  1. Wow that's proper oldschool. Surprised that this frame is still in one piece. Was the ES4 the higher model or the ES3?
  2. I'm so tempted to actually try and do this and prove you wrong. How can one not be able to drill through a 3mm sheet of steel?
  3. Looks completely random, like it's been in an accident. Not that I'm slating the idea, it's different but it still needs some thought.
  4. Yes, the old Echo snails which came with the coloured CNC hubs have a 12mm hole and will fit. Alternatively you can get 2 pairs of Echo SL tensioners (1 pair= 1x10mm cam and 1x12mm cam). Surely the easiest way would just be to get any old cams and drill a 12mm hole in them?
  5. They're not too good. The only reason one would want to own one is because of the groove around the tyre which you can fill with white paint and make it look super cool.
  6. Continental's range of tyres is a bit of a mess, first you have the normal King/Queen tyres which are cheaper and heavier, then you have the handmade models which are lighter, more expensive and have these unusual sounding rubber compounds like superduper or black paprika.
  7. I've always had platforms, recently switched from Echo SL platforms to Echo SL cages and I'm deeply dissatisfied. To put it short, if it's wet and your shoes are worn, you will have absolutely no grip. So the first thing to do after you switch to cages would be to get new shoes. Another thing, if you ride street and weight isn't a priority, platforms will be a lot better. Most single caged pedals are very fragile, most dual cage pedals fall apart.
  8. I'd rather stop riding trials altogether than get a half link chain And since I want to go FFW, I'm going to pursue the idea of building up an Ozonys. The Zoo might be lovely geometry wise but a half link is a massive no no. Um the backings originally came with HSB yellows, yes.
  9. Do you have any interests? I don't mean interests like watching movies but activities (perhaps even physical) you actually look forward to doing.
  10. Love Heller's pants. They make his riding look even better. Slightly Keita-ish.
  11. We need to keep this thread going as long as possible. Some absolutely epic tunes in here. I can't help, but judging by the songs posted in here this is my candidate. Not 100% sure if it's still the 90's though.
  12. No, he will need to buy a larger disc rotor. Measure the gap between the rotor and the outer edge of the brake pad and multiply it by 2. That's how much larger the new disc will have to be.
  13. Didn't know this thread was still going. Did a few changes to it and rode it for the first time. While the frame is absolutely superb I'm struggling with the gear ratio a bit. Used to ride 18:17/17:16 for 5 years so 17:14 is a pretty big leap. Got all my run up distances mixed up and I'm not used to putting any power down. With a light ratio you rely solely on speed, not strength.
  14. HD Kings fit without a problem, you just need to file down the cap a bit.

Is TRA actually in that vid? Their riding is so similar. Knut is so much a beta version of TRA 2. Also a Joe Maher lookalike, no?
  16. It all depends on whether you ride alone, if you think about riding (yes, thinking about riding and moves will get you better) and generally if you're a quick learner. Nowadays with internet, lots of online guides, access to good parts and riding mates you'll probably get a good grasp of the basic moves and drivetrain/brake control after half a year.
  17. He might not be able to answer that dear. I've just got a sneaky suspicion that since that post he's had kids and grandchildren and he's now living happily in a retirement home.
  18. American Dad implanted this in my head
  19. I'm a bit of a weight weenie and because of that I'll always be faithful to 4bolt Echo SL forks. On a maggie they have little flex and depending on your riding a pair might even last a year. One just needs to keep a look out for cracks and replace the fork before it splits into 3 bits.
  20. It really is that simple. Not being good enough for her has slipped my mind on a few occasions but it hasn't influenced my judgement. Recently she's not been in touch with me which has made me ask her out a few times but I still can't change my mind about this. I've got nothing to loose if I get with her but it just doesn't feel right. I'm sure many people on here would be put off by a clingy girl no matter how amazing she was. Men need to feel a sense of accomplishment when getting with a girl. The harder a bird is to catch, the more rewarding the whole experience and to me that's what it's all about. I know this doesn't really sound like a problem at all but it's more annoying than most other issues I've had with girls.
  21. Need to let some steam off. In short, I have a massive problem starting any sort of relationship because my standards are very high and unless a girl plays it out well, I loose interest after a few dates and we just become friends. A few months ago, a friend of my dad's started hitting on me. She's 3 years older than me. I've known her for a while since I used to ride with her brother a long time ago. She's stupidly hot, funny, charming, bright, pretty much everything one would look for in a girl. She's an architect, currently doing a PhD and lecturing at university, also does lots of design work. I wasn't aware of how gifted she is until she showed me her portfolio, made me feel blank and dumbstruck. So that's it, she's pretty much the most amazing girl I've ever met. Only problem is, she's hitting on me and that turns me off more than if she turned out to be a man. Our relationship is really going in the wrong direction because of this, we're becoming good friends and I'm treating her in the way you'd treat your sister. You'd never bang your own sister even if she was hot, would you? Well, some perverts might. The problem is that I can't help myself. I'd like to be with her but I just can't do it. There's no chemistry between us. I'm also seeing another girl, about 4 years younger than me and things are going well but she's completely overshadowed by the one that's hitting on me. To put it short, being me sucks ass.
  22. Was a bit "meh" about the riding, clearly very good riders but much of the stuff was done on the limit. Much prefer smaller stuff done with ease. Feel of the vid was amazing though, very good camera work, music and editing. Definitely one of the best ride vids I've seen in a long time.
  23. Well this won't answer your question but 17:16 on 158mm cranks feels roughly the same as 17:14 on 175mm cranks. The maths is down to you.
