I run a rear hope mono & when i first used it i didn't have much trust in
it, as it did not lock up the same as a hs33 with a good grind. Now it's
bedded in it is spot on. It has obvious plus sides, as in the wet. (Y)
Im glad your making the effort to enter a comp you will love it after you
have got started, there are to many people on here that just ride street
& have not even considered riding a trial. (Y)
For instance we drove 150mile at the weekend to Yorkshire for the NBTC
trial which Barbara from Cleanbikes worked hard to arrange & put on
with her small army of helpers. The venue was nr Brimham Rocks for
anyone who has been there is a awesome place for trials well worth the
trip up there. I dont think there was more than 35 entries to me that seems
pretty poor for all the amount of effort & organising. :o
If know not everyone has perhaps got the funding or transport but if you
can enter a trial it will not be your last. :)
ps perhaps this should have a topic of it's own.
Have run a hope on the front of my 221pro for 12 months with no problems
at all apart from bending the disk a little.
It has not needed a bleed yet & still feels the same as when i had it.
I have a pair on my ti & they are good too. So if people are having problems
with them what are they? (Y) l
I have switched from moto-trials and now the weather is getting colder
im finding it quite different. With the motorbike you have got all the
big boots quilted Sherco jacket etc to keep you warm & dry but with my
monty all i really want to ride with is a t shirt.
Very cold when your hanging around but not to bad when your on the move.
Might get some hoodies for xmas with a bit of luck. :P
Were we live there's not any decent natural to practice so i use our
local skate park quite a lot, mainly to do gaps on the back wheel &
drop off the half pipe. Not the best to practice your trials but better
than nowt. :P
Packed in Moto Trials for a while to compete on my monty. :P
Makes sense really because i did not get enough time on my Sherco
& are on my Monty all the time. Same teqnique apart from the pedal
bit & clutch & throttle.
PS going to Ogwen on Sat if we arn't snowed in, fancy some practice? :P
My worst fall was when i tried to drop off a pile of pallets & my back wheel got
stuck & threw me over the bars face planting my mates patio, (Y)
Suffered fractured skull, cheekbone & eyesocket. Bike was sound ;)
And another,
Thanks Tom, Have tryed welds but i can split the outer of a freewheel in 2
quite easily. Really looking for someone with the white industries. :P
Cheer's Sam.
Fed up with my freewheels not lasting more than 2 weeks,
are these white industries worth the money.
My local bike shop has one in the cabinet priced at £86. :P
Would like to hear from someone who has used one for a good while.
Cheer's Sam. :P
Picture of one of my drops today, Basically keep edging forward on the back
wheel untill your at the edge of the drop then lower the front wheel a little &
kick off, hopefully landing safely. :)
I use to have a 219 alp which looks similar to the one in the pic, they ride better
than they look & are light & strong. If its tidy & you decide you dont like it
i have loads of mates who would be interested.
