Thing is, i bet they'll be far more inclined to say yes because they'll not want to stand on their own. One more benefit to the smoking ban i guess

And how often do you hear trials riders complain about it? Enough for someone to make a t-shirt to explain ;)The lighting does look crap. A few of the clubs in town are going to have to have extra smoke machines fitted. I can't believe how lame the exisitng ones are. Its closer to the puff off one of those glade air freshener things than a smoke machine.The lights do look crap too.. and being able to see clearly is very unusual. One of my favourite clubs had these strobe lights on the walls that sort of flashed on and were like putting full beams on in fog, you couldn't see anything other than a flash of white cloud. Now they come on and all you can see is a blinding streak of light every time you blink after its been burned onto your retinas :(Hadn't thought about the being left alone in the club scenario. Its pretty evenly split between non-smokers and smokers in my close group of mates so it kind of balanced out alright. Eying up a hottie inside though and seeing them outside with your smoking mates isn't good either... the brighter lights of outside reveal a few things about 60% of the girls in there. Ha ha, your 15... when have you ever gone out on the razz, pulled a bird and gone back to theirs for a one nighter? Honestly dude, when you wake up in the morning you'll find a lot of people don't smoke in their rooms anyway. A lot are usually in nearby uni halls, which are often no-smoking in the rooms.I guess a lot of the negatives will be worked out as people realise about them, i reckon replacing smoke with foam will be a good'un. Wet t-shirts in clubs will be 100 times better than the hazy cloud of mystery

Start on? Why does the image of a chav trying to beat a girl up in a club instead of getting her to dance spring to mind? Nope, girls smoking isn't a problem. I don't mind smokers in the slightest. Its because the fog-like screen of smoke is gone you can see everything in the room a bit clearer... so what would ordinarily have been quite a hottie, suddenly has spots and a lazy eye. You'd never have noticed if there was smoke there.

But its still the same thing. Your doing something you may or may not enjoy. Why is it fair for people to ridicule you for doing it. Trials is dangerous, can cause physical damage to property as well as possibly intimidating people who see you as a bunch of yobs causing mayhem. Dress it up how you want... but it ISN'T fair for someone to ridicule you because of it, in the same way it isn't fair to ridicule smokers. Yeah fair do's, no smoking at the little pub round the corner is okay. But if you were old enough to understand what a night out in the clubs/bars is like and you tried it before and after the conversion the non smoking environment has very few good points. As i mentioned, the B.O. is a problem... i don't get why people don't put anti-persp on on their way out . The other thing is its easier to see, which is great if you've lost your mates in a club somewhere and they're too pissed to comprehensively text you back, but its not great when you can actually see some of the "fitties" you'd normally have a go at. Local pubs is a bit nicer though, i have to agree... its nice not stinking of smoke when you come home from a couple of pints after work. The downside is though i felt very uncofortable for some reason when two of my faghead friends had to go outside for a smoke. It was like when one of your mates is getting a bollocking/started on by someone and you really want to help, but can't.... same kind of feeling. But yeah, local pubs... no smoking is great. Clubs/bars... its now quite shit.

I think just having it as a divx player boosts its usage up a shed load for me. I mean, it doesn't take ages to encode a movie to a dvd but putting a movie on a disc as a divx file is a heck of a lot easier. Its also nice playing riding videos on the telly in much better clarity than on the pc screen, the upscaling on the xbox makes even poor bitrate riding videos much clearer to watch, which i absolutely love. My friend formatted a new hard drive he bought for his xbox and through the use of hotswapping and some weird xbox program thing he managed to format it so the xbox recognizes it, then transfer over the files for his dashboards and XBMC. I don't understand how he did it at all, but he went from having a softmodded xbox to having a softmodded xbox with a new, bigger hard drive.

So does that mean its okay for people to take the piss out of you because you ride trials? I mean, its not like you have to do it and it has potential life threatening risks. I'm sure having someone laugh at you purely for that reason would annoy you a little bit and you wouldn't like it. I think until your old enough to go out and see what life in pubs/clubs is like you can't really comment. I went out in a club in town last night and it was awful. The smoke used to be in there air and you wouldn't notice it, but now all you can smell is B.O. and trust me... its far, far worse. To the point where venturing onto a dance floor at 3 in the morning to try and pick up a pissed up bird is actually something that you think long and hard about. Did you read the rest of my post? It would kind of go against eerything i wrote if i thought radical free thinkers weren't allowed to voice their opinions. Still, i get why you could be confused... sarcasm doesn't work well over the net. It was supposed to be taking the piss out of how the government would class people with common sense and stick them into a radical fanatics category because they spoke out against the masses. Sames happened to me. No confirmation e-mail, no notification of whats happened. I'm sure my dads gonna have something to say about it. I take it apple sent out confirmation emails to the first load of buyers giving them a contractual offer? Hmm, not performing actions they'd stated they will do in their own liability regulations and changing the order to something else and cancelling it is quite a bit for him to go on. You can re-lock it with your computer somehow, something weird with hotswapping them over. You also back up your hard drive for a reason If it goes tits up, whack it in the pc, put the files on again and your MSdash.xbe is all good and dandy again. Theres ways round everything.

