  1. Hello everyone. Someone come and ride Windsor soon please, I haven't ridden here for over two years as I have no one to ride with. There's a wide variety of lines and a lot of chances to get some smart footage so do come along. Not far from Reading or London! Sometime this weekend? 30/31 December... Cheers guys, Adam
  2. Oceana is gash, it's all about RUN @ Native on a tuesday night. Or failing that, fat poppadaddy's at Po Na Na. You'll see. If you *have* to organise a freshers bike ride, do it on the first weekend or something - you will find you'll just want to drink and socialise with all your new friends for the first few nights. I ended up riding my bike twice last year despite best intentions, there's just a lot of fun to be had in the city of Bristol... though riding your bike over the kitchen table whilst inebriated at 3am does earn instant legend status amongst most students.
  3. I'm at Bristol Uni, it's sick. Did no riding in my first year though. I'm living in Goldney so if anyone finds themselves in a Clifton hall drop me a line as it's only a 3 minute roll downhill to Lloyds.
  4. Morley Wilkins? Rode with all the Vancouver riders, someone will have the MTT videos from back in the day no doubt. He also has a section on Island Style which was available to download over a year ago on OTN.
  5. Why does nobody come and ride Windsor these days? There's a lot of cool (/big) lines with some cool backgrounds for those arty video people. Does anyone ride round this area these days? I've been itching to ride my bike recently but have no friends to ride with . Somehow I only rode Bristol twice this year despite going to Uni there all year... There must be the new breed of trials riders springing up in the area!? Love Adam x
  6. Maaaaaaaaattte, I have them all. However my laptop is broken and I can't really access them at the mo, they're safe on an external hard drive - along with most of the classics in this topic. I need to ride!! Have to have a Windsor ride in summer, I haven't ridden my hometown since October 2004. Shit. Ridden Bristol twice since arriving here... f**k it, I'm going for a ride now! Chilvers! How you doing? Long time no speak! I need to go for a ride, right now. If you are in Bristol today (Thursday 8th june) find me on 07849 933373 Love Adam x
  7. wizard boner. i saw elliot firth out in bristol the other night and we had a discussion about how sick you are i remember when you were just a little kid who had ginger hair and wore swimshorts all the time. keep up the good work boyo!
  8. you are f**king sick. love adam x

