  1. i use 35psi in mine for trials and 50psi for park use. a lot more than 25psi front and rear on my mod with creepy crawler rear and mow joe front
  2. cheers for the advise, that should work i hope i drive him to places allredy, i didn't think about saying if it gets too much to take him home but that should help him feel like hes not being pushed into anything he doesn't feel safe doing. i will see i did ask him to come observe at matlock but he did want to come but backed out last miniute, i guess due to nerves. i think before next year i will try to get him out just up matlock so he feels safe in that area 1st. then maybe once he has seen his 1st comp and the atmosphere it should give him confidence to maybe enter one year.
  3. my mate i have riden with since i was 16 has aspergers too, any advice on how i should approach him to come to comps with me, or social rides in other towns? as i havent been able to get him out very much because of his axiety, he only seems happy riding different places if its just me him and anyone he knows well. he has got much better at controling his axiety through trials and meeting people through trials, but he can still find himself to axious and loosing hius temper because of it.
  4. guess it depends if your ride smooth or are a bit clumbsy or powerfull. most tyres will be ok used with the right combo of tube. if you run a thin tyre combine it with a thick dh tube to stop pinch punctures. if you use cheap thin tubes then go for a thick dual ply tyre. or risk it and run thin tyres with thin tubes, but if you are going to run thin tubes dont buy them from wilkinsons or mental cheap the rubber is so cheap it pretty much always punctures
  5. i run one on the rear, real nice tyres. the sidewalls are fairly thin but there no xc race tyre. closest tyre to it would be a maxxis highroller or moto rt i will be running the table top on the rear and a mow joe front soon also
  6. i started trials when i was 16 and i learned all about fixing my own bike to keep the costs down, now i am working for a large bike shop in cheshire earning plenty to buy my house. and now i cant quite afford to run the 3-4K freeride/trail bike i used to i find trials back in use as a cheaper alternative and easy to just go outside and ride
  7. I had a new easton wheel on with a broken freewheel and easton didn't have new one avalable for months. So i bodged a hope xc freewheel onto it. Since then it has riden many training rides and three peaks xc endurance race. And still feels mint. I have sanded loads of rust of rockshox dart fork legs to get them working again. I have a ten year old Hayes nine brake I unseazed back to new condition, with o ring oil . And a quick bleed. I bent tons of rims back from dead by jumping on them. Never at work thou always out riding for emergencys. A mate of mine is welding genius he helped me turn a 20" giant reign into a 14" with long toptube . Was such a good freeride rig
  8. I always hear rumors about doping happening at simple road sportive rides, I think its terrible if anyone thinks they need to win a charity ride that bad
  9. Use brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. They contain isopropal alcohol which is the best cleaner around You can get oring oil from a car parts shop
  10. You should look on the biketrial federation site all the trial comps are on there. Most of them don't require a licence. Or full membership. I would say close to you would be matlock, shipley/ keithley or blackpool same as me. If your ever heading west pop round for a ride.
  11. O ring lube/ silicon oil or the oil used to bleed the brake is the best to free the pistons
  12. Soreen is king or just a bannana and lucozade I only use a monstor as a wake up if I am tired. I used to know a guy sponsored by red bull used to drink 5 a day minimum. By 24 he had a heart bypass
  13. just noticed i cant add any as there are only 2 colabartators who can add spots? how does this work
  14. it will help give it go. all silicon spray lubes are simmilar in that they contain silicon, though i would say gun oil would be more aimed at corrosion protection rather tham lubrication. so may contain other chemicals to help corrosion rather than lube
  15. wow wow wow. its st85 that is killing your seals. the spray lube has white spirit in the mixture to help it penetrate cracks and into rusted bolts. this will dry your rubber/nylon seals. what you need is a silicon based spray or even better o-ring lube to free up the pistons on your brakes. if you cant get either of those use mineral oil on the seals. only ever use brake cleaner and silicon based oils (or the oil used in the system) to lube your brake pistons nothing else it will likely cause the brake to fail
  16. I did a week double shift once. 6am-10pm it was mental go to work and sleep and eat for 5days was bad. If you work at say a pub after working 9-5 you can enjoy some social time at the pub job
  17. use the gusset chain tugs the guy used on his echo. there the ten quid ones in all steel bombproof
  18. its amazing, would you say in ten years skydivers will all be doing this, it does look like it would be a right good buzz
  19. the perfect tool for this would have to be a saint centrelock tool as far as it being the right size for the job. just a bit larger than the hg tool how well is the lockring holding out to side loads on the bash ring? and will there be a 150ish option for mod bikes
  20. yep was a good day riding. hope to see some of you at sheffield for the haloween ride
  21. i did check all the other geos on all the 24 bikes on tartys to see which was closest before asking. and i did say simmilar, i know its not the same. and still no one has said what the reach is on a skye.
  22. i am there see you there dave, so we can fight for the gold
  23. I will be getting some pics done round congleton ASAP and get them on here
  24. The wheel will move into the dropouts when it hits down. Bending the rotor won't help the situation
