  1. Graphs are a great way to make a point!
  2. There was already a thread like that. I'll probably be getting an M5x15mm bolt since I misbehaved. Wanted an M6x15mm. Someone on here claims the M5 is good for bodging the TPA of an older HS33 so I'm actually looking forward to it.
  3. How do you take these pictures? If I were naive I'd think you send Mark with a box full of frames into orbit once a week where he can take pics of them floating in space. The ones with a white background look like they've been taken in purgatory, where as we know there is also no gravity. Loving the X-Rays in red and the Borns for their stealthy look.
  4. I have no proper pics and this will in no way contribute to the thread but I'm proud of the bodge so I'm going to show off. This was taken around 2002 on a 99 X-Lite where the seat tube broke off the bb. I fixed it with a lot of rope and some powertape, was as good as new:
  5. Well it's not like your soul has been sucked out of your body, it's just some warn.
  6. It's a tough one. I remember being very impressed with the stiffness of the Levelboss 1030 when it came out. It felt like it was an extension of your spine, a kind of precision tool. Before that, all we had were Montys. On the other hand, I rode a Triton for almost 2 years and got very used to the springyness of the frame. It really did make a difference. I sold the frame on last year and had the chance to ride it this year when I met it's new owner. Getting on it after riding a Gu Le BB40 for a few months was a sensational experience. Despite my GU weighing in at 8.6kg and that Triton build being around 9.5, it felt as if I got a massive boost of energy. It's really difficult to describe but every little hop on that frame felt light. The nature of the springyness of Tritons (at least mine) was that it felt very rigid but delivered a small kick out of nowhere. A sensational feeling if you're not used to it and also difficult to describe. On that basis I'm a big fan of springy frames but it's got to be done right. A 221 X-Lite I had in the past where the seat tube broke off the BB might have had a good 20mm of travel under hard preload but wasn't the kind of springyness one was looking for.
  7. Actually that could be the one and only thing on my list. Imagine if people could actually do that. Next thing you know the big boys would try to sidehop into orbit.
  8. Seniors can't get warned and they have the added benefit of being able to post *** without it being blanked out?
  9. Mike, have you tested the Phluid on Echo brakes? They're pretty prone to damage when run on anything aside mineral oil.
  10. Visit China, Japan and Vietnam.
  11. The Eno is great as a concept but that's about it.
  12. How can you not be able to build something as simple as that?
  13. Seriously though, for somebody who can barely backhop, that's quite a feat. It took me a good 2 years of riding to sidehop that high. Mind you they were different times, but still...
  14. Now you see, this is what trials is to me personally. Just riding about in a pretty environment, chilling out. This vid might not have had big moves but it was very well made and it had that 'something' in it.
  15. That place looks so cool. Need to go there next year.
  16. Good read However, reading that made me really angry at the unpopularity of trials over here
  17. As you say. The old ones are pretty bombproof and don't seem to deteriorate with time. Surely King must notice that their new hubs don't stack up to the old ones at all. Nowadays it's not uncommon for manufacturers to reduce the life span of their products in order to boost sales but surely that doesn't apply to companies that manufacture quality components. If somebody offered to buy my King for 500 quid, I'd probably turn it down. Absolute reliability is priceless especially as you don't get it anymore.
  18. I have always been and will be a freehub guy. I've had a king for almost 5 years now and it hasn't skipped yet. Pretty sure no freewheel would have such a clean record, let alone last that long in one piece. But the fact of the matter is that new King hubs are absolute rubbish. With their current quality you'd be better off with a mass purchase of a few Echo SL freewheels of equal value.
  19. If it's this one, then yes. It's great.
  20. Google Flash Element TD. Install Microsoft Excel. Learn to use Excel. Play Flash Element TD to figure out the basics. Use Excel to devise a stratergy and get a high score.
  21. If you can't afford the Echo right now then just save up for one. You might regret not getting one. Edit: There's nothing wrong with the 72 click, it's just been discontinued because Echo don't see any point in having a 72, 108 and a Ti.
  22. What's a tapered steerer?