    Ouch

I forget the guy's name, he certainly didn't die as he wanted to try it again... the cops came and shut it down though. Read about it in Ride USA a while ago. They had a whole article on sick crashes over the years. Some poor guy tried to transfer from a flat roof to icepick on a tiny sign about 6ft high. His rear peg hit the side of the sign and he landed flat on his face at full speed off a roof. Ouuuccchh.
  10. iTunes converts them? If you copy an album into iTunes that has been ripped using WMP then it just converts it for you... I like my iPod. It looks nicer than the Creative Zen. Two other handy things - the shiny surface on the back serves as a great pocket mirror, and I also like seeing all the album artwork when I am listening to my iPod. I don't walk around looking at the screen obviously, but when I have it out it's quite a nice touch I find. I was dead set against buying an iPod for ages - I loved my swish Sony minidisc player. However, going to uni, living in halls, and sharing so much music means that an mp3 player is a vital accessory. I think it's just the general concensus that iPods are the coolest mp3 player so people buy them.
  11. Elastomania = awesome. Here are my fastest times to some legendary levels that you should all have... I think all credit goes to Mark Westlake as the section builder. Benben 14:49.16 cesar 2:31.96 Sect5EXP 1:52.44 trial5 1:42.07 xsect6 1:12.27 I got pretty good at elastomania during my A-level exams
  12. There are a few good shops. There is a vintage clothing shop (called Rock Around) that just sells a load of imported t-shirts in cool colours with funky motifs, it's in Queen's Walk. Reading is quite an 'alternative' town, you shouldn't have too much of a hard time finding that kinda stuff. There is a woman on the high street that has a little cart selling a lot of alternative jewellery. Saying that, I haven't been to Reading since summer. What else erm... A shop called Hard Edge sells skate clothing, aswell as smarter street fashion brands. Harris Arcade is the alternative centre of Reading's shopping, it's pretty near the station I seem to remember. There is also a shop that sells weed down 'Smelly Alley' - yes, that is it's name. Also down Smelly Alley, ShakeAway sells the best milkshakes ever in loads of flavours. And then there is the Oracle, which is huge shopping centre right in the town centre. Reading is pretty good for shopping, best outside of London in this direction. If you are feeling posh take her to Windsor for a day trip, about £5 on the train (change at Slough). There's nothing in the way of alternative shops, but it's a pretty nice place. Or Oxford is also good, bit bigger and is also posh.
  13. What the hell is that? Seems you can't like music without falling into stereotypes these days...
  14. Hello everyone, same old topic, name a few albums you all like blah blah. Anyways, here are my recommendations, this is what I've been listening to in 2005... (Obviously you could probably pick loads of CDs but limit yourself to 5) The Subways - Young For Eternity Pendulum - Hold Your Colour The Postal Service - Give Up Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism Arctic Monkeys - Demo CD (has 20 tracks on... Though studio album is out in January I think) Probably hasn't earnt me many cool points, but coming in close behind were: The Arcade Fire - Funeral Death Cab For Cutie - The Photo Album Capdown - Civil Disobedients Interpol - Antics DJ Format - Music for the Mature B-Boy DJ Format - If You Can't Join 'Em Beat 'Em Ben Folds Five (self-titled) Massive Attack - Mezzanine If you like some of the stuff that I've listed, chances are you'll like most of it. Oh yeah, and buy CDs because it makes you much happier and you'll live longer. You'll have to thank Amazon for the whack image sizes. Toodle ooo
  15. The top sequence is cool, the first time I saw Tobias Wicke do that move I got a boner. The sequence layout is pretty standard, you could always jazz it up a bit by having a main picture and a few smaller thumbnail sorta size pictures along the top/bottom. I think that could work pretty well for either of those two sets of photos.
  16. There's no point going to Uni to do a shit degree basically. Stick to standard subjects - fair enough, if you are an arty person you will have less lectures. As long as you are not doing, say, David Beckham studies, you will still get a respectable degree. Don't go to a shit uni and get a 2:2. Ways to make it worthwhile: - Get the best A-levels you can. - Apply to good universities. - Do a "proper" course. - Work hard. - Play harder. I'm studying chemistry at Bristol Uni. It's 17 hours a week which is quite high in terms of workload. I have three tutorials a week to do work for, and a lab write up also. I am also playing rugby for my hall and rowing for the university. Needless to say I am always pretty busy, it's never really too much though. The only thing that has waned a bit since I got here has been trials riding... not really the end of the world. I have had such a good term, basically all money spent this year so far was on going out and having fun. Do it. You don't have to spend ludicrous amounts to have a reet good laugh... though I have spent shitloads in the final fortnight of term, I went out 12/14 nights. It's all about having fun and still fitting the work in somewhere. Arts students generally don't do much, it is true. However, to do politics here you need 3 As. It's not a pisstake subject, everyone's very intelligent. They'll get jobs when it's all over. I think the divide between worthwhile/"wishy-washy degree = debt" courses will split pretty quick, which is all good, people will value their education more.
  17. James Hyland - where's he gone? What ever happened to: Wayne Nelson (I think... he was on the bashguard.com site) Michael Graves Kurt Brain Danny Smith The rest of the guys that used to ride in London happily together (aside from Stephen Morris/Luke Edwards/Tim Rodriguez etc... ie. before all the londontrials.co.uk/londontrials.com stuff) I haven't seen any comp results for years so don't shout at me. I know what Carl Stanton is upto these days - Class A drugs. It's a shame to see him heading that way. Another mystery rider - James Wilson. He nearly won the first Hop Idol ages ago, still has that blue pashley I believe... rides occasionally around Newbury. Good post Sameer, brings back the good ol' days. EDIT: Forgot Adam Wilson... he was a beast.
  18. Funnily enough mate, he hasn't stopped filming. He's been filming this for over a year, it will be worth the wait. Initially he wanted it to be ready for NASS... but with so many set backs over the music legalities he's trying his best for Christmas. Also Premiere is killing his poor computer, smoke comes out of it and the cooling fan spins so hard that it nearly takes off. I've seen sections and the editing is sick. The riding will speak for itself, but you wait - sick editing.
  19. Another really cool video Steve. It's awesome to see some of those hallowed spots in london from the tricks & stunts / chainspotting era. I think you did a really good job of capturing the london scene when there aren't 60 riders clogging up the southbank. The outro was also cool. Nice riding and editing, simple. :(

    Trial Noir

That was f**king sick. First time back on t-f in ages it's nice to see Onzaforumtoomuch is up to his usual tricks. Akrigg is the best british rider in the UK pretty much. He may not be master champ anymore but he still rips everything up. Good to see some pros putting out some footage.
  21. Yo yo, I'm at Bristol uni these days. I will come down if it's not raining. Lloyds is about a 5 min roll downhill from my halls. It's allllll good.
  22. Not my own experience, but still funny: Some guy thought it would be romantic to propose to his wife in the half time of a football match. They had supported the same local team for years so it isn't as cheesy as it sounds. Anyways, he leads her out to the centre circle, proposes, she says yes. All is going well, but as they talk the longish walk off the pitch the whole ground is chanting "DOES SHE TAKE IT UP THE ARSE?" Cringe. That whole being young and naked thing... My girlfriend and I used to hang out when we were 3/4 - it's super weird. But also cool at the same time. It was more a case of my mum showing me pics of my girlfriend naked (Y)
  23. I don't get why everyone is cracking up so much? It's just a video of a kid not landing kickflips. If someone made a video of a trials rider missing every move and putting their foot down it wouldn't be very funny. I'm pretty sure that kid can land kickflips, he wouldn't be doing them off drops otherwise.
  24. They're on tour this autumn/winter. Go and see them if you can, I saw them at V festival and they were reet cool. The whole crowd really gets going... a good band to see live. Brighton is in your neck of the woods? Tickets are available here.
  25. I remember when I first started doing tricks on my bike, I got some DMR V8 pedals for my birthday and from then on I could wheelie further.
