  1. I've asked Santa for an M6x15mm bolt but I've been a naughty child this year. Not expecting more than an M5x15mm really
  2. Going to start from scratch for the first time since I started riding which was around 10 years ago. Had loads of bikes in the past but never had a completely new one. They were always a mash of old and new parts. Planning on building up a 26" Curve V2, aiming at 7.6kg with sensible not paper-thin tyres. Should take a few months to source all the parts though.
  3. If the dropouts are at an angle, surely you'll notice it if you take the wheel off and rest the bike on the fork?
  4. Vaguely recall this happen to me once or twice.
  5. Could be a bit slippery. 2-3 massive tyres could work too, you should be able to get worn ones for free since their disposal costs a lot.
  6. They're made of a new alloy unlike the previous FANS frames; an alloy apparently specially designed for Speedrace. Having to make custom tubing in a very low quantity out of a custom material impacts the price a lot. Only problem with these frames I personally have is the paint job. It makes the superb looking anodized black and silver Evo frames look like a 20 quid Mielec or something.

I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtYQNKxJDW4this year and it makes quite a big difference especially with static moves since you don't have anything in front of you that could get in the way. Lots of fun for the first half an hour after which it starts getting boring.
  8. It's an OEM product, it's been tested by thousands of riders around the world under the name of Rockman, Try-All, Worldcat and so on.
  9. That's a 126p? How on earth did you get your hands on one of those?
  10. No. You see, that's where you've been going wrong. Girls with penises just like girls' clothing.
  11. Yep, especially as they wouldn't have been testing the SL brakes for 2 years if they were flawless.
  12. Today I was driving down a small country road leading from my house and couldn't get past becasue a car got stuck on ice in the middle of the road. I decided to help the guy, left the car and instantly fell over After some thought we decided to push that car off the road so that I could pass. We ended up pushing it sideways because it was easier that rolling it forward and to the left There's apparently going to be more snow over night, I really hope I'll be able to leave the house tomorrow.
  13. I've enquired about the disc brakes and they are not just prototypes. They're actually products which are undergoing very extensive testing. Echo want to be 100% sure that they are fully reliable and absolutely leak free before releasing them.
  14. The reason there is such a big price difference between China and Europe is that we have a 48.5% anti dumping tax on imports from China (bikes, frames, forks, wheels, freewheels, freehubs, handlebars, cranks etc.). There's also the standard 4.7% tax and VAT on top of the total. So yeah, what might seem cheap in China will be pretty expensive once it reaches Europe.
  15. Kenny Bealey did something like this didn't he? I don't remember exactly what it involved of what it was for but it caused quite a stir too. I'm guessing these pictures are targeted at the menstruating part of the population, not at us trials riders. Chicks would dig those pics (probably)? Edit: Hegedus Laszlo is Hungarian, not Russian.
  16. It's very bad in the winter, the oil thickens considerably. I could imagine butter forming inside the brake
  17. Do you mean to say that Echo actually test their products? Serious question here.
  18. 00:33 blew me away. Christ, if that's not style then I don't know what is. Perhaps Vittorio Brumotti doing a bunnyhop in an Armani vest, but what else?
  19. The last time Echo's looked any different was back in 2005/2006 when they had hydroformed bottom tubes. From then on they have been the entry level simpletons frame, with the rest of the range offering something more. Personally I like what's going on here, they're working on maximum functionality, low weight, good strength and low price. Most other frames on the market only combine 2 of these points.
  20. I've been running two SL brakes for almost half a year now and their performance is great. They feel completely different to Maguras, the lever feedback is a bit like in a disc brake. Mine also survived a stack after which I'm pretty sure a Maggie lever body would just break in half. So despite looking very delicate and small (they're a lot smaller than they look in the pics), they're actually a solid product. edit: this is for the new SL brake with Ti bolts and a red TPA.
  21. First off, GU is Echo. Secondly all frames including the '09 / '10 GU LE have been and still are made in the new Echo factory. And 3rd of all, I'm an Echo dealer (meaning Gu, Zoo Adamant and Czar too, because it's the same company). I haven't quoted the prices I'll be selling the new frames at since this is mostly a UK forum and it's up to your dealers to set them but I'm 99% sure that the general idea of the basic Echo frames costing more than the old Le will apply worldwide.
  22. This obviously depends on the dealers in individual countries. I'm pricing the Echos a bit higher than the current GU LE frames, the ZOO is a bit more expensive due to the large amount of CNC.
  23. They're orange. Must say that the 24" looks perfect, first 24" bike that doesn't look like it's a stock with shrunk wheels.
  24. Seeing as he thought his Piranha was a Pitbull, I'd guess the Python is in fact a Lynx. But that's just names. 4 new frames have been released so far, 3 Echo's and 1 Zoo. There are bound to be more, at the moment Echo has a lineup of just two mod bikes - a GU LE and 20" Echo - which for one of the largest trials manufacturers is not a massive number. Echo have been focusing more on single parts than frames recently and I'd expect few novelties in the frame department until the TR SL and Urban range are complete.