I really do fail to see how you mess up a softmod. You stick the game in do the softmod and then fiddle with it later... maybe deleting something. I've had the "call customer service because your xbox is f*****" screen loads of times when i was starting to fiddle with it and all you do is open the drive, whack the game in... switch it off, switch it on and load on the softmod again. Then your back where you started. The hardest thign for me was trying to get xbmc to open as the default dash. Didn't take too long to work it out though and i am so pleased i have.

Pretty much the same as mine... only i spray painted the top bit silver and planned to do the front panel too so it matched the tv/dvd player a bit more. XBMC and you'll never need anything else.

I've actually found them to be better all round in the plastic backings. And yes, i have tried numerous pairs of plazzies both in plastic and in cnc backings. Probably around 8-10 pairs.

Taking a screwdriver and switching all the room numbers around. We took a selection of lockers into an upper level staffroom and barricaded it shut from the inside using the lockers then jumped out the window into a bush underneath. Apparantly it was a few days before they got in, ended up going in through the window with ladders Signs around town about a charity cake stall on the main field open to the public with some stolen tables and paper balls on with manequins to make it look realistic from a distance. Got around 50-60 cars parked up on the field with people complaining to the school about being tricked. 3-4 boxes of multipack bubblebath from someones mums shop, put the stuff all over the floor in the toilets/changing room and left the showers on... foam was about my shoulder height and was spilling out into the corridor. Personal favourite. EDIT: Forgot that one of the computer geeks managed to find some kind of netmeeting style thing on the network and proceeded to place a picture of a woman getting every oriface filled by black guys and sent it out as a message that popped up on EVERY computer simaltaneously.

By far the most interesting bit of the image in my eyes. Detailing and a large emphasis on light in every aspect of the section, from the colours and light in the clouds to the reflections on the road surface. Don't suppose you'd mind posting a larger version of just that bit would you?

I can't be arsed to read the whole thread. But rich, your post seemed to be pretty much what i've been thinking for a while now. Although there are one or two points i didn't agree with, i can't see how people began replying with how they completely disagree with you. The smoking ban has benefits and drawbacks, which i'm sure the majority of which have been highlighted, but then the post wasn't really about the smoking ban... and it seems thats what people were failing to grasp. Call it stupidity, naivity or whatever you want. The fact a lot of the replies thought you were blowing things right out of proporsions clearly show they are incapable of looking at whats right in front of them. Having seen/read/heard all the films, books, songs etc you used and being a half intelligent person myself i see exactly what you were saying and agree with it. The time WILL come when anything thats harmful will be banned. A lack of trust in a persons ability to use their own free will. There will be no smoking, there will be no drinking, no drugs and medication will be saved only for cases that 100% need it. We'll have so much cultural diversity that the lines between whats accepted and what isn't become a blur and everything will be frowned upon because it may inadvertently cause physical/mental harm to others. Thats of course taking aside theres also the possibility that people will become so stupid and naive that we simply fail to function as a species and die out. Where people inject their bodies with chemicals in order to look good and huge corporations control what is acceptable instead of the goverments. Think of something along the lines of daniel craigs explanation of the legalisation of drugs due to customer demand in layer cake or the scenario of a completely failing world in idiocracy. We as a race need to wake up and take control of the situation while there might still be time. If the destruction of this world due to pollution is truly innevitable then wouldn't it be better to stop trying to prevent an innevitability and trying to find another solution? Concentrating on the ability to travel in outer space in colonies like in battlestar galactica or the creation of dome like structures to protect what little of the planet we have left like in the film total recall. Hell, there could probably be enough time to focus on creating an edenistic environment like in Peter Hamiltons knights dawn trilogy of books. To basically create a self sustaining planetoid that uses biotechnology rather than harvesting our planets resources like we are doing. The shocking thing is a lot of the technology is readily available. There was that guy in america who actually built a car that ran on distilled water. Managed to get around 80mph out of it and it was completely self sustaining. It had water put into it, converted it into hydrogen and oxygen which could then be recycled, puridying it again into water for re-use to further maximise its efficiency. Unfortunately its the corporations that stop the technology getting out and with the thought of making some money now they buy off the patents and deny its use so their products/services can carry on making more of a profit while damaging the planet beyond repair. You said we may look on what you said as being the ramblings of a crazy/delusional person... well i feel what you said makes far more sense, and someone who can't see it and tries to deny these problems existence is the one who is truly delusional. So long as "radical free thinkers" aren't afraid to voice their opinions there may just be a little bit of hope left for us as a species.
