  1. Would it not've been nice to christen the beast with a more 'period' offering?
  2. A lot of people are stupid and bid reactively - this is why you see 'tit for tat' ebay bidding, as if being at the top of the bidding pile for the most amount of time is what wins it. Lots of people complain about snipe programs because they 'don't get a chance to bid back'. These people are morons, so it's best to just snipe to get past them.
  3. I watched it in France of all places which added to the entertainment. Somehow didn't get my head kicked-in after walking home singing "One nilllll! One nilll!"
  4. But surely that's all the happy and angry threads are? They're just a place for people to tell something which they 'just have to tell someone', which is more or less what a 'status update' is anyway.
  5. Indeed, without any real evidence that life outside the EU would be better, the sensible thing to do would've been to not change anything (i.e. vote remain).
  6. Thanks for the ideas! I'm thinking a hardtail would be good enough...
  7. Unfortunately a fair proportion of the people in the UK are that stupid, and they had an equal say in things.
  8. I think the issue here was misleading opening post which suggested the riding would be paid for, when in truth it's everything but the riding that's paid for. The thread starter could've handled the responses in a much more professional manner too.
  9. The whole thing is a loss either way. Look how this whole thing as divided us, it's a f'cking embarassment for our country and just reminds me how many stupid ignorant people there are here. My registration has been f'cked up anyway so I can't vote, and I don't even care, it's a goddamn shambles and I hate it. If I didn't have family and friends in this country I'd gladly never come back here.
  10. It always bothers me when commercial (as in it makes a profit) event organisers expect people to contribute to their show for free, or for passes/tickets which don't actually really cost them anything. Further, if you ride for free at a commercial event then you're undermining trials in general, since once of the ways trials riders can make money is by riding for a demo team. If events get riders for free, and have the expectation that a trials display will not cost them, then why would they ever pay?
  11. That's great that is has some personal history behind it, and yes it'll surely keep as a project for the future. It's amazing what some bikes are going for, notably the Vincents and Broughs. A friend of mine is involved with Bonhams and was showing me photos of those basket-case Broughs that were found in that shed - it's insane to think that even rusted through like that they can fetch six figures!!
  12. You have a '36 Norton International!! What an amazing bike to have. I just read up about the gears, makes perfect sense to have them that way for track. I actually swapped it from track to road, I could easily swap it back again - as you say it's linkage driven.
  13. I didn't realise people had it that way for track - I've only ridden road Jap bikes - thanks for pointing that out. I know that some British bikes have it the other way up, plus of course the gear change on the right. Last time I rode a British bike on the road I went for the brake only to find the gear lever, and nearly stacked into a Mini!!
  14. A couple of pictures of my NSR. Haven't changed much since buying it - fitted a Tyga racing style fuel cap and also a clear screen instead of the tinted one. Had to make some adjustments to the riding position, plus I swapped the gear linkage around because the previous owner had it upside down (i.e. 1 up 5 down). Went out for two short rides to get the feel of it, then went for a proper blast today - and it goes like absolute stink, and sounds incredible. As you'd expect from a bike like this it's a handful in traffic, but the powervalves help. It was all going great until, like an idiot, I ran out of fuel. A few more road rides to fully get used to it and then I'm going to book a track day at Brands.
  15. Harder to trap them in the back though with a 5 door.
  16. Six Days looks gorgeous, love those bikes. I'm in Europe for a few months and I'd love something like that. Also that sounds like good output for a 125cc, certainly not to be sniffed at. Bet that thing shifts! Also +1 for a quieter pipe Leon - I generally don't like them tooo loud.
  17. Ok by 'new' I meant 'different' or 'not the same'. As in, it's changed, live with it.
  18. So we all saw Brandon's new video. Got me curious about his bike... Don't appear to be available in the UK. What other frames are there like this, i.e. more aimed at jumping/hard-tail stuff than a full-on DH bike? I currently ride a LaPierre Zesty (size L) but wouldn't mind something more chuckable as a second bike, but with the rear sus so it's still not too hard work on the trails.
  19. It's at the point now where people need to get over it and either watch/enjoy the new show (remembering that, aside from the name, it is a new show) or just move on with their lives.
  20. So glad that the Capri is being recommissioned! Hope you fix the problems Skoze.
  21. Donated. All the best for your nephew, and well done to you guys for starting the fundraising.
