  1. And you presumably told her to f'ck off and resumed all of the listed activities?
  2. Don't forget though: fit on the phone, add three stone.

I think number 3 could've been shorter. I noticed that a lot of vlogs on Youtube are quite long and that part of the appeal is having less tightly edited, more natural seeming videos, but even so personally I'd only want to watch 10 minutes or so. If you're looking to really try to boost the views etc you could consider the whole branding side. "Ali C" is quite catchy, so you could exclusively use that rather than your full name. Also some kind of logo/graphics to go with the channel/any other social media would be a nice touch. Also - if you don't already - take a look at some of the more prominent BMX channels like Harry Main's, Adam LZs, Boqer, etc, and see what's getting the high view counts for them. Anyway I think there's a lot of mileage in this because there aren't many trials-related vlogs that stand out, and being in the position you are puts you at the forefront of the more exciting side of the sport.
  4. Anyone got any good recommendations for insurers? For my bike (that Honda NSR I posted a picture of a while back) Bikesure would only do third party only. MCE will do it fully comp and throw in track day cover. Just wondering if there are any other good companies to get quotes from.

Really liking these. In general I think vlogs are important because they let the personality come through, it shows so much more than a normal riding video would. I think that's why the Martins, Hans Rey etc came across the way they did - they were always talking to the camera, we saw what they were like as people, understood their attitudes to riding and life. In your case I feel I 'know' you a bit now, whereas before you were just a face to the riding. Only advice I'd offer is be more consistent with your video titles - it would be nice if the vlogs were titled vlog. You had 'Vlog 1', but the second one wasn't marked vlog, so somebody who sees a new video pop up might not really it's a vlog. Personally I'm going to be more likely to watch a vlog than a regular riding video because I find them more interesting and - for trials anyway - unique. Good work anyway, look forward to seeing how it works out. Oh and that line in the parkour park was dope ; )
  6. There are 20 or so posts here, seems people do care. Your thread on the other hand was just confusing.
  7. Had these two out for a bit of TLC. The cafe racer gets far too little use given the effort I put into building the thing.
  8. I went through tons of drama with the HMRC. Two years ago they decided that two of the years I'd been non resident for tax purposes I needed to do tax returns, and promptly sent me a letter saying I was to pay £1200 in charges. Then they said oh some of your company car tax in 2010/11 was never paid, oh and also your student loan repayments never came out. So after sifting through mountains of paperwork it turned out I had 3 old tax returns to do. But there were a couple of figures that HMRC had which I needed for the form. So I phoned up and asked for them but they said they could mail them or fax - this was the day before the deadline. It's ridiculous, they wouldn't email or tell me on the phone, so my return was late because they had to fax me a number so I could write it on a form and send it back to them. Eventually I had all the charges cancelled and then they left me alone until a few weeks back, when they sent me a letter out of the blue saying I probably need to do a tax return this year. When I phoned up nobody could tell me why this is, and nobody could tell me if my status is still non-resident, because if not I could get in trouble for not declaring off-shore accounts. If I do have to do a tax return then my situation doesn't 'fit' the form anyway, and then they say well hey you'll have to pay for accountant to help you. And I'm thinking how about you pay for my f'cking accountant if your forms are so f'cking retarded we need training to fill them in. It's a royal mess. I get the impression that the government spent a ton of money on a poorly designed computer system and then employed a load of helpless humans who are seemingly at the mercy of the whims of the machine. Nobody on the phone knows anything, and just how much of that tax money is wasted on all this inefficiency.
  9. Slow shutter or not, you'll probably see them when you have the aperture narrow. I couldn't work out how my Nikon body was getting so dusty inside then I realised that I was forever keeping the body cap in my jeans pocket, and it was filling up with dust (and who knows what else) and then I'd stick it back on the body.
  10. Really dug that, looks like you had a rad time. Almost makes me want to buy a 24 : )
  11. Agree with Mark - the £15 thing is just completely ridiculous.
  12. They were only used on Saracen frames by the MAD team. And also I remember Matt Tongue rode with them on his Pashley for a while. But yeah those Saracen frames, lol...
  13. I sold one of my frames but have most of the rest of my stuff. A lot of the components are no good, and I've already binned some. Like crates of ruined bashguards, destroyed cassettes, broken Magura bits, old PowerPro cranksets with the tapers gone, all completely obsolete now. I do have a brand new set of the flexy USE forks, a new Fatty R (in the less-common red) and a couple of pairs of the old chrome Sunn trials/Bmix forks. Oh and a load of wheels, but even those are mainly destroyed - D521s on LX hubs, DDG hubs and Hope hubs.
  14. One thing I won't miss is working on cars (last time I owned a car was nearly 8 years ago).
  15. Talking to imaginary men in the sky. Strip away the social programming and it's an activity clearly reserved for the mentally ill.
  16. Was really sorry to hear about your boy, I'm just donating something now. All the best with the run.
  17. Looks like somebody's GCSE project.
  18. I won't be in the UK, but if there's another one in the summer I'd be tempted. I don't have a car but I have a racing motorbike I could bring up in a van.
  19. If that's the case then I'm a total b'tch, because I held one down for a year and a half. I'm probably just bitter because she moved to Australia two weeks ago ; )
  20. If you're happy with the woman you're with, as I have been on occasions and will be again, then the availability of other women ceases to be an issue. I'm not saying for one minute that being in a relationship with someone makes you a bitch, it's when the relationship is tanking/over/finished and you still let someone have control of your emotions. For the record I'm not saying Sam is a bitch either, but this is the point at which it would be easy to become one. I HAVE on occasion, been that bitch. So this isn't some elitist post.
  21. I should've been clearer - I did't mean if you're married/happy with one person, I mean if your relationship with someone has broken down and you believe there's nobody else out there.
