Whats This Supercylces "half Price Crash Replacement" About
Krisboats replied to Steve Tiller's topic in Trials Chat
From the tartybikes site: -
I'm 90% sure i'm observing for patt (the 10% unsure is whether he put me down or not:lol:). If i am observing for him, can i bring the bike along and have a bit of a play once the day is over/everyones finished/somewhere out the way?
-
Yeah thats partially true but you didn't say that in the first place. Besides, the air bubbles don't just stay in the water, they quickly rise to the top as air is lighter than water, so within a couple of minutes there'll be virtually no air bubbles in the water. The idea of a bath bleed is to pump the water through the brake backwards and forwards until you don't get any air bubbles coming out from inside the brake. If theres no air bubbles coming out, theres no air in the brake so no, air doesn't "get in".

If you've done work experience or helped out in a family business for a while put that down. They'll more than probably be able to figure out someone at your age won't have a long list of references, and they won't expect you to.

Anyone Down To Help Build A Bike In Swansea?
Krisboats replied to maxwellduryea's topic in Trials Chat
I'd imagine you could have it built in the time it takes before someone else replies in this thread, especially if you already have all the parts. Shouldn't take anymore than 20-30 minutes to fit it all together a couple of hours if you have to build the wheels up yourself. -
Yep, i might just add that before you put the adjustable on your rotor give it a quick clean first to remove any oil/crap.
-
Did you have to wait long? I know it varies on the location and time of day but i'm sure many people on here get shin digs like that and it could help as a bit of a guide as to whether it would be worth going to hospital or not. We should have a seperate thread with shin digs and their severity Post a picture and rate it 1-10, 1 being a light cut not worthy of anything more than pouring some water on to clean it and 10 being full on gash that needs like 30 stitches. It'd give people a guide, as i'm sure there'll be loads more in the future.

Exactly, perfect example dude. Yeah there was. If i went around saying monty's are shit because they're expensive and they all crack i'd be a tit. If i tripped up a curb i'd be a tit. If i tried to write with a pen upside down i'd be a tit. Its not a harsh statement, just something along the lines of a fool.

Isn't maggie blood designed to be a fluid to work in all weather conditions, a standard fluid that will work even if they sell the brake to someone in canada? Much in the same way black pads are the standard.... i bet your not still running magura black pads though

I know its not what you specified with it being a cliff, but its the closest thing to an endo in this thread so far so technically i'm winning

Have Plazmatic Pads Lost Their Touch?
Krisboats replied to maxwellduryea's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Okay, in case you missed it. Link to retailers list Look who's first on the list. Thats right, its the guy you took the piss out of. He's the first person on the list of retailers and until the plazmatic site came around a few months back this page was the best way of finding out about plazzies.... and look whose name is on the bottom of the page, thats right, same guy wrote that page He DOES know it all, and if not all, a significantly larger amount thatn you. This guy, knows his shit... from the looks of it he's practically a part of the company. If he'd said something like 'im pretty sure the pads have always been the same compound' it sounds slightly doubtful and people may think its just his opinion. The fact he KNOWS they haven't been changed means he can state clearly and definately thus putting the discussion to rest, he said it without being cocky or a dick, he just said 'no, they haven't changed'. If he was going to be cocky i'm sure you'd have had a response like 'what the hell are you on about? the plazmatic pads have never changed so stop misleading people you little shit'.... but he didn't, so its not a problem. With regards to being a dick and being cocky, well... the only person seeming to do that at the minute is you. -
Have Plazmatic Pads Lost Their Touch?
Krisboats replied to maxwellduryea's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Ha ha, irony at its best. You state a well loved products been changed, slate it, then the manufacturer comes on and politely says its not been changed. YOU then throw in an insult and say americans are wankers. Nice going man, you look well cool now -
You sir, are a tit. You don't understand something properly yourself then advise others its bad. As simpson said, oxygen molecules make up a part of air, and they make up a part of water. Just because water contains oxygen molecules, doesn't mean theres air in it... in fact, quite the opposite. The oxygen molecules are bonded chemically to the hydrogen ones and the combined 3 molecules make up a globule of water. The only way air gets trapped in water is if its forced, so by splashing your hand up and down in the water or pulling the syringe back too quickly will both leave you with air bubbles trapped in the water. Over time though these bubbles will move and collect in a pocket of air, which can be expelled from the syringe easily enough. Yep, done about 3 different ones now (i seem to take on the role of mechanic while on group rides ). Doesn't seem to have been a problem with any of them.

Good to know some good things never change -
Some people say the antifreeze isn't good for the internals but despite the fact theres no eveidence to state otherwise, it won't harm to reduce the amount of time its in the system for. I use water, it feels much nicer than oil and i havn't had a problem because of it yet in over 2 years.

Have Plazmatic Pads Lost Their Touch?
Krisboats replied to maxwellduryea's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I have a pair on the side here. I didn't realise they were different pads till i compared them to the other 6 or so sets of plazzies i've got. And... The difference isn't that obvious, especially if someone isn't used to how plazzies feel. I got mine from someone on msn, they were okay pads... but needed a heavier grind.. like i would for koxx browns. -
they left your brother there?
-
While your around... Have plazzies lost their touch? Someone mentioned that plazzy material has been changed... figured you'd be able to say for definate as i havn't seen anywhere saying it has.

So far i've flown a hot air balloon, driven a hover craft, driven a tank, fired the engines up on a fighter jet, fown a plane, been in a helicopter, done an undersea walk, fired an m16, fired a colt magnum, stroked a dolphin and a killer whale and many many other things. Although i don't have any specific things i'd like to do, if i carry on like i am already i'll have led a fairly adventurous life.

Are you actually sure about that or is it just an opinion? I'd imagine people moaning about plazzies going downhill have actually bought or the retailer mistakenly solf a pair of plazmatic PMG pads not the CRM's. The PMG's are new pads from plazmatic that have been designed for a harsher grind (presumably in an effort to improve wet weather performance), the PMG's have also accidentally been roduced in the same yellow colour as crm's and are completely indistinguishable from the crm's. In future the PMG pads will be blue. -
To be fair, when they're that deep they don't hurt in the slightest, hence me opening and closing it like a second mouth. Although i do hate the though of hitting it again and cutting it open, so i wear 661 veggies most of the time.

When i was younger i was a wimp and slowly scraped it out a little bit at a time with a needle. Took ages. I had one last year and upon realising i heated up a scalpel on the cooker for 10 minutes or so (till it was literally red hot, like glowing red) and i quickly and almost painlessly sliced it straight out.
-
I don't mean this unkindly but i think thats a reflection on your ability to use a chaintool rather than the chain itself.
-
No, its in more than one picture and if it was a fish eye lens doing it the lower half wouldn't be straight in the same way the chainstays are. Obviously not when used at such an angle as that.
