  1. hi there, my mate has told me about a ride in leeds soon but i'm not quite sure when it is. i don't really ride trials any more but am still a keen rider of most styles, i'm looking more to take a few pics and have a good day out maybe get back into trials. can any body help me with up coming rides in the north of england, newcastle, sheffield, leeds and places like that. or maybe an invitation for some of my mates from northallerton to come ride with you guys. cheers in advance
  2. i started on a monty 221 x lite, its still my bike right now but i don't ride that much any more. it's a lovely bike and i wouldn't want anything else. it's also vintage its over 10 years old lol and i still have the original front tyre and rims lol most of it is stock to be honest but she rides like a dream.
  3. i have snaped a few things not quite as much as most people but generally out of age. snapped will longden's old dh specialized frame ooooops lol s and m bmx frame my rear monty rim a few spokes brake lever dmr mech hanger twice rear mech a fair few chains i think that's about it
  4. lol it's my 350d i bought one of my very own, pretty much the first opportunity i got to use it. had it on the sports setting for most of the time its just cos we were panning the camera along with the rider is why its blurred and only realized that the flash looked better after we finished lol, still coming to terms with all the little bits it has but cheers for the advice. much appreciated.
  5. give it time to stop your hands hurting they will tuffen up and it'll be all fine, why don't your try some odi lock on grips or something like that.
  6. i run my front harder than my back purely because i spin more on my front and its easier with a higer psi, as for knowing the psi i don't i pumpt till it feels nice then ride a little let some air out or in and then i'm off. i guess itl be different each time but it's all cool.
  7. just got a few pics of me and my mate riding today, not all trials but owel. just learnt no footers today so thought i'd share with all. have fun
  8. i don't know what they'd be like for trials but not to bad i would of thought but deity components make white street bars and stem.
  9. it's not monty, the down tube is too curved for it and it looks more like my mates gu. if it was monty the rider would be pasted in monty clothing as it looks like a proto or a special one off at the moment. monty hardly ever change their geo of bikes either.
  10. thats silly no you would'nt, how do you think unicycles work, its the same principal just with two wheels.
  11. wow that bike looks nice, being a jump bike, and getting a bit of a pounding every so often, how do you keep your wheels straight with so little amount of spokes. are they actually quite strong contradictory to my eye sight. my wheels buckle to often although they aren't crossed and a little old school but then again i'm not the smoothest of people.
  12. lol thats where the streets tricks come in, no footers all the way lol although you'd have to bunny hop for crank flips but owel lol. i do like my manuals
  13. but you wouldn't need any engagements the wheel would do what ever your legs would do with help to ratios. if you had engagements then it wouldn't be fixed and the whole idea would be pointless. the idea was to get more control with out using engagements because you are using two extra limbs to help. like for example if you hopped up a rock with fixed free wheels you wouldn't slip unless it was the surface which was not grippy enough, in a way it would act like a uni cycle there fore using your legs as extra brakes. sorry if i sound patronizing.
  14. i know there are many topics about this sought of thing already but, today at college some thing great happened to me. me and my mate made a new catch phrase for our personal use. it came from when watching bmx vids in art and every time we saw some thing good go down we both went yo accidently or yeah or something like that and now we are always being silly and just doing it every time we see each other (this is starting to sound gay). just wondering what do you say or do when some one achieves something like landing a difficult trick or what ever.
  15. ye but being trials riders, we have stupidly small ratios any way and end up pedalling all the time any way mainly to get a way from mindless scum aka chavs. owel if it doesn't work it doesn't work, i just remember riding a bike like that once, put two and two together and had an idea. if any one could explain to me so i have more knowledge of bikes. i justy ride them i let someone else fix them
  16. a thought just popped up in my mind that may be quite useful to some riders. my idea is to have two fixed free wheels allowing complete control of forward and backwards motion. i would of thought it would help in some circumstances. it's only a silly little idea and not been thought through as i don't know enough and can't be bothered to read loads of different things about technical info other than what i will read on here. does any one have any ideas with problems this may cause and pros and cons of it all.
  17. the nearest my family get to trials is going on bike rides round the block although me and my dad have done a few endurance races but he can't really keep up any more lol, owel he still enjoys it. as for trials they know what i do they just don't really care as long as it's not to expensive and i'm not asking for their money. lol
  18. i know people say the only way to know if you like a bike is to ride it but unfortunatly i havn't got any contacts who have these bikes. i was just owndering if any body has ridden a brooklyn machine works park bike, dmr transition, north shore suburban. i know this is a trials forum but its worth a try. i was thinking of getting a real street/ park bike and making it into a trials rig when i ride with trials people and a street rig when i ride street. does any body know what they are they like to spin, manual, hop and any other such street tricks. also has any body else got any ideas for street frames, i'm looking to build one rather than already built. cheers in advance
  19. mbuk is written for kids though hence why i stopped reading it when i was 10. plus cedric garcia is an utter c*nt and i wish he would stop being an arrogant b*tch. good old petey or mr longden need to beat him in the next world championship. a plot to hurt cedric (what a stupid name) is in order. bit low but owel i have nothing else.
  20. will longden also said "who put that there" when he fell off in chainspotting i think it was in one of the old mtb vids a while back.
  21. i'd go with t-comp-mike guy. go for around the 1.5 ratio mark although thats not a ratio it's self but the sum of. i ride thats and it's the nicest i think. is a gear ratio calculator thingy not just a normal calculator, or am i being naive. never seen or heard of one, sorry
  22. quite a strange topic lol. you tried the yellow pages or even ringing up the bike shop to see if they have any information on them, although may sound like your a bit of a stalker if you do that but owel.
  23. i don't live in sheffield but my bro use to and when i went to visit him i was eyeing up nearly every thing, you don't need to look hard it's all there. the only thing i would say is it's all in public areas so you may get kicked off quite a lot. by the hallam university is pritty good, opposite the train station.
