  4. hahahaha. very nice...i suppose. yeah just give it a go and see what happens. just make sure you have a back up plan just incase.
  5. yip. its on the right way.
  6. yeah, it does look like it clearing quite easily. i think i will space it out anyway just to be sure though. cheers Dave
  7. another way would be to get a lift off someone, ride to town( haha ), or try and get your bike on the metro.
  8. yeah i cant find any stiff links and i run a front freewheel. its pretty new and was fine the day before i changed my chain.
  9. i use autosol/solvol. amazing stuff i think.
  10. yeah my chain is nice and tight like. thanks Dave
  11. yeah cheers john but i think i'll just put a skewer through it. thats if it works alright? Dave
  12. i dont have a bashring or bashguard at the moment. i have tried the chain on a few different sprockets and it still jumps.
  13. i have a pair of 2005 echo hubs on my bike and i am sick of using the bolts to tighten my wheels in place. the bolts are crap and they round off really easily. i was just wondering whether you can put a quick release/skewer through the axle instead cheers Dave

    Kmc

ok, i recently bought myself a wide kmc chain and i am having a few problems with it. when i gap around on the rear wheel doing small pedal kicks the chain is fine. when i do sidehops and short half pedal strokes it is fine. but the problem is when i try to pedal up walls etc or generally just pedal without stopping the chain jumps. i have thought about spacing my mech out but it looks like the chain is clearing it. i have also looked at my chain alignment and it looks fine . has anyone else had this problem, if so how did you solve it. cheers Dave
  15. yeah theres a metro rail system around newcastle. im not sure whether you can take bikes on it or not though. you can deffo take them on the 2 carriage trains that stop at the central station. for instance if you use the train that i will be using which goes from chathill to newcastle then it is fine.
  16. hey. ive had mine for a little while now. they've took some abuse. ( rimmed out on rails and walls etc) and so far so good. they are light as a feather, front rim is double walled, really thick sidewall ( double thickness so im told ) big holes in them aswell, much bigger than the koxx. i say go for them, with out a doubt. best drilled rim around Dave
  17. hey mr Kenny. i can deffo make it on the 5th. cant wait now. be nice having plenty of people to ride with in Newcastle for once. also a time would be helpful. Cheers Dave.
  18. make sure you download zoo video 20 and 24. they are crazy ( Neil tunnicliffe by the way) if you like metal, then you'll like the soundtracks. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE haha Dave.
  19. yeah same here. i dont understand where the problem is. especially on a stock bike.
  20. theres a few places you could park. it all depends how well you know your way around newcastle and how close you want to be to the life centre. you could try parking outside the handcock musuem. you could also try the car park behind 'the strawberry' pub opposite st james' park. its should be free on a sunday one other place you could try on a sunday is the telewest arena car park.
  21. another thing you could do is ride down a hill etc with the brake held on. just get it nice and hot then pour some clean water over it. this usually makes it work amazingly.
  22. take some wet 'n' dry paper over your pads just to take the surface off them, this will remove any crap on them. Dave.
  23. you can grind it if you want, but the paint wont effect braking too badly. just leave it.
  24. halfords can get koxx parts in though cant they?
  25. i think the best place to meet up which is easy to find is the centre of life. it is right next to central station for those of you coming by train. there is a large open space in the central area of the centre for life. excellent for lots of people to meet up. anyone agree/disagree? Dave
