasn't happened tonight.

I think you're going about it the wrong way. For a start, you're better off getting a XC bike (basic bike with front suspension forks and regular chunky tires) than a hybrid style bike. Reason being you can use an XC bike on the road, but most hybrids can't really be used on rough trails etc. You can use an XC bike on the roads, it'll be inefficient, but you're out to lose a little belly, inefficiency isn't a bad thing really. That way you won't be limited to what you can ride on. Also, most decent forks these days come with on the fly lockout. Secondly, sounds like you need to figure out what type of riding you actually enjoy doing. If you're just riding around on the roads and that isn't your thing it gets boring really fast. Boring means you won't do it.

It's more of a probability thing for me. A trained dog trained to attack a target is going to be around you, your spouse and your kids pretty much constantly, however it'll only be around it's target once for a couple of mins... maybe never. It seems that, going purely by the time spent with non targets and targets that the dog would likely confuse a non target with a target than actually getting it right.

I know if you clicked the thread title from the very first page that would take you to the last post read. But never in all the years I have been on TF has it ever taken you to the last unread post when you clicked on any topic title from the subforum page. If it did do that, it's certainly a bug and shouldn't have been happening.

Seems to me no matter how well you train a dog, it's probably more likely to turn on your own family than an aggressor. Maybe put the money into a new place rather than training a dog?

Clicking on a thread never used to open it to the last unread post. That only happened if you clicked on the 'go to last unread post' button, which works in this update for me anyway, they're the stars and circles down the left hand side now.
