  1. This really puts things into perspective. Nowadays you can build a lighter mod using only cheap Echo TR components. I wonder what will happen in the next 4 years.
  2. Do you mean to say that this cold welding process could have happened in a matter of ~10 seconds? Anyway thanks a lot for your help, I was hoping you'd be the first to reply to this topic
  3. Will do. It's dry because it was flushed with spirit while tapping. But yeah, definitely needs grease. Before this went horribly wrong, I tried installing a VP square taper bb and that went in fine. I've just measured that the VP thread is 34.6mm while the Reset is 34.65mm - 34.7mm. Do you think that aside from your suggestions it might be an idea to ever so slightly rub the bb cup thread down with sand paper?
  4. Well it's a mess now, this is how it looks like after the 2nd cup got raped and before tapping.
  5. I've got a serious problem with installing a Reset bb into an Inspired frame. Raped two drive side bb cups and part of the thread in the frame. The non drive side cups screws in just fine. Tried other bb's with steel cups and they went in fine. On the 1st approach a few threads went in easily, then it became heavier over 1 rotation, jammed and was impossible to unscrew, had to be hammered out. 2nd approach - frame was tapped and faced to make sure the threads are ok, the same thing happened I've never had a problem like this. I'm well aware of the care needed when installing bb's, especially alignment and making sure that the bb doesn't jam against the non drive side cup. As part of troubleshooting I've tried installing 2 Rest bb's into Adamant, Gu, Zoo and a couple Echo frames and they all went in fine. Help!
  6. Just out of interest, is that the same rear wheel you had on your (insert frame name here) around 2005/2006?
  7. Haha there must be a lot of truth in that. I'm pretty shit considering how long I've been riding. Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated

    Bank Ads

How is it that pretty much ALL bank advertisments are supposed to trick you into believeing something that's not really true? Loans, deposits, banks are trying to get us to use their products by offering a very competitive interest but only if you meet a million ridiculous requirements that appear on the telly in small print for 2 seconds. Truth be told if you watch one of these ads and decide to make use of the product they're offering you'll almost certainly be paying a lot more / getting a lot less than was promised to you in the ad. How is this still legal (well ok, I know why but this is a rant), and why has nobody done anything about this? It's not misrepresentation but the whole banking sector marketing is based on telling half the truth in hope that customers will only find out the truth once the bill arrives, or even better never notice. This is wrong. It's a bit like if Tesco said that you now only pay a pound for each lb of beef steak and added in small print that this only applies if you buy exactly 1/4 lb of steak, 20 loafs of bread, a 3-pack of beige socks and pay in cash while performing a tango with the store manager to Eminems music, holding a bottle of malt whisky in your mouth and a pair of red underwear hidden in your back pocket. I've never actually had such problems with banks, mainly because I don't trust them and don't use them. How can you trust an institution which makes money by tricking their customers? Airline companies are the same, oh sure you can fly for 10 quid across Europe. Just as long as you're completely naked.
  9. I'm quite surprised, as far as rim stiffness goes, SL's are among the stiffest and strongest trials rims you can buy
  10. There was a topic like this back in 2006 if I'm not mistaken. Somebody bumped it a few months ago to ask how we were doing with our plans since half of the 10 years had passed. And how surprised people were when they saw that their lives had gone in completely the opposite direction. I couldn't even believe what my plans were in 2006. I know what I want to do in life now so hopefully in 10 years time I'll still be running a business or two; statistically speaking I should be married and have kids as well. But most of all I hope my dad will still be alive. He'll be 84.
  11. Winters are pretty tough over here so I usually have to take a 4 month break and then to re-learn everything in the spring. Here's one of those rides, slowly getting back into shape: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N1qsQNMzio
  12. Was the cameraman getting a BJ while filming that?
  13. Always liked your videos. Such a good choice of music, editing and smooth riding.
  14. Pretty chaotic riding there, I'd be more inclined to be constructive if not for the pathetic topic title.
  15. I don't remember any quotes but I do remember rebelling against diapers very well.
  16. I'm running Maxxis flyweight tubes at the moment and while they're pretty puncture resistant considering their weight, they are impossible to repair. I hear this is fairly common. Has anyone found a way of repairing these tubes? The problem is that patches no matter how good do not hold. I though of dipping them in petrol for a few minutes to clean theslippery substance they're coated with off. Then again I'm not sure convinced that this substance is what's causing the problem.
  17. I always call if the matter is slightly more difficult than just ordering a bunch of parts. It's so much easier and you're in for a nice chat too. I think people need to learn the significance a telephone call to a store can have on the way the order is processed.
  18. Haha I've got a new one of these lying around and I can't for the love of god get rid of it! Bike looks sweet, always liked these frames.
  19. That's a stunning bike. It's a good thing you got LGM's and not the pink V!Z pads
  20. This is the stage of discussion where everyone quotes everybody else. Could I get quoted please? I want to join the bandwagon.
  21. It was the gay side of trials, but rather than call it TGSOT, it's referred to as TGS.
  22. That's the gayest shade of pink you could put on your bike.
  23. The megalol youtube comment. Vid was a bit too short
