Same here, I started ages ago in the 90's
Around the same time as rob poyser. Seeing how good rob is at trials makes me wish I had stuck with the trials riding. Rather than having 9 years off.
Honestly the slx are just as good as the xt. They both use the same size brake pad. The deore uses a different pad. Though if this makes a difference I am still to find out
i run +80, 1010, 350.
with a 150 x 30mm tryall sloping stem and rockman rockbar, its properly low but i like it that way,
years ago i used a tioga 150mm xc stem on a da bomb the stem had a 10deg rise. and that felt awsome on the back wheel
i started riding in 1996 since then i rode trials to 2001 then i rode all this inbetween coming back to trials
bit of homemade northshore
progressed into northshorecomp riding in 2003-2006
then over to some dirt jumping and pumptracks.
and back to trials now
So long as all the stem bolts clamp onto the fork. It will hold strong.
If the fork doesn't come high enough and you have a bolt holding thin air it won't end well
I like to have 3-5 mm from the top
You could drill 6 holes into the seatstays fit bottle cage rivets and bolt on a bridge cut out of alloy 5mm sheet. Then drill and thread the alloy to fit 4 point mounts. If you haven't got a rivet gun for bottle mounts try a bike shop. And if you aren't sure how to make a bridge. Jaf do custom parts,
Shame to hear about the disc mount issues.
The neon x ray has a similar geo to what you want. Though a bit lower bb.
Surely tartys will sort you out a good deal if you buy your new frame there,
The pic doesn't seem to show on mobile for some reason.
Custom ain't custom if its not mental.
The post will be a alloy extention of the frame and will have a post fitted ontop of it.
ok the idea i have is for a 24" that will feel like i am on my mod but with extra weight and larger wheels great for training.
i have a seat post design in there to make it versitile enough to ride the short ride to and from work, as most my training is done during my commute.
any thoughts ?
