It looks like im going to wait until leopard comes out to get a new laptop, and then more than likely buy a mac. Just one more question, not really related but ohwell, Ive been reading about and see theres now issues with macs keeping up on graphics performance as they have "old" vid cards in, I know that the cards are pretty rubbish compared to what you can get, eg nVidia 8800, or even just a 7950 GT. What you lot reckon, will apple update to a new graphics platform any time soon? And if so, "when" (rough guess). Willy

I always play, but have a desktop PC for that, I want a laptop that looks the dogs (mac), works for basics, and lets me do school work on it. As I say, money isnt really a problem, so a mac ticks all the boxes for me

Ive had the pleasure of using a mac as 3 of my close friends have them, I must say I was surprised at how they felt to mess around on. Poopipe I've been researching your claims on the compatibility issues and must say all applications I use now on a my desktop are available on a mac. I'm not trying to cause an argument here, but is there anything that you can do on a PC that isnt compatible with a mac, all PC games im interested in by the way are available on a mac, just cost more. Leave money out of the equation here by the way. Willy

This is was of those im pondering a new laptop with all the money im about to get. So as it sais really, a mac or a pc. For and against arguments please. Not just one sided arguments. Willy ps are macs still the leader for photo and video editing (new hobby of mine) and are they paticuraly any better or worse at website creation (dont see why they would be any better or worse but hay still might aswell ask)

Nah wont work, Will need to format entier hard drive if you do have a virus or something, to be honest when i have the problems you do, i just format. But you will need a xp cd... About £60 I think now. Best of luck finding one Willy

Isnt the whole idea of bootcamp that ypu can run windows only programs on a mac? So that companys dont have to constantly recode to make the programs compatible? Im guessing it has something to do with the bas cade of the os or hardware but im not sure Willy

Just out of interest, will this still work if i have a network of computers? Theres my laptop, my desktop, my sisters pc and the family one. The only one that will be on during the day will be my desktop.
