Do they need to be installed with an o-ring?

Just started up riding again after a few years off. I run a single speed setup and need a new rear mech, noticed that the adjustable tensioners seem quote popular now. Have these improved or should i just stick with a mech? Interested in your input.

So it looks like it could be a design flaw. They cant have designed it intending that surely.... or could they? I spoke to my lbs who queried it with Hope. They said it was engineered like that, designed to have a certian amount of flex to give the lever better feel. Has anyone else heard this?

Indeed, the bolts are torqued up. I'd probably expect this flex if the pads were hitting either un evenly or consecutively.

Quick question for anyone that has or knows these brakes. When you pull the lever in and watch the caliper, does it flex at all? My whole caliper flexes sideways towards the hub... Does anyone have any comments or suggestions.
