  1. Speaking of track days.... Does anyone want a 636 Ninja? I'm doing long miles for work and it's just not comfortable for 200mile round trips!
  2. What's the rear rim there? I'm after a solid all black rim brake rim.
  3. Hi, trying to remember / find an old video hosting site, hoping it's still alive as I'm after some old vids of mine! Was called something like 'engiodidee' or similar/unpronounceable. I don't suppose any of the older folk here can guide me towards it?
  4. ..until they inevitably snapped!
  5. I use this.... The Sun on your bars! It's been great for me on the pitch black cycle track home from work. A young lad at work uses the less powerful 5000 lumen one for trail ridding through the forest and says it's great. For £20 you can't go wrong!
  6. So a couple of months ago the new GF thought it was ridiculous that I didn't have a car and done my shopping on the motorbike. So I saved some pennies and jumped on the A3 bandwagon, though the NA one...
  7. Opinions please.... Triumph Daytona 675 (not R) or Yamaha R6. I fancy trying a sportbike and I've seen a couple of the above that I like and shall be test riding both, just thought someone here may have some experience of owning either that they may wish to contribute.
  8. Jardo, what the hell do you pay your parking attendants?!
  9. I reckon he let him go because it would be effort to get off/back on the horse. He doesn't look the most agile Police Officer
  10. It's fair, which is the best word to describe it. It is unmodified, original alloys (pitted/oxidised to buggery) and came with a pimp luggage rack.
  11. My brother just bought a Mk1 Eunos. No Joke. It's a proper banger too. Holes in the roof, splintery Nardi wheel, few dents. He got it for £700 which I think is overpriced.
  12. I'm pretty sure you're fine. With mine it asked for my 'estimated' annual mileage. If it's just an estimate they can't hold you to it. Check the policy wording, that'll tell you if there's costs involved with going over the mileage.
  13. You will. I said that. "I'll just do the DAS so that it's out of the way". Ended up with a bike before I'd done my last test. You may think you're having fun on the 125, but you'll be shocked how even a budget mid range bike will dwarf it, so much more fun to be had. Enjoy though.
  14. Recommendations for a vented summer jacket circa £100? The leathers just killing me
  15. Passed my test. Been out for a ride and it's all fun fun fun being able to accelerate.
  16. to get on a 125 all you need is a CBT, which is pretty much un-failable. I'm 28 and the bandit above is going to cost £130 to insure fully comp (with no no-claims and a new licence) so pretty cheap, though if you're younger it will obviously be more, Mod 1 test is done on an enclosed test center, basically a glorified CBT but under test conditions. Mod 2 test is the road ride where you'll be followed by an examiner and you'll be in radio contact. During training for Mod 1 and 2 you will be in radio contact with your instructor. I had no desire to ride a motorbike until a couple of months ago, now I'm hooked.
  17. ah, ok. So here's the bike since I've taken delivery (yes I got the bloke to deliver it within the price, as I'm still a learner) Not too shabby for an 18yr old bike. It's been garaged all its life and has had 2 new tyres, new front caliper seals and master cylinder and new fork seals, all within the last 1000miles. Starts on the button with no nasty noises, had a friend test ride it and all seems tight. I've just changed the oil and filter as, although the oil was clean enough, the filter looked beaten up! few little marks here and there but definitely not bad. Plan is to run this for the rest of the summer to get more comfortable/confident on a bigger bike, use it as a winter hack, whilst next summer I'll get something new and shiney!
  18. Mod 2 Wednesday and I've just picked up a very clean 600 Bandit with 15k on it for £800.
  19. Also Tony Harrison, this is for sale here on the Isle of Wight http://www.wightbay.com/motorbikes-scooters-for-sale/yamaha-sr500-project/5021593 may be of interest
  20. Anybody here done their own fork seals? From youtube videos it seems fairly straight forward with a home made UPVC pipe seal driver. Though we all know things never go as smoothly as in theory. ....oh and I aced my Mod 1
  21. I've just had a lesson in the pissing rain and it was all good, I'm sure I'll be fine. Found a dirt cheap bandit I might buy as a mid range commuter/winter workhorse then move onto something newer (and tastier) next summer!
  22. Got my Mod 1 tomorrow. Pooping myself even though it's a piece of piss, I'll probably do something stupid though. If I pass though, it's Mod 2 on Wednesday!
  23. Okay so I may need to get a car again. What's my best bet these days for £1500?
