  1. So what was this? A bike trials promotion event?
  2. Is that rear rim a modified Pro Light rim or a new Bonz rim (Racing group at a guess)?

    Grips

I've had my Trialtech grips since ~August 2008. It's amazing how long they last. I remember my first foam grips in 2004, they were Try-All's and they were absolutely rubbish. Lasted a few weeks. Another big advantage of Trialtech grips is that they don't slide inwards on the handlebars which is very frustrating with most other grips on the market.
  4. Did I just see like 20 people rescue him after that fall? That looked pretty nasty, hope he recovers soon
  5. By all means talk to your doctor but bare in mind that you need to find strenth within yourself to deal with the problems you have now. Using anti depressants might be a way out if you're unable to work things out but I'd treat that as a last resort. Don't even think about it.
  6. King hubs are a lottery. Mine is probably around 8 years old, I've had it for 5 and it skips about once a year? Other fellow riders have had endless problems with theirs. On that basis I'd stick with the SL. Unless you've sourced a reliable King.
  7. There's no point in cheering you up, been there in the past and it doesn't work. Time is what you need, as hard as it may sound just try not to think about her. Every time you find yourself thinking about the good times spent with her, try to focus on something else that makes you happy - be it gigs you've played at, your friends or riding if you still ride. Take up a sport, go to the gym, go shopping, get in touch with friends you haven't seen in years. These are little steps but they will help you greatly in the long run. Being single is not that bad either, try to make the most of it before you meet your next love. And most importantly - if you're aware that you need time to deal with this problem, try to spend it as "productively" as possible. I got into a rut for the same reason in late 2009 and ended up doing nothing all day long, waiting for the bad memories to fade away. After half a year I woke up and found that although I'd come to terms with what happend and didn't much care for my ex anymore, I had completely wasted 6 months of my life. It was really difficult to get back on track. It's all up to you Mike, hope you get over it soon.
  8. Hold on, Mike tried to hack Tom's Facebook but Tom got back at Mike by hacking his TF account? Is that what's going on here?
  9. Yeah it's a completely different frame, the BB is steel.
  10. That's strangely attractive.
  11. The frame weighs around 1250g, I think it's fair to assume that it won't take too much bashing. No matter how good the quality, there's just not enough material in this frame to make it strong and everlasting. There will be, very very soon.
  12. Liked the first vid, the one from the future is pretty nuts too.
  13. Does anyone else have problems with remembering how to do certain moves? What I mean is if you limit yourself to TGS, you've only got 3 moves to get better at and practice. Not difficult. However, if you try to progress in say 7 moves (lets say taps, gaps, sidehops, hooks, frenchies, touch hops, rolling ups to front), it becomes more challenging. The moment you get better at one thing, you forget how to do another, or at least that's the case with me. I can still get up a 3ft wall in about 10 different ways but anything bigger requires lost of practice and subsequently forgetting something else. Has anyone had this problem and found a remedy more interesting than practicing every single move for 15 minutes on every ride? That's just boring, there are more interesting ways of getting bored.
  14. This isn't my bike but a bike I built up. Can't comment on the 2.2 RQ. I run a very similar combo on my Piranha and it's ok. The front tyre has no rigidity at all and pinches very easily. Grip is good. The rear tyre (2.4 RQ) isn't too stiff either but bounces very well. Grip is good but not as good as from a 70a DHF in my opinion.
  15. I'm surprised nobody wants one of these: Big enough to carry a bike around and will scare the crap out of people for free.
  16. Yes and no, it's a bit of a mess because Echo only stock the sizes needed to build their wheels. And since SL rims have a pretty small ERD, the butted spokes come in unusual lengths. I'm sure you can get butted spokes for front mod wheels, rear could be more difficult since the application of sub 177mm spokes is very limited in the biking world.
  17. CS 348 WB 1015 R 600 BB 85 HA ?? Edit: yes, they are the new SL rims. They're 38/44 and weigh around 375/450. The front wheel came out at 612g which is stupidly light.
  18. Well, it hasn't been dubbed the Team since Echo have stopped naming their range but I guess it could be called that seeing as there's a "Control" out too. I'm shit at taking pics, sorry. Key spec: - Almost full Ti spec apart from BB axle (even the bolts in TR hubs and stems are Ti) - SL 7075 handlebars - Frame with integrated tensioners as on the 24 and 26 - hub uses wider spacers and no snail cams - TR/SL wheels with butted 2.0/1.5/2.0 spokes and alloy nipples - Maxxis tubing and tyres (as standard uses Echo/Kenda) - Weight: 8,16kg
  19. Finally a massive rider who's also got an explosive style. Really enjoyed that, absolutely mental.
  20. Ah yes, Hungary. Home to some of the most explosive and precise riders and the most insane names ever.
  21. Good job, love to see battered parts get a makeover.
