  1. Aren't they roller bearings or whatever they're called?
  2. Lee is such a legend. So happy to see he's still riding and making vids.
  3. Good news about the camera, the quality of your vids was always tragic to say the least. Now they should be a pleasure to watch
  4. Cheers, that diagram is actually quite helpful As for the stems you mentioned, yes the Viz or Monty would probably be ideal but the Viz is only available in white and the PR is out of stock. The 2011 Viz stem has the geometry of the TryAll/Rockman which I'm not sure would suit me, especially after looking at that pic you posted. edit: rough measurements Echo SL 138x25 - 58mm rise and 125mm reach TryAll 150x30 - 74mm rise and 129mm reach Monty PR / Viz - 62mm rise and 135mm reach So yeah, the Monty sounds pretty much perfect whereas the Tryall is out of the question.
  5. Not going to describe my dreams tonight in detail because I feel totally brainwashed. Had 2 dreams in 5 installments, woke up after the first one, then went to sleep and it continued and finished. During the second dream I woke up twice and checked the time. Fell asleep twice and always the dream continued. When I was falling asleep for the last time, I remember thinking that I should really be getting up but it'd be interesting to see how the dream finishes. I feel bloody tired as a result, slept a good 10 hours and I'm a lot more drowsy than usual.
  6. Surely not? That guy was a powerhouse. Wasn't it Carles Diaz or Carles Vasquez?
  7. Very nice video indeed. Nice to see a 24" trials bike in action too.
  8. Why do you assume it's not? The arms should expand in the rotational direction which is why some people ride rear discs installed backwards believing that in trials the rear brake stops the bike from rolling backwards rather than forwards.
  9. Is this a full out of the box Ozonys? edit: oh, and your brake levers are upside down, not a wise idea to ride them like that.
  10. Spent the last 3 months creating a spec for my next bike, got pretty much everything dialled apart from the stem. Has anyone compared a 138x25 Echo SL stem side by side with a TryAll 150x30 stem? I'm looking for something slightly longer but with a bar clamp height no more than 10mm greater than the Echo.
  11. Ali, refer to my previous post. That would be awesome Only one problem though, beginners would probably never learn to pedal kick. They'd just pre-load the bb and "pedal kick" by releasing the brake without actually coordinating it with the drivetrain
  12. It's amazing how the white stripe can change the bike completely. Even the "modern" Echo tyres have a groove for the stripe which you can fill in but truth be told, they are absolutely rubbish tyres. They have absolutely no grip whatsoever. I use this set for pictures only, would never ride them with performance in mind.
  13. And there's double the amount, probably meaning a chain like that would be at least 50% heavier. The idea is pretty nice but I can't imagine how anyone would ever have a problem with finding the right gear ratio using a freehub. As posted above, if 18:16 is too light and 18:15 is too heavy, you still have at least 4 gears inbetween. Surely you don't need more than that.
  14. I've noticed you have the old Echo SL brake. You'll need to create a 3D rendering of a fluid leak in the master or slave cylinders for the whole bike to look as real as possible.
  15. So is there going to be a video or not?
  16. Yeah, there combinations are endless. Just as an example, the amount of ratios between 18:16 and 18:15 sorted from lightest to heaviest: Why would you want more?
  17. Not worth a separate thread but I just read this. Love the idea, probably won't work for trials but it's a superb use of gearing to improve braking performance.
  18. Greetings

    2010

Traditional end of the year thread. What's 2010 been like for you? I'll start. Was a nightmare most of the time, poor decisions and just overall bad luck all year meant that among other things I had to give up drifting, sell the car; didn't really go on holiday anywhere because I couldn't afford it. Wasted a lot of time doing pointless things. Found riding trials rather fun though which was unusual because I've been going off this sport for the last few years. Since August I've been working on sorting out various issues to start over in 2011, hopefully the year to come will be more pleasant. Post away
  19. The BB5 is a superb brake. Nothing comes close in terms of power, it's a simple design, easy to adjust... what more could you ask for? I had a BB7 a long time ago and it was also very good. Not worth a penny more than the BB5 though which is why I'd choose the 5 over a 7 any day.
  20. Not a memorable special but fun as always.
  21. There are over 120 threads with this exact question in the search form. Why on earth would you start another one?
  22. There are a few topics about 2XU on this forum, have a search. Not much info though.
