  1. For the record the halfords torque wrenches are made by Norbar. I have a 3/8 halfords one. have had it for years. Used every day, and im a Ford Tech so its gets alot of use.

  3. It will be very slow and cause the pistons to stick. The silicon lubricant is too viscous to give a good lever and fluid speed. Also the additives will cause the pistons to stick.
  4. Has there been any more thought on day tickets? Would love to come but can only do Saturday.
  5. I will be in daventry tomorrow for a training course. Is there anyone in the area that fancies a ride in the evening? 1630 onwards.

    Tyres

Its all personal preference Also depends on what sort of riding you want to do. If your more into street then you can lend towards more slick tyres, or something bigger. If you are more into competition or natural riding then you want to focus on grip and mud shedding. Personaly I would say for street go for Scwalbe big better rear and Scwalbe racing ralph front, however these arent great for more muddy or off camber natural sections. Try all tyres and Continental der kaiser seem to be the best here, although the conti does weigh more than your bike. I would rate michelins for muddy stuff
  7. Id be happy if I could join you guys for a ride. Cant make week days though, sundays is really the only day I can get out. If you do manage to make brighton on the 6th Ill join you. Allways up for an evening ride in worthing if your about?
  8. I'm our quite alot. Allways up for a ride in the evenings ect
  9. me and a few friends once robbed a bank. We went in, sealed the place off, took hostages. We made them all strip to their underwear, tied them up and seperated them into offices. We argued with the police for ages. While this was going on we knocked a wall down and build a false room behind some shelves. I hid in there with all the money and diamonds, while my friends dressed like the hostages, and set off smoke and ran out with all the hostages. A few days later I just slid a pannel over and walked out with everything. Oh wait.....
  10. Theres a few tricks from the old days of tioga tryes you can use. Stick a car seatbelt inside the tyre Cut the valve off an old innertube, and then cut all the way round it on one skin, and wrap your innertube it it. Cut the sidewalls off an old trye and stick them inside yours Run a smaller tyre inside yours Or use a tubeless tyre. I used use a michelin comp 24 with an innertube in. Impossible to get a pinch flat even at 10psi.
  11. it uses a standard headset.
  12. You would best speak to easybike.cn Thats speedrace parent company.
  13. Which one are you looking at? I have a 2011 Solo, the one with the very small/cut out headtube. I love it. Rides really well, nice and light. Only concern would be the strength of the headtube for hooks, but I cant do them so no worries there.
  14. Just so you know thats a bearing puller. Easily available from any decent tool shop. When I did a BB change for a friend I used a mallet to remove, then made a tool to fit out of a long threaded rod, and some spacers and long socket that fitted over the axle. Easy
  15. For the past few weeks I have been having some problems getting on trials forum. When I go to the site, I get a pink bar with SQL error. And the top of the tab says: trials forum Driver server error Have tried it on laptop, desk top, Iphone and ipad and get the same thing Would say about 8/10 attempts at getting on end like this.
  16. I shall be there. After a long Journey. Couldnt get sat off work either, so will be leaving straight form work sat afternoon, arriving there about 10pm. Only staying 3 miles away though. Lets just hope my right arm holds up. Have damaged the tendons in it.
  17. Looking at some new bits for the bike, and liking what Zhi are offering. Yet I cant find out who imports or sells their products in the UK. Anyone know?
  18. I wouldnt worry too much about the brake. As when you get this right you should be able to do it without. Try not to learn it relying too much on the brake, but rather learn it with a good technique Try finding a wall about bar hight with enough room on top for your bike, and a bit of a run up. Start with enough distance for a run up starting wrong foot forward. Pedal in with a small gap jump and land just infront of the wall with your weight back. Then keeping your momentum throw your weight forward and land the front wheel on the top corner edge so your tyre can bite in. Keep your head forward and your arse back (youll find yourself moving your groin towards the stem, which will move your weight backwards) This should bring the back wheel up, and when it feels right let go of the front brake and pull the back wheel through to the wall. It will take a few goes to get a feeling of when to switch, just keep trying. Too ealry and your back wheel will hit the front of the wall, too late and you wont have the momentum to swing through. Have a few goes at getting the front wheel on the wall in the right place, and youll need to keep a good momentum as you ride into it. Just keep trying.
  19. Long shot I know but has anyone got a floor/sofa ect I could Crash on sat night in the area if the comp? Wouldn't mind missing the 5am start to get there from here. Thanks. Lee Mccaw
  20. Stop at halfords on the way and get a can of brake cleaner. Spray on rims and leave it alone. That will get rid of anything on them. Then sand the pads down and hope they arent too contaminated.
  21. Hey man. sorry but due to lack of interest, and bad waether we are not going now. instead we are riding portsmouth for the day. If you can make it we are meeting at guildhall at 10am. Will do hook when the weather improves.
  22. A few of us will be heading there sunday too
  23. A few of us are heading up hook woods for a session on Sunday 22nd £10 to ride getting there about 0930 Hopefully the weather will stay dry enought to allow a good ride. If it isn't we will move into some street. Will see how it goes.
  24. Yea man that sounds good. We are thinking hook woods, barrow farm, or somewhere like that. Waiting to see what the weather does. Also might look for something more streety.
